Chapter 2: The Amazing Night Out
The group happily got in the limo ready for the night to come. As the limo was about leave, May came running up and jumped in. She gasped for air now that she was safe inside.
"I made it!" She exclaimed.
"Yea, you finally showed up." Layla commented.
May settled into her seat as the limo began to move. "You guys were going to leave without me?!"
"We thought you weren't coming," Mia mumbled.
The restaurant was at the center of town, so the ride shouldn't be too long. May asked the driver to turn on the radio and began to sing along. Everyone groaned as they covered their ears. May's singing was really just her yelling out a butchered version of the lyrics to songs.
Leon felt his irritation grow. While tonight was meant for celebration, he could only handle so much and he was already at his limit. Eventually, when his ears couldn't bear the sound of her singing/yelling any longer, he ordered the driver to turn off the music.
May complained, but no one cared as long as they got to keep their eardrums in tact.
The rest of the ride was chaotic. May still sang random songs to herself, Mia was expressing her ideas out loud, and Sarah was trying to show Rosetta how to do some karate moves in a moving vehicle for god's sake! Leon was about to burst.
He picked up his book and started to read, thinking that it would calm him down. Unfortunately, it didn't. Luckily though, everyone was saved from his wrath when they pulled up to the restaurant. It looked exclusive. For that, he was glad due to its privacy. Leon didn't enjoy large crowds or much social interaction. This group alone was a hand full for him.
As the Kaleido cast walked in, Layla walked up to the host stating that they had a reservation. Sora and May couldn't help but be in awe by her grace.
The host seated them to their table. It was in the back of the restaurant, far away from the main dining area. Layla sat at the head of the table with Yuri to her right and Sora to her Left. Leon took a next to his partner. If all goes wrong tonight, Sora was the only one who could get his nerves to calm down. The whole gang was here.
They each took their turn to order with Layla leading the pack.
"I'll have the Filet mignon, medium, with a side of broccoli. Lemon on the side of the plate, make sure it is on the left and that the broccoli is steamed and lightly seasoned."
She glanced at the rest of the table to make sure they were all ready too and found that everyone was looking at her. "What, too much?"
"Ya think?" May mumbled under her breath.
Everyone else ordered, though their orders were far simpler than Ms. Hamilton's. The rest of the night went well. Everyone talked and congratulated the two stars. May noted that side coversations were beginning to form as well. Layla and Yuri were talking about Layla's new play, while Anna, Sarah, Mia, Ken, and Rosetta were talking about some comedy show they wanted to see. Leon and Sora stayed on neutral ground, making small talk. Both were still confused and nervous to admit their feelings.
"What the hell are you guys mumbling over there?" May blurted out.
Sora and Leon turned their heads to look at her. Everyone else looked at May, and then Sora and Leon who had unknowingly moved closer together as their conversation went on.
"Is anything wrong?" Sarah asked.
Before Leon and Sora could make an excuse, May answered for them as she stood up and pointed at them. "They seem awfully close to one another and over there whispering sweet nothings to each other." She yelled a little too loud, "Are you guys going out or something?!"
Despite the group being in a private area, the restaurant carried an echo. Everyone in the restaurant looked at her and she found herself leaning on the edge of the table. For once, she quietly sat down, a bit embarrassed, but then in a quieter tone, "well, are you?"
The stars looked at each other. There was confusion in both of their eyes. Surely, they didn't know what to think of the situation. Instead, both just shrugged.
May did not accept that as answer. "it's either a yes or a no!"
Knowing Wong wouldn't let this go, Sora opened her mouth to speak, but it was Leon who interrupted. "Okay, you got us. Yes we are. In fact, we've been dating for awhile now." He chuckled to himself.
Sora just looked at him. Everyone looked at them. Without warning, May stood up again and screamed, "Sora Naegina and Leon Oswald are going out?!"
Again, that statement was a little too loud, as Sora's face began to heat up and become red, while Leon stayed fairly neutral in his expression though he was freaking out in his head. They didn't think she was going to say it like that. I mean, they weren't even going out; Leon just wanted to put May in her place.
"Could you excuse us for a minute?" Sora asked everyone as she laughed nervously, pushing Leon up from his chair.
When they were both outside, Sora started taking deep breaths in and out. "What are we going to do?"
Leon honestly hadn't thought of the repercussions when he jokingly made the statement. A part of him knew that they could just go back in and say that it was all a joke, but part of him also wanted to go along with it.
He looked at his partner as she was trying to think of a way they could remedy the situation. He shrugged, "I was thinking, if we did go out, it wouldn't be as bad." He mumbled the line and looked away, but Sora could hear it clearly.
"What?! Are you sure?" She questioned Leon.
"If you want to, of course." He put his hands in his pocket and looked off to the side, nervous to look her expression right now. This was crazy after all, right? Did he really just suggest they go out?
Sora felt her body slowly heat up and could feel her cheeks redden. Her locked up feelings were slowly starting to come out, and she had come to terms that she did have feelings for Leon beyond being just partners, but she didn't think that he had felt the same way. "I-I guess that would be okay."
The two walked bck inside the restaurant. Everyone was eyeing them, and Sora, still frazzled by their discussion outside, threw on a smile like nothing happened. "Hey everyone! Sorry about that, I just needed fresh air."
Everyone looked back down, as Leon was giving them an evil glare. His arm was swung around Sora's shoulder and he pulled her closer to him.
"So they are going out, after all." May mumbled still in disbelief.
Sora and Leon sat back down in their seats and continued on with the funpacked night as if none of that nonsense ever went on. Of course, the evening proved to be beneficial in the progression of their relationship. Sora and Leon are finally dating!
