Even though I didn't get ANY reviews from the last chapter I'm still going to post this one. But, I'm going to need at least one review for me to post the next one.
Disclaimer- I still don't own it
Used to living in a dirty room in the center of a horrid house, Crystal had never expected the Potters to be so welcoming. It was obvious that, even though he had never met her, Mr. Potter cared for her. Crystal was stunned when James showed her to a large, white room that Mr. Potter had prepared after his first correspondence with her. A fluffy bed, complete with a canopy of everlasting flowers, dominated the room, and two partially open doorways on the other end of the bedroom revealed a private bathroom and walk-in closet. The two boys, seeing the look of awe and astonishment on the new guest's face, quietly retreated from the room to allow her to explore it on her own.
The first thing Crystal did was run to the walk-in closet. Having been in the same dark clothes for more than 48 hours, Crystal desperately needed a new outfit. Pushing the closet door open, she stepped into a world of wonder. Clothes of all sorts of shapes and sizes lined the walls, drawer after drawer of soft shirts and delicate shorts were stacked next to a large shoe rack. Grabbing a simple white cotton smock dress from the dress rack, Crystal hurriedly leapt out of her clothes and made a movement to put on the dress before noticing the state of herself. Old and new cuts crisscrossed her arms, and dirt was caked in every crevice of her body. Dropping the dress, Crystal ran to the other door to take a shower.
Now dressed in her white smock dress and smelling of lavender from her shower, Crystal was lounging her giant bed. She was reading a book she had found on a shelf in her room. It was fascinating. Lost in stories of cackling stumps and hopping pot, fountains and elder wands, Crystal's eyelids began to droop and soon she was snoring softly with the book on her lap.
Down on the leather couches of Potter Mansion, Sirius and James were discussing the new addition to the household.
"James, who is she?" Sirius asked, mystified by her beautiful looks and odd name.
"She's Crystal Riddle." James answered in a confused way, "I thought you already knew that."
"Well, yeah, I know that, but who is she actually? She has a British accent, yet she doesn't go to Hogwarts. And I saw a wand in her back pocket so she can't be a muggle or a squib. And, based on the abuse by her family and her unfamiliarity with brightly colored homes, it would seem that she comes from a pureblood family. But, I've never heard of the Riddles."
"Those are very good points boy." A gruff voice spoke from behind Sirius, causing him to startle and turn around. Behind Sirius stood Charlus Potter. Still in his auror robes, Charlus was a very intimidating character, but the beaming smile on his face cancelled all that out.
"James, go tell our guest that we are all meeting your mum at Diagon Alley for a dinner out. You'll get your answers then, Sirius." Without another word, the patriarch of the Potter family swept off toward the Master bedroom to change out of his work clothing.
