Lianna blinked her eyes as she looked out at the stars. She could feel all around her, and not like normal like she was just noticing there was objects but it was like she could feel everything, know what was happening all around her, how she did not know but honestly she didn't care. She had no interest in what was happening around them just the beauty of the endless star-scape. Unfortunately her view was blocked as a group of fighters went by, filthy republic, followed by her own glorious pilots. She smirked as she heard one of the newcomers to the bridge shout at her to surrender. She almost wanted to laugh at the idea. Her surrender? That was absolutely ludicrous, the idea that they could possibly take her? Now that was even funnier. She slowly turned to face them a tiny team of Jedi and one soldier who were no match for herself.
But wait, she was a republic scout, she was no match for these Jedi, no match for the men and women who were stood before her. They had already drawn their weapons and the Jedi had ignited them, no they wouldn't win, even if they charged now, she wouldn't bother with her sabre, they were pathetic, fearing the power the dark side imbued her and all that used it with.
She reached out, withwhat she did not know, she could feel them, their presence in her mindbarely there compared to the huge shadow that engulfed the ship, pinpricks in the dark. She stood waitingfor them to move she could feel her body grow tense, why. Danger. She barely had time to turn her head to look before bolt after bolt slammed not only into her cruiser but its bridge as a friendly vessel fired upon them.
Lianna tossed and turned as two humans watched her sleep, neither daring to get close. They studied her and she could feel them watching. Lianna gasped,'I need to wake, but I need to escape the burning rubble around me, wake later, first escape, she cant escape without me. But they will kill you, wake now. No!'
Lianna shot up her hand raised with palms towards the two watchers. One of the Jedi instantly drew there sabre and raised a force barrier but nothing happened. Lianna looked over at her hand. 'Why did I do that again? There is no reason to do that. I am not a Jedi I don't control the force... so why does it feel natural?'
"Where am I?" She whispered. They seemed familiar but she was confused as to why that was? She hadn't met them before, had she? Yes she had... Once a long time ago... But yet again, she had just met them for the first time today... No the long time ago was the... No this is the first time... This is my life, these are new faces, never seem despite what the screaming says, 'I do notknow them.'
"We are on Taris. Do you remember what happened" the female asked her most deadly weapon now away, making Lianna feel safer, but was still on full alert.
'Her sabre is away but her deadliest weapon is always accessible, no matter how much pain or struggle.'
"I... there was a ship, I was -'
'DO NOT TELL HER WHAT YOU SAW!' a voice screamed at her.
'- Sleeping, then an ensign, Trask I think it was, he woke me... We fought Sith, then we found you and headed to the escape pods... Then, nothing," The petite female whispered her sentence broken up by struggled thoughts.
The male cleared up what she had forgotten "We crash landed in the city, part of our landing procedure failed. Probably damage from the battle caused it to fail".
"When the friendly fired on us?" Lianna asked
'SILENCE.'
"We were alone, what friendly do you mean?" The Jedi knight asked her hand tightening on the blade.
"I... I thought... I must of dreamt it..."
"You must of dreamt it little one. Let me introduce my self I am Melina, Jedi Knight of the Jedi Order" The older of the two women said as she looked at the woman who was now sitting up on the bed. "And the older male with us is Carth Onasi"
Carth went to protest but the Jedi raised her hand "It was a simple fact of your age" She said looking at him then back to the younger woman. "Now we need to discuss strategy now that we are all awake, and no one needs baby sitting."We need to find Bastila, she is vital to the war effort, she cannot fall into enemy hands. I propose that we find a way into the lower city, there are rumours both Carth and I have heard that suggest that many Republic escape pods were found there, it is possible she is hidden away somewhere down there. We must meet with her and arrange a way to escape this planet."
'Good use them to escape, then we can begin anew.' "When do we begin searching?" Lianna asked looking at the other woman.
"Now. We will go into the cantina and see what we can find out, usually a good place to start." Carth said standing quickly. Both women followed him in getting up. Lianna shook her head she had gotten up too quickly, she was thirsty and hungry but wouldn't say anything. As a soldier of the republic she had endured worse. Beside she could get food when she got to the cantina.
As they exited the room they were using as a hideout they were greeted by a very unwelcome sight. A Sith trooper stood facing them with two war droids their guns pointed at two aliens, Duros by the looks of them, least she thinks they are, could be anything. Unfortunately she sees one of the xenos say something to the Sith and barely a moment later he is dead, blast marks on his chest. And that's where the day just got worse. The Sith instantly recognised them as being out of place. After all three humans in an alien only apartment block, coming out of one of the homes, well it was kind of obvious that something was up.
Melina quickly drew a sword rather than her sabre for fear of giving too much away, she leapt at the nearest droid and severed its head from its body. Lianna hit the deck as a bolt flew at her before leaping to her feet her blade quickly drawn and tearing the hands off of one of the droids. The Sith soldier turned to run but before he made ten paces two bolts hit him in the back felling him.
The alien stepped back a few paces fearing this team encase they turned their attention on him. He prepared to speak before Lianna cut him off. "Your welcome," she said in Durese getting a look from Carth and Melina. The Duros thanked them then quickly left.
Lianna thought back,'I swear I knew no other languages... I had never learnt any. I hate languages... no I love them, the hundreds of words, how some sounded romantic and others harsh and brutal... no I do hate them. They confuse me. I could never understand them. These feelings are false they are not myown, I need to push them aside, embrace my own thoughts not these fantasies.'
Lianna shook her head a few times her head bowed before opening her eyes to look at her new, friends?
"Are you okay? You seem to be spacing out." The pilot looked at her with worry she could see and feel he was worried for her safety. But why it was a momentary headache. Nothing more.
"I assure you Carth I am perfectly fine, just still waking up, lets... lets go to the cantina hopefully we will find something useful in there."
Slowly the party moved through the crowded apartment block, despite the Sith presence not moments ago everybody went on like nothing happened, a man cleaned the halls, children played and people pushed and shoved to get through the block to the next one. The three soldiers made their way out of the block and onto the open sky walk, fresh air blew over them as they looked around. The catwalk was worse. With a population to rival Coruscant it self the streets were crowded. Not as much as usual due to the Sith soldiers who scared most of or kept aliens off of the streets during the day but still not easy to move in. As they walked directly across from where their hideout lay they listened to the people around them hoping they would hear some useful information. At the edge of the platform laid their escape pod.
Barely metres away from falling all the way down to the under-city which would have been far worse, but what was more scary was the droids and men. Forensic droids searched for any information left, DNA samples, finger prints, anything that would lead to the escaped crew members who watched from nearby. Eight armoured men stood around the site in their polished armour. The crowd stayed way back, no one daring get closer than ten metres.
Entering a covered walk way Lianna noticed a small weapon shop, 'that could be useful,' but regardless of that thought she moved on, she wanted to get food, a drink and then, she would act on the need for better weapons.
Entering the doors Lianna gagged. This place reeked. Second thought, food could wait as she doubted she could stomach any food with this odour. She began working the crowd. She moved through losing her companions her athletic but small body moving her between all the people drinking and doing whatever they were doing, some she dared not ask what they were doing, she ignored the Pazaak tables, god she hated that game. Nothing to do with her being bad at it, definitely not. Just a terrible game.
In the corner she saw a small party that some people were giving a wide berth to. But why they didn't seem... Sith.' They were Sith soldiers, and one had locked eyes with her. She smirked and turned away, she had caught someone's interest. 'Good. A Sith should know something'. She walked up to the bar and ordered two drinks and waited. She felt the woman's presence behind her before she could see or hear her. "Hey beautiful, have we met? And Thanks for the drink" A soft voice whispered that was way to familiar. 'No it isn't familiar Lianna, you have never met this person!'
Lianna looked over "Who says that the drink was for you?" she said her cheeks red from the comment.
"I had a suspicion," The blonde woman's hair was up in a bob that was hidden by a simple captains hat. Dark Imperial grey. Standard issue to all commissioned officers as part of dress uniform and relaxation uniform. 'Wait... how do I know that...'
"Then you better have a seat aye?" Lianna said gesturing to the seat the woman quickly occupied it. "I'm Sarna"
'She's lying her name is... no you don't know her do you Lianna. She is a new face. A Sith an enemy!'
"Nice to see someone around here that isn't instantly scared off by a strong woman." The Sith looked up and noticed two people watching them. "Hey there is a party tonight, you should come, we can talk again then" She said handing the red head a small note with the address, as went to take the note she felt the woman grab her hand and pull her close, "Glad your alive, always with you, General."
The grey glad woman stepped back and gave the other female a polite salute before walking over to the other men and woman she had been with who all promptly left, Lianna assuming heading to the Sith base that was nearby, it was not going to be easy getting in there. At least not with the lock that the base used and then there is... wait... what was I thinking.
Lianna looked over at her companions who approached "I may have a lead, or at least a way into the lower-city, there is a party tonight, and these people may have something that might help us to get into there, maybe even get us further down if need be."
"How can going to a party help at all with getting down there? We should be looking for concrete leads" Melina said disappointed by the woman thinking some silly party would actually help, they were in a rush they did not have time to go gallivanting off to have fun.
"The people having the party, are umm Sith soldiers"
"No! Absolutely not, you would be discovered and then Bastila would be lost. How could you be so careless? Did you tell her anything?"
"No I didn't have time with your damn constant watching" Lianna growled "I am not a baby... see if you can find anything out about well anything, I am going to head back to the hideout and rest, I need something to eat and I saw some food dispensers near our door." Without waiting for a response she was gone. Headed down to the place they hoped would shield them from discovery.
