Oceana.

"Fifteen men on a dead man's chest, yo ho ho and a bottle of rum," I sing softly as my crew and I sneak aboard the Howl of Hell. "Charlotte!" I address her.

"Aye?" her eyebrows rise over iridescent green eyes.

"Round the crew up; give me your signal. I'm going after the captain."

"Aye, Cap'n." She nods and signals the rest of the crew to invade the ship. I pad toward the captain's door where the lamp was still lit. I draw my sword slowly; hold it in front of me and stand still, watching for Charlotte.

I see her hand go up on the other side of the ship and I turn towards the door, I silently open it.

"Thought you could catch me that easily, eh?" A voice sounds from my left; I hear the cock of a pistol and shiver as the cold metal is pressed to my temple. "Eh lad?"

"'Course not," I say loud and clear.

"So the lad is a lass, eh?" He grins and knocks my hat off my head, letting my long raven hair fall to my waist.

"Eh!" I yell, automatically reaching out for the hat. "That's mine!" I lean forward and he presses the gun into the nape of my neck.

"I didn't get your name," he says.

"I didn't give one," I grin wickedly.

"You mind?" he asks, "I'd like to know whom I am killing."

"I go by Oceana," I say knowing that I've made myself very vulnerable; giving out my true name isn't something to be done lightly. I hear the clatter of his pistol hitting the wooden floor.

"A pirate eh?" he breathes, "like me..."

"Like you?"

"I'm your father."

I feel my guard go up, "My father is gone."

"But not dead," he pleads, "Cursed by my father, Triton."

"You were claimed by the sea." Triton? The god?

"Unable to leave."

"Dead to me."

"Aye," he sighs, "Well Oceana, good bye." I bend to sweep up his pistol and I aim it at him.

"Bye," I say in monotone and pull the trigger, leaving the blast ringing in my ears. I resheath my sword and walk to the door; I halfway turn my face towards his body, and repress the urge to ask of my god lineage. He can't answer anything, now. I walk along the railings and watch the waves in the dark.

"Oceana!" I hear Charlotte's voice call.

"Aye," I say nodding towards the captains' quarters, "Get Richard to clean up my mess."

"Aye, aye!" she grins.

"Any of you fear dying?" I call out to my fathers' crew. No one moves. I turn towards the rails once more, "Kill them." I listen to the symphony of swords against flesh as I watch the moons reflection on my only love, the sea.
