Chapter 2
Maya, Farkle and Riley all arrived at school which is where the say Farkle's nemesis her name was Isadora Smakle. Isadora was a nerdy kind of a girl who would always beat Farkle in anything that she did. She was wearing her Einstein Academy uniform and her black hair was in two braids with her fringe hanging out. Even though she tried not to show it she had a little crush on Farkle even though he couldn't see it because he was too preoccupied with his love for Maya and Riley.
''Farkle'' Smakle Joked
Farkle turned to face his enemy
"Smakle to what do I owe this displeasure'' Farkle joked
''I just wanted to let you know that in today's debate between John Quincy Adams Middle school and Einstein academy there can only be one winner, and that's me'' Smakle said
''Don't be too sure of yourself today could be my day'' Farkle said
"Whatever I have to go prepare my speech goodbye hope to see you there" Smakle said before leaving
''You guys will be there to support me won't you?"" Farkle asked Maya and Riley
"Of cause'' said Riley
The sound of the school bell rang through the halls and the friends split as they moved to get their books from their lockers
''See you in Art Maya'' Riley said
"Save me a seat'' Maya replied
Maya and Riley were both sitting in art class drawing the object that was in front of them and suddenly all Maya could think about was Riley's uncle Josh. She wanted to ask Riley so many questions about him but she didn't want her to know that she may have had a little crush on him.
''So why is Josh at your place?"' Maya asked
''He's on school break and because he barely sees us mum and dad said he can stay with us if he wanted'' Riley said
''do you know how long he will be staying'' Maya asked
''Just for a couple weeks. Why do you want to know so much about him?'' Riley said
''I was just wondering that's all'' Maya say in defense
''You still don't have that crush on him do you?'' Riley said teasingly
'' WHAT of coarse not'' Maya said
Maya was worried that Riley might figure out that she had a crush on him so she quickly changed the subject to something she knew would get Riley answering all the questions.
''So how's Ranger Rick?'' Maya said
'' I don't know where I stand with him I mean does he like me does he not he is very good at hiding his feelings. What do you think?'' Riley said
'' well he does seem pretty into you and I know you like him. I think you two would be good together'' Maya said
''If I didn't tell you I liked him do you think it would be obvious?'' Riley asked
''Defiantly I mean look at what your drawing'' Maya said with a giggle in her voice
Riley looked down at her work and thought it was cute she was drawing Lucas all she thought about was Lucas she so wanted to have something with Lucas she just didn't know what that something was. However she wasn't the only one most of the girls in her grade were going after him and worst of all of them was Missy. Missy would always flirt with Lucas and act like a damsel in distress so that Lucas would notice her which he did.
At lunch Maya and Riley met up with Lucas and usually Farkle but he wasn't there at that time. Maya could see the way that Lucas and Riley looked into each other's eyes and she felt like she was third wheeling. So she felt like her best friend should have some time alone with the guy she liked so she though up of a perfect plan.
''hey Riley'' Maya whispered
Riley turned
"Yeah'' Riley replied
''I'm going to go find Farkle' 'Maya said
''Ok whatever ill finish your lunch'' Riley said
''its ok I'm taking it with me'' Maya said
''Ok bye'' Riley said
Maya started to get up to go in search of Farkle when a hand was pulling her back down to the chair and she knew exactly who it was it was Riley's.
''Maya you can't leave me alone with Lucas ill freeze up'' Riley said
''Just talk to him as if you were talking to me'' Maya said
Riley started calming herself down trying to keep herself from going insane and having Lucas put completely off her then she said something that totally embarrassed herself.
"Hello buddy '' Riley said to Lucas
Lucas was amused by Riley he though she was cute and he wanted to ask her to the dance that was coming up but he didn't want to make it awkward and he was afraid she would say no.
''Howdy'' Lucas said
'' what class do you have next?'' Riley said
''History the same as you'' Lucas said
Riley and Lucas continued to look into each other's eyes and it turned into a comfortable silence. Luas looked down at his food tray that he had gotten from the school canteen and he looked at the piece of angels food cake that was still there he picked it up and handed it to Riley
''Angels food cake for and angel'' Lucas said
Riley let out a little giggle and blushed
"Thankyou Lucas but I don't think I can finish all of this want to help me?''
''Sure'' Lucas said
They ate the food cake the Lucas decided this was the perfect time to as riley to the dance
" So the school dance is coming up' 'he said
''Sure is'' Riley said think he was going to was her she was getting butterfly's in her stomach
''I was wondering if yo-''Lucas was cut off by the sound of the school bell ringing
''You were wondering if what?" Riley said
''Doesn't matter we should get to class'' Lucas said
Off they went smiling at each other in another comfortable silence.
