Luke's POV
Luke walked over to the line. He knew that he was one of those who needed to be judges, so he didn't even try for the e-z lane. As he waited in line, he though over his life. From living with his mom, to her insanity, to his life with Thalia and Annabeth. Luke hung his head. He had failed them. Both of them. Whatever punishments he was given, he knew that he deserved.
It was only Annabeth who had saved him in the end. He had always wanted to watch out for her. Especially after what happened with Thalia. But he had failed her. He was supposed to be her big brother, but instead he had failed her. And Thalia, even if he hadn't died, she had turned her back on him. She had joined the hunters. Any future they might've ever had was shattered. The line slowly moved forward. So did Luke.
He rembered the day that Thalia had made her last stand. The day she'd sacrificed herself. He'd cursed the gods so much that day for his pain. It a wonder he wasn't struck down right then and there. He blamed Hermes, Zeus, Hera, all of the gods for being such dead-beat parents. He hadn't been able to believe that they would let this happen to her. He waited, wanting to strike back at the gods, when he heard Kronos' voice. He whispered into Luke's mind. Confirming his feelings about the gods using them. He had fallen for it. Acting as Kronos' spy. Stealing the lightning bolt and trying to kill Percy Jackson. He hoped the guy was doing alright. Taking care of Annabeth.
Then he had agreed to go back home and get his mother's blessing. He was dipped into the River Styx and to be honest. He had never told anyone, but that night, Thalia had been his lifeline. She was the only thing keeping him anchored in the mortal world. But hearing about her joining the Hunters of Artemis. That really broke his heart. So he ignored it. He tried to forget Thalia. He wanted Annabeth to come with him. But every time that he say monsters, especially Cyclopes, he couldn't help but think of her.
Finally it was Luke's turn. He dreaded going through the gate, but he knew he had to. He deserved it. For hurting Thalia and Annabeth and Percy Jackson, and all the others. Ethan Nakamura, Silena Beauregard, Charlie Beckendorf, and so many others that he's hurt, killed or led astray. He braced his shoulders and went in.
A.N: So I'm thinking of adding some Annabeth in here too. Her feelings after Luke's death. Let me know in the comments what you think of this idea.
