Sorry about the really really really late update. I've been having issues with writer's block and my attention span isn't that great as I've been switching between several of my other original stories :p

Chapter 2

Alice stood still, her bangs hiding her eyes. She wasn't shaking, her hands were unclenched at her sides, no tears slide down her face, and her shoulders weren't slumped. It was hard for Ciel to decide what she was feeling. Remorse, anger, grief, frustration? None of them?

"Miss Alice" Mey Rin cried as she ran to Alice. Alice looked up with wide eyes looking shocked, like she was snapped out of a reverie. "Are you all right?"

Alice smiled sweetly, "Yes, thank you for your concern." She looked at the heavy chair that had fallen. She kneeled and hooked her fingers around the edge and lifted, she used her shoulder to cover more mass and used her legs to push the chair up until it was standing.

"You didn't have to do that." Ciel said sipping his tea.

"And my Uncle didn't have to knock it over." Alice replied coolly as Mey Rin pushed it under the table. Ciel grunted. "Well thanks for having me, good night." Alice said walking away and waving her hand.

"You have a place to stay?" Mey Rin asked following her in concern.

"No." Alice just turned out of the dining hall when Ciel called after her. She turned back into the room. "Pardon?"

"You can stay here." He replied looking at her with his blue eye.

Alice frowned. What miracle is this? "I…don't want to impose…" She said. Though her words were drained out by Mey Rin's cheering. She ran over to Ciel and hugged him.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" she squealed.

"Let go." Ciel ordered.

"Yes, young master," Mey Rin said before running back to Alice. "Let me show you around!" so, she dragged a shocked Alice around the mansion. Along the way she bumped into Sebastian. Alice caught the tray he was carrying with all the refreshments. Nothing perished. "S-Sebastian! I'm sorry!" Mey Rin cried, her face reddening.

Sebastian smiled. "It's all right. Young Master's food wasn't wasted." Mey Rin turned to see Alice holding the tray. She was amazed. "Thank you, Young Lady" Sebastian said taking the tray from Alice after moving around Mey Rin. He smiled at Alice, yet she didn't return it. "I would've made you something too, if only I knew you were staying."

"Quite a slip up from one hell of a butler." Alice replied.

"Indeed," he bowed and left the two women alone.

Mey Rin watched Sebastian walk away with a love sick smile. When she composed herself, she turned to Alice and curtsied. "Thank you Miss Alice. That was quite amazing of you."

"It was nothing" Alice dismissed.

"Ah, I know," Mey Rin said, clapping her hands together, "I'll show you master's office."

"I don't think that's-" Mey Rin grabbed her hand and pulled her down the hallway. "Necessary." Alice finished with a sigh.
