CHAPTER TWO
SANDS ETERNITY
Brightest stars are yours to seek out without wars. They can be the greatest treasures of our lives.
Treasures are and can be other things than material items. They don't have to be things we desire.
Seek out what you'd love in this life. This cycle is limited to its very own. So much that it can be taken.
Don't revolve around violence, my little one. Be more than violence be a goddess of beauty.
-Marcie Shepard, ALLIANCE MILITARY MEDIC IV
-I-
Alarm went off sounding as it did to wake up the people. Celestina touched the buzzer. Yawning.
Stretching she reached over to feel the body of her partner. Only having noticed him not being there.
She sat up and felt the pillow. Looking left then right she didn't see him at all. She smiled.
Thinking maybe a surprise was about to unfold. Getting up and reaching for her gown.
The bedroom was large, the balcony was middle size. The glass windows looked amazing to see through.
The view of the Citadel was great.
Celestine stood touching the glass door. Lightly with her finger tips. She loved the glowing life.
Colors bright as ever. This day was going to be interesting and great. She enjoyed seeing views.
At the closet she opened the door. Seeing her "N7" clothes hanging.
A call came from her house phone.
"Hey! Sis, could you be able to pick up Elroy from Preschool I owe you thanks sis!" said Carrie Mathew
Knocking came at the door. Celestine came out from her bedroom and walked to the front door.
Her place was neat and stylish. She had a large plasma along with a fireplace. Even a small mini bar.
A long couch to fit 5 people. She had it all. Walking to the door she opened it.
Ashley Williams was standing outside in full gear.
"Hey Ash" said Celestina
Celestina smiled with closed eyes. Ashley looked troubled a little. Worried I would say.
"How's it going so far? Well can I come in?" asked Ashley
"Sure" said Celestina
Door closed behind Ashley. She breathed easily as she took a seat on the couch.
Celestina took a seat next to her. Thinking what this could possibly be about or anything like that.
"It's Roy...He's…He proposed to me" said Ashley
Celestina jumped and looked at her with hands on her head.
"Amazing! Oh-Oh that's good news their Ash!" she yelled
Ashley didn't look much happy about it. Worried about a few things.
"Yes, yes, it is…But I don't know…Its been 2 and a half years" said Ash
"But what?" said Celestina
Ashley looked away from here. Just staring at her own hands.
"I just don't know if I'm- "
Celestina looked away seeing the pic of her and Garrus. Both at a party dressed nicely.
"Ready? Or what" asked Celestina
She reached out to the pic and gripped it close to her.
"Good enough to be a wife, I love the military you know so it would be difficult" said Ash
Ashley stared at the lovely pic of them.
"You know as much as I do. It's never easy with anything in our lives. If it was then we wouldn't struggle"
This moment was perfect thought Celestina. Wondering if this would go right for Ashley.
Making her more than what she was now. Maybe even a mom like she had wanted to be.
"Just trust yourself and if Roy thinks this is the best move then there shouldn't be doubt" said Celestina
"Maybe your right. Has Garrus even tried to Propose to you yet?" Said Ashley
Celestina looked at her with a serious face.
"No. Not yet he hasn't done anything like that" said Celestina
Celestina wondered about it now. What if Garrus was planning on it.
"I hope so because both of you deserve one another, I'm going to think about this" said Ashley
Both stood up and hugged one another.
"Don't doubt yourself at all, your wonderful Ash and you're like a sister to me" said Celestina
"Listen I gotta get going to pick up my nephew I'll have to talk to you about this later then" she said
"Alright I just wanted your insight and thanks for it" said Ash
Ashley left closing the door behind her. Celestina smiled wide for her. Knowing the deal.
She was proud of her. Yet a little jealous honestly. Thinking maybe her day might end up coming soon.
Rushing to the shower. She went to get ready to leave and head out. Taking a shuttle, she left.
Heading to the lower Presidium parts of the Citadel. She looked at the many sky cars flying by.
Celestina arrived on time. A bit early but she was there. She took a few minutes to herself.
Walking by over the sides. Past other people. Moving to the rail. Touching it feeling the cold steel.
She was curious about it. The idea of marriage as much as a new beginning of living out a life.
The sounds of the large lake were amazing. The beauty of waters coming down made it great.
So much time had passed. Everything was in its rightful place. Celestina liked this. Peace time.
Things were much calmer. Even with the side events every now and then. She loved these moments.
Standing near the lake. Celestina took a glimpse at her omni tool. She sent a call to Garrus.
"Hopefully he's not too busy or anything" said Celestina
Ringing went on and on. He didn't pick up after the 5th ring. She was hating that. She was feeling angry.
Just a little about it. She looked away with a sigh.
"Hello!?" said Garrus
She smiled widely seeing his face looking at the omni tool. He was struggling to get a good angle.
Seconds after hearing the normal people "Hello". Her smile faded. Angry face time.
"Hi Honey! Wait what? What do you mean hello?" said Celestina
Garrus looked at her surprised and scratched his head. Thinking oh crap what did I say.
"Sorry Honey I mean Hi honey" said Garrus
Garrus touched the screen as she did the same.
"How's work going?" asked Celestine
Garrus moved the camera for her to see the room. It was nearly complete. Garrus had painted hands.
"Had a few issues and leaks but! It's going well" said Garrus
She smiled thinking about it. Wondering about how little he understood.
"Garrus…Building a house for us is not your strong suit is it" she said
"WHAT?! Honey come on…I'm-I know what I'm doing besides I am the best Turian alive right now"
Celestina smiled and bursted out laughing.
"I miss you" said Celestina
Garrus was laughing too alongside her about it.
"Miss you too. How's my Nephew Elroy" asked Garrus
Celestina took the walk up the stairs away from the lake view she was loving.
"He's getting out at 11 AM, alright baby I gotta go love you" she said
Celestina sent him a kiss through the omni tool. Waving at him.
"Ahh almost out then, hope to see you guys soon" said Garrus
All around the Citadel. Children amongst them parents. The school that was built was amazing.
Interspecies allowed. Everything that was about it was active. At distance, Celestina waited outside.
Staring at her omni tool. Seeing the videos of funny clips on YouTube. She smiled about it. Bell rang.
Celestina was in her "N7" clothing. She could see him. Her Nephew "Elroy Mathew".
She smiled seeing him. A young child at the age of 7. Starting School. He was human.
Celestina liked how this was. A kind favor to her sister.
Small young. A female Turian waved at him goodbye. Celestina smiled and took video.
Elroy got a hug from the Turian girl. He blushed running back to his Aunt Celestina.
"How was it Elroy?" she asked
Elroy stared at her looking up. Holding her hand.
"Oh! Auntie it was great today!" he yelled
Both walked side by side. Moving away from the school.
"Ha-ha, aww I got to see a love at first sight scene" she said smiling
"WHAT?!" he yelled
Celestina laughed about it. She looked away from him. He stared at her with a red face.
"I'm kidding Elroy" she said
"Where's Uncle Garrus?" asked Elroy
"At Home finishing the living room, did you miss him?" asked Celestina
"I do miss my Coolest Uncle!" he yelled
Celestina laughed along with him about it.
-I-
Breathing heavily, she was calm. The dark room was calm. Celestina opened her eyes.
The memory that she had had ended of her loved ones. She missed them a lot.
The feeling of being held like this was a constant nightmare. Endless. She wanted this to end.
But wanted to see them. Once more, she didn't want to die so soon. Especially not like this at all.
She remembered the truth about herself. Her name was still clear as day.
-Celestina Shepard, Infiltrator class, Age: 29-
Celestina spat out blood from her mouth. The jaw felt pain. She didn't know how much longer.
How much longer will she be like this. Was it before or after more of this? Constantly counting the days.
As she felt the amount of hours thinking. She wondered about them. How they were doing without her.
Celestina looked up above her own head. Seeing the center circular glowing blue light. Slowly turning.
Around like clockwork. She wondered about it. She could see through the small opening of thick glass.
The stars afar from reach. She loved exploring. She loved the idea of going to a new place.
Hated this one. She wanted to leave but not die or anything like that at all. This was a mistake.
She had to own it for that and what it was.
