Akatsuki's Blood Blossom

Chapter 1

Reconstruction

Sakura: Age 3

Akatsuki Base

"Sasori-nii!" Yelled the voice of one little Akatsuki no Sakura as she ran around the corridors of the base to find the man she considered to be her older brother.

A few months after Sakura was born, Sasori was asked to take care of her for a few days while her parents went out to gain more allies from other countries and through the 'underground society' to help repair the village.

It may have been three years since the attack on the village, but not everything was fixed, two of the main bridges still needed to be repaired, the Amekage's mansion still had to be remade, even though they spent most of their time in the base (which was the only thing repaired so far) and the second floor of both the hospital and the school still had to be redone.

"Careful Saku-chan, you might trip." Replied a man with red hair and lazy light brown eyes, which showed a smidge of care and concern in them as he regarded Sakura and her pouty lips.

"I know Nii-san! I was just trying to find you." She said in a 'duh' voice, acting like it was the most obvious thing in the world and that it justified her reason for running around.

Although, for her, he suppose it did.

He chuckled and ruffled her hair. He looked up to see Pein and Konan; he bowed and greeted them as they nodded back. Smiling at the interaction between their daughter and the red headed puppet master.

"The bridge builder is here, we need you to watch Sakura for a few hours while we show him the bridges that need to be repaired." Sasori nodded and took Sakura's hand and she waved 'goodbye' to her parents with her other hand.

Sasori walked to his room to show her his puppets that she seemed to have grown an interest in.

Sakura fiddled with a few joints of the puppets limbs, watching as an arm rotated more than 360 degrees and then some.

"Saso-nii? Are arms supposed to do that?"

"Only if you do it to someone on purpose, if not, then no, they are not supposed to do that."

Both were silent for a few moments while Sakura tilted her head to the left.

"Does it hurt?"

"Very much so yes."

Again more silence.

"How bad?"

"It makes grown men cry."

Sakura frowned a bit before looking at him in the eye.

"Daddy wouldn't have cried."

Sasori mentally nodded, his leader was stronger than most, he probably wouldn't have even made a face if it came down to it.

After about another twenty minutes of puppetry, a loud crashing noise was heard from the kitchen down stairs causing a sigh of annoyance to erupt from Sasori's mouth.

"Hold on Cherry, I have to go see what the idiots did in the kitchen." She nodded as Sasori walked away, a few minutes later a string of curses were heard along with Kakuzu's booming voice, yelling about how he 'Wasn't going to pay for that' and Sasori saying that he was 'Surrounded by idiots'.

Curious, Sakura went to see what had happened. Walking down stairs, she saw Sasori in a head lock, curtusy of Hidan. Kakuzu repeatedly hitting Hidan on the head with a frying pan only for Hidan to laugh maniacly like the sick masochist that he is.

A few feet away Sakura saw the front entrance of the base open, never really being outside unless accompanied her brother or parents, the three year old wanted to see what was out there for herself, without the guide of someone else telling her what to do or what not to do.

As she was aimlessly walking around in the rain, jumping in water puddles and waving hello to the villagers until she caught the sound of her parent's voices. Quickly following it, she sprinted and jumped to avoid people and shops that were in her way, not watching where she was going, she ran untill she crashed into something, or rather, someone.

Looking up to see purple ringed eyes, she gasped causing the orange eyebrows that belonged to her father rise. He sighed and picked her up, resting her on his hip.

"Tazuna-san, this is my daughter Sakura. Sakura, this it the bridge builder Tazuna, he's going to repair the bridges here in the village in return for the protection of his village." She smiled and waved at the old man, he returned the greeting through bowing out of respect.

"So, Tazuna-san, how long will it take to complete both bridges?" questioned Konan.

"Hmm, at least a ten months for both bridges." They both nodded, it was acceptable considering it was two bridges that needed to be built.

"When can you get started?" As the topic continued Sakura began to get bored, and sleepy. After a minute of nodding off and jerking her head back up, her father took his hand and put it on the back of her head so she was resting on his shoulder and soon fell asleep.

Traitor

"Pein, have you noticed how strange Orochimaru has been lately?" Konan asked Pein as she stood behind his desk observing him as he did his work.

Pein paused his work to look at his wife. "Yes, I'm aware of that Konan, we must keep an eye on him, and I'm getting a bad feeling about him too, especially when he's around Sakura." He stated, scowling at the mere thought of someone hurting his daughter.

"Right." Konan said, just as angrily.

"Speaking of which, where is Sakura?" Pein asked after he had calmed down enough to resume his paperwork.

"I put her to sleep about twenty minutes ago." Konan said evenly.

"Hn."

Unknown to them, a pair of yellow snake eyes had been watching and listening in the whole time. Licking his lips Orochimaru headed to the little pinkette's room.

Orochimaru was walking throughout the base, heading for Sakura's room. When he reached her door he pushed it open, unknowingly notifying Pein and Konan that someone had entered her room through a trap they had placed in her room.

Yellow eyes silently watched the child as she slept. Slowly he walked over to her, softly brushing away her hair to expose her neck. He licked his lips once again and started to lower his head as his fangs grew.

As soon as his fangs touched her neck a smoke bomb went off in her room, only allowing his fang to graze her neck, breaking the surface of her skin.

Growling, Orochimaru jumped away and quickly used his chakra and searched to see if the child was still in her room, to his surprise, she was, but she wasn't the only one.

When the smoke cleared the figures in the room were clearly pissed. They made a move to attack him, only for him to immediately disappear in a puff of smoke.

"Damnit, it was a clone!" Kisame cursed.

"Find him, now!" Pein ordered to his subordinates with a glare that could frighten death himself.

"Yes Leader-Sama" They all said at once before dispersing.

30 minutes later

"We're sorry Leader-sama but it seems as though he's escaped, nothing is left in his room, it's like he anticipated this." Sasori said, voice thick with hatred.

"Damn!" Pein cursed.

"I told you we should have started her training early Pein! Someone was bound to come after her!" Konan said to Pein as she held their daughter close to her chest.

"Yes but I didn't think it would happen this soon. It's too late for that now, but we can still train her." Pein said as he started pacing around the room.

"We'll start out small, with the basics. Then we'll start her physical training and just go on from there." He took one look at Sakura who was crying and clutching her neck in pain.

"Was she bitten?" Konan shook her head at Pein's question.

"No, just a graze but, it still left a mark. It's given her a fever." Konan moved Sakura's bloody hand out of the way to show everyone else.

The mark itself was almost flame like. They all watched as the mark receded, leaving just the wound.

"I don't know how this will affect her, so we all have to watch her and take care of her. Anything suspicious about her behavior you tell us, understand?" Konan addressed to everyone in the room, all to which they replied.

"Right!"

Birthday

Akatsuki Base

March 28, AKA Sakura's 5th Birthday

"Happy Birthday Sakura-chan!"

Sakura couldn't fight the grin that was on her face.

Today marked her 5th birthday and everything was amazing in Ame. The village was whole again, the bridges were repaired along with everything else and the snake was long gone.

She didn't remember much about him but from what she did remember, she never really liked Orochimaru. Though the day he tried to bite her really scared her family, and herself. As soon as he disappeared from the village with absolutely no trace he was branded as a traitor and was banned from Ame.

Afterwards Pein decided to take extra precautions and add his chakra to the rain to keep it going, and with his chakra in the rain he was able to sense anything and anyone who entered the village and if they were a threat or not.

And now here they are two years later, nothing bad going on in or around the village, and within those two years the Akatsuki were no longer S-ranked criminals, but S-ranked ninja. Their own villages somewhat agreed to allow them to no longer be branded as traitors as long as they were allies. But they still had to make allies with a few other villages. Like Suna, that treaty was going to be made in a few days time.

After Sakura blew out her candles everyone started lining up the gifts they got her so she opened them up one by one.

Sasori got her a puppet in the shape of a dragon, the mouth was able too shoot out poisoned senbon needles and the body was able to open and either hide a person in it or capture a person and have needles puncture them in every direction. The tip of the tail had an opening that shot out flames.

Kisame got her a sword that came with its own name like his Samehada, hers was called Senbonzakura.

Zetsu got her a plant that had a rare poison in the stem, causing the victim to either be paralyzed, or in higher doses, stop all organs from functioning and die.

Hidan got her a Jashin necklace saying that she would become one of his followers one day, along with a book about detailed sacrifices, and what each sacrifice meant for Jashin.

Kakuzu gave her a hundred dollars and her own bounty book, saying that even though she wasn't a bounty hunter it wouldn't hurt to learn a thing or two about it.

Tobi, one of their newest members, got her a box that had a small circular shape on the top with a small sharp needle in the center of it.

"What am I supposed to do with it?" She asked Tobi as she stared at the box and shook it some, she couldn't hear anything.

"You poke your finger with it! Your blood goes inside and whatever is inside, becomes yours!"

"Whatever is inside?" A bit nervous she took her index finger and pricked it, and watched as blood dripped down the needle and into the box. A few seconds later something shot out of the box and started flying around the room.

"What in the hell is that thing?"

"Tobi! What did you just unleash into my base?!"

"If it breaks something I'm not paying for it!"

It was a fairly small box so whatever it was shouldn't have caused as much damage as it did, walls had holes, chairs were broken, and food was all over the place.

Whatever that thing was that was in the box finally stopped moving and in flew to Sakura and situated itself on to her left index finger, the same finger that she had pricked to give the blood to.

As soon as it settled everyone gathered around to see a metallic dragon coil itself around her finger to sit like a ring before solidifying.

"Awe thanks Tobi." Sakura said as she looked at the ring from all directions, if she were to be completely honest with herself she's say it was pretty darn cool. Especially if the ring can come back to life.

Deciding to leave the mess till after the party was over, Sakura continued opening her presents.

The next gift she opened was from her dad, he gave her a bunch of ninja supplies, which sort of confused her, and then it clicked! She looked up to her dad with her shining emerald eyes. "Really daddy?" He showed a small smile and nodded.

"Yup, you'll begin your ninja training next week and enter the academy next year." Sakura squealed and hugged the living day lights out of him.

Her mom gave her a ninja outfit. It's consisted of black thick leggings, a navy blue v-neck t-shirt, and her very own Akatsuki robe. But her robe was different from the others. It still had the red clouds on it, but they were outlined in black instead of white, and the robe itself was white instead of black.

It was an inverted Akatsuki's robe.

After everyone had cleaned up the mess from Tobi's present they had gone out to eat because all the rest of the food was ruined. Needless to say, Sakura had a pretty awesome birthday.

Yes the sword Senbonzakura is from the anime Bleach. That's Sakura's sword, for the time being it will only have its shikai form, but I might even make it so she can achieve Bankai when she gets stronger, we'll see.
