The War between Camps

Chapter Two: At Least I Tried

"Get out of my way you graecus!" Erika cries out.

"Over my dead body, I will never give up." I say.

"ERIKA! ERIKA! ERIKA!" the Romans chant. I slash Warrior at Erika but it fails. Erika slashes her sword and next thing you know it, there is a sharp, throbbing pain in my left leg. Erika then kicks me in the stomach. I fall to the ground with Warrior next to me. I can't move my body because it hurts so much. "Ave! Erika Kalman, daughter of Victoria!" the girl on the brown Pegasus says. All I hear is cheering before my world becomes completely black

Three Hours Later…

"Lanta, can you hear me?" I hear a voice say. I wake up and see Raphael, Helen, and Sammy right next to me. Raphael comes with squares of ambrosia and a bottle of nectar. My leg and stomach are wrapped up. I hoarsely say, "What happened? I remember fighting a Roman." Raphael says, "You were defeated, you were injured bad. Sammy saw everything and told Kyle and Clarisse. (A/N I don't own Clarisse. I wish. She's the best!) The Ares kids went to fight. Sammy told Jaylin who took you here." I look at Sammy who is twirling her brown hair. She looks at me with her chocolate brown eyes and her famous elfish smile. She says, "That's what friends are for." "Where is Warrior?" I ask. Helen says, "It's with Aiden and Nyssa getting repaired". I say, "At least I tried." Helen and Sammy say in unison, "Yep, you did your best Lanta". I try to sit up, but my stomach starts to hurt and Helen says, "Don't do that, Lanta. Your stomach and leg aren't fully healed yet." Helen, being a charmspeaker, tells me what to do and I follow her orders. I lie back down and take a nap.

Atalanta's Dream

Kyle slashes his sword but the boy he is fighting gets out of the way. The boy says, "Never mess with a child of Bacchus". One girl yells, "Let's go, Dakota! Erika got the first graecus out of the way; you can get this graecus out of the way!" Dakota stabs his sword at Kyle's leg. Kyle's leg is cut open. Clarisse steps in and says, "No one hurts my younger brother! I am Clarisse La Rue drakon slayer! I WILL KILL YOU ALL! Clarisse puts up a good fight until 5 minutes later. The girl on the Pegasus gets off the Pegasus and says, "I am Reyna, daughter of Bellona. I will be your opponent, Clarisse. Reyna and Clarisse put up a good fight. Reyna stabs the back of her sword at Clarisse's stomach and Clarisse falls over. Reyna puts her foot on Clarisse's leg and cried, "Romans of the 12th Legion Fulminata, we have defeated the Graeci!" Clarisse then sits up and says, "Not so fast, Little Miss Praetor of Camp Jupiter, I'm not giving up. I'M CLARISSE, DRAKON SLAYER. I WILL KILL YOU!" Reyna replies, "How cute! This graecus has the same fiery spirit as the last one, the one whose name is Atalanta." Clarisse growls and pounces at Reyna. Reyna dodges Clarisse's attack. Clarisse lands on her feet and slashes her knife at Reyna. Reyna again dodges and takes out her bow and shoots at Clarisse's leg. Clarisse then turns Reyna's arrow into rubber. Reyna gasps and mutters, "Impossible!" Reyna shakes it off and tries to stab her sword at Clarisse. Kyle runs in front of Clarisse and Reyna stabs Kyle. Kyle collapses and Reyna says, "Graecus never interfere!" Then Reyna stabs her sword at Clarisse's stomach, which makes Clarisse collapse. Reyna says, "We have defeated the Graeci!" The Romans yell, "Ave! Reyna, daughter of Bellona, praetor of Rome!"

"Lanta can you hear me?" I can tell by the voice it's Aiden. I don't want to wake up, my stomach burns like crazy. "Should I do the fire thing to her arm?" Aiden asks. "NO! Don't do anything!" I say. "Good thing you're awake, we have a special visitor for you." Sammy says. Chiron comes over to me and asks, "How's the guardian of Camp?" I reply, "Injured, tired, in pain. Why did you make me the guardian of Camp, Chiron?" Chiron replies, "I made you guardian because you are a special child. When you first came, I knew you would make a great warrior. When you told me you are a daughter of Athena, I knew you were more. When you were claimed as a legacy of both Hermes and Ares, I knew you would be a warrior. So when the Romans came, I gave you the role of guardian." It makes sense now. Chiron goes to visit other injured demigods. Raphael comes to me and gives me some nectar. My leg and stomach starts to get better. I was going to ask him something but Jaylin comes in and says in a panic, "Raphael, two demigods are seriously injured." I see the injured demigods from my bed. I make out the images of Kyle and Clarisse.

Helen Syrus- daughter of Aphrodite, age 12, charmspeaker

Aiden Michaels- son of Hephaestus, age 12, fire user

Samantha "Sammy" Peskins- daughter of Hermes, age 12

Kyle Mellion- son of Ares, age 13
