Chapter 1
Brian sighed, walking along the beach in the early morning light and a light sweat already starting to build on his brow. The sun was making a fiery path across the water and making it glow as it began its ascent. 'How long has it been since I have slowed down enough to relax,' He wondered silently. Brian felt something in him release as he sat watching the sun beginning its trek up into the sky. Nothing had quite felt the same since beginning his cross-country escape, and it had been months since Brian had even tried to relax for a minute or two.
Hearing light footfalls coming up behind him, Brian turned partially to see who was nearing and relaxed upon seeing a jogger. He nodded cordially at the jogger, who gave his own silent acknowledgment, and they both went back to their own thoughts or activity.
Sighing softly again to himself as thoughts wander off with ideas of finding some place to stay. It had been two weeks since he arrived in Miami with intentions to keep a low profile but he was running low on funds again. He would need a method to earn some quick and easy cash fast. A week ago, he had met some racers in a club who let him know there were a few big races happening around town in the coming week. They told him to meet with the local point man to get see about a buy in for a race, and had let slip Tej, local point man, owned a garage down by the canal. They had stated Brian would be in for a surprise as racing in Miami was quite different from other places, and so instead of attempting to race tonight, he's planning on observing them and attempting to meet this Tej.
Walking back up the beach to his vehicle sitting in the far side of the parking lot. Brian grinned as he looked over the new Silver Nissan Skyline with blue accents, remembering how he had won the vehicle off another racer before he crossing Florida's state line. Not much besides thinking about the racing his new Japanese imported Skyline made him giddy. Though, being able to upgrade the Skyline was a close second.
Brian climbed into the driver's seat and started his vehicle wondering how long he would have before someone from his past came looking or got notified of his whereabouts. He smoothly shifts car into reverse, backing out of parking space before transitioning to first gear and rolling out of parking lot. Time to get the show on the road.

Brian sat leaning against the Skyline watching as people walked by appreciating his vehicle and its attractive driver. People were inspecting his blond hair and golden tanned skin as much as the icy look in his very blue eyes. Most were intimidated, while some were aroused by his lithely muscled form and dangerously good looks.
He watched the first few races and identified the point man and categorized racers by skill and monetary worth based on cars and the buy in races. After the latest race had finished, a dark-skinned male with dark brown eyes and cornrowed black hair approached slowly while perusing the silver Nissan Skyline.
"Ya planning to race this beauty?" The man asked.
Brian grinned, "Not tonight man but I am looking for the local point man to see about racing another night."
The dark-skinned man looked both car and driver over carefully before holding out his hand, "Name's Tej and I'm the point man in Miami."
Brian smiled and shook Tej's hand as he introduced himself, "Brian." He grinned and they released hands while he questioned, "Are there any races I can get in on this week?"
Tej smirked, "There may be a race or one can be organized. They will be small fry but we can see if the bigger players will take a shot. Just what are you willing to do for it?" Tej was testing how this new player on the scene would behave and react to his provocation.
Brian narrowed icy blue eyes slightly then wipe any look from his features. "Depends on what you're meaning, Bruh. A buy in race, no problem. Otherwise, I might tell you to fuck off, man." Brian stated this with a dangerous glint in blue eyes.
Tej grinned bigger, "I think we'll get along fine and a buy in is the way to entice most of the bigger or better racers. Besides, I don't swing that way, bruh." He mocked before grinning. "We can work something out."
Brian's features relaxed and a small grin softened them more and blues slightly warmed, "Sure we can. Would you know of any cheap places to rent or stay for a while?"
Tej nodded, "There are a few places but how long will ya need a place to stay?"
Brian relaxed, "While I'm in town, not sure of how long that will be yet."
Tej understood, "I have some rooms that I rent out to racers from time to time that are off the books as running from someone or something isn't easy."
Brian tensed and observed this man, Tej, closely wondering how he guessed.
Tej shrugged and stated, "Seen others look the same as you and normally they running away from somethin' bad. I'm not gonna ask or judge, just let me know before shit hits the fan. Now, I'm gonna go check out those fine bodies right over there." He walked away but before calling back, "Come over to the garage tomorrow and see about getting you a place to stay. We'll talk over all the details tomorrow, man."
Brian nodded and stated, "Thanks." He watched Tej walk away and was grateful for the break being given. 'Things aren't looking as bad,' Brian thought while observing Tej making the rounds and speaking with others in the racing crowd. 'Maybe I can take a breather before moving on.' People began to clear out and Brian drove off intent on finding a hotel for the night.
