Inseparable.

Izaya pushed open his apartment door. He walked inside while Shizuo closed it with his foot. Izaya headed for his leather black couch and laid down on it, circling his arms around his head and sighing, feeling better that he was at home than outside.

He raised his head, finding Shizuo on the opposite couch across from him. The silence between them was deafening, Shizuo wasn't even looking at him. Izaya glared and rolled over on his side. "I'm bored, Shizu-chan!"

Shizuo grunted, more infuriated by the arrogant nickname Izaya keeps on identifying him by. "You were the one who wanted to come back here in the first place."

Izaya frowned, unsatisfied. He was about to say something to irritate the brute, just to get rid of the tension in the room, instead Namie walked in rather casually. She stopped when she noticed both Izaya, her cunning and manipulating boss, and the blond whom Izaya talks about constantly as being the annoying part of Ikebukuro.

She immediately ignored the growing tension between them and looked towards Izaya who was waving at her, a sweet smile spread across his face that was meant to be mocking. She glared at him like she always did when they were in each others presence.

"I'm done for today. I'll see you tomorrow morning." Namie didn't want to stick out so she hurried out of Izaya's apartment before Izaya could think of something for her to do that would be completely pointless.

Izaya chuckled, sitting up as he heard the click of the door. "Isn't she wonderful."

Shizuo however rolled his eyes at Izaya's sarcastic tone of appreciation. "I felt a disgusting aura between the two of you," Shizuo commented, getting a confused frown by Izaya, "Must be mutual hatred." Shizuo got up from the couch and headed over to Izaya's computer, he sat down on the spinning comfy leather chair and spun around.

Izaya got off the couch and followed Shizuo. "Remember the time we met in high school. That was hilarious," Izaya said, placing both elbows on the table that held his computer and some printed files.

Shizuo grumbled at the insignificant memory. Izaya, at the time was a lot more ruthless than he was now. He's particularly the same in some odd way, except unlike in high school they can now stand each others presence without trying to kill one another.

"Sure. Whatever you say you masochistic freak," Shizuo sharply spat, Izaya however was used to verbal abuse and smiled cheerfully in reply.

"And that other time," He murmured.

Izaya went on for awhile about stories when they were in high school. The constant fighting, black mail, abuse, death threats and the mutual scars they gave each other. Shizuo had dozed off while spinning around in the chair, until a rather interesting image appeared in his mind. He stopped, a grin plastered on his face as he looked up to Izaya who dropped his smile into a frown after seeing Shizuo's change in character.

"I remember an embarrassing little incident, obviously in your nature you buried it." Shizuo sat back into the chair, a light chuckle escaped his lips.

Izaya tilt his head to the side, curious of what Shizuo meant. "What do you mean?"

Shizuo thought for a moment, pulling everything he could remember at the front of his mind. "It was on a Friday, I think. After school I was finished with the track team and was about to head home when you showed up saying you 'loved me'." Shizuo erupted in laughter.

Izaya grimaced as he tried to remember what Shizuo had just said. Then his face flushed. He, Shinra and Dotachin were trying out a drug one of the students gave them, Izaya taking most of it thought at the time that everything was a dream. He wandered around school, losing Shinra and Dotachin somewhere he couldn't remember, instead he was face-to-face with a scowling Shizuo, then the words slipped out with an odd giggle with it. They both didn't tell anyone what happened. Mostly out of pride.

"It wasn't that funny," Izaya growled indifferently.

Shizuo calmed down after thinking for a second, he shrugged his shoulders, "I guess it wasn't after I caught you."

"I don't get it?"

Shizuo rolled his eyes at Izaya's perplexed expression. "Geez. You of all people stalked me for two weeks until I realized you were following me."

Izaya's cheeks tinted an embarrassed pink, his infamous grin spread across his face. "Yeah. That was funny, all the boring unnecessary things I learned from you, but oh wells. I need to take a shower, are you staying over?" Izaya asked him, he slipped off his jacket and threw it on the couch.

"Yeah sure," Shizuo said, glancing towards the kitchen, he got up while Izaya disappeared upstairs towards his bedroom. He opened his wardrobe and took out a pair of pajamas.

Downstairs, Shizuo drank half of Izaya's carton of milk. Satisfied, he placed it back into the fridge. He headed upstairs and heard the bathroom door down the hall close shut. He walked inside Izaya's room and found in a rather vulnerable state on Izaya's neatly made king sized bed was his cellphone.

Shizuo smirked at the opportunity lying there alone while Izaya took his beloved daily shower. He grabbed it and laid down on the bed. Wondering what he'll find.
