Chapter 2- A Bento just for you.
It was oddly comfortable, I couldn't tell why but everything around me felt warm and soft and whatever that smell was, was perfect in her mind. Her breathing was slow and steady as she held onto Aikawa tightly. "Pony," I heard someone calling out to me softly, but for some reason it was a lot easier to pass it off and ignore it. Why bother me when I was so comfortable? "Hey Pony," there it was again. This time I grunted with slightly annoyance that I was being disturbed from my sleep, I was tired couldn't they just leave me alone for a little while?
"If you don't wake up I'll just have to kiss you awake," I heard someone mention something though it came a lot clearer since whoever this person was had been trying to wake me up, they were persistent about it. My eyes fluttered open as I was greeted with the blurry sight of my house, strange… I could have sworn I was in bed under my covers. "So a kiss it is," he heard before realizing that I had my arms wrapped around someone's neck as I felt someone carrying me. I shrieked with shock only to hear Aikawa laugh as he gently set me down, "Finally," he teased as he handed me my bag. My cheeks burned with embarrassment as I gave him an apologetic look, I have fallen asleep without realizing and well it occurred to me that he had suggested kissing me. I held my bag tightly to myself while biting down on my lower lip as he smiled. "Go get some sleep, you deserve it," he whispered as he placed his hand over my head gently for a brief moment before pressing his lips against my cheek. It had happened so quickly because the moment I blinked I saw him continue down the street. "Thank you!" I shouted as he was further down the street as he turned and smiled wishing me good night.
I stayed out there for a little while longer until I couldn't see him anymore. Finally I turned and unlocked the front door only to see that the house was pitch dark. There was a note on the kitchen table mentioning that mom and dad were out on another business trip. It obviously meant that I had to make sure I made breakfast for myself and of course wake up on time. Immediately I went up to take a shower knowing it was badly needed and just as I was drying my hair my phone rang. My thoughts had been preoccupied with a certain male basketball player that I hadn't realized that the caller was Mumu.
"Are you trying to give me a heart attack?" I heard her say only to snap out of my thoughts. "Ah, Mu… sorry. I wanted to get in some extra practice and time just slipped right past me, I hadn't realized I had been there so late until Aikawa came," I explained only to hear her sigh. I knew I must have worried her since my parents left me alone quite often. There was that and also the fact that we were very close almost like sisters. "Well as long as you're safe, but seriously let me know next time. I get worried," she replied and I smiled a little knowing that she was probably frowning and causing wrinkles to form, not that I'd ever mention that to her. "I will Mu, I'm sorry but I'm going to head to bed now, I'll see you tomorrow! Night!" I spoke before hanging up as I moved straight to my bed. My long blonde locks were finally dry as I rested my head on the pillow. "I can't believe he really kissed me," I whispered to myself as my fingers brushed over my cheek.
I wasn't sure how long it had taken me to fall asleep, but I knew I was lacking it when I was woken up by my alarm at 5 in the morning. I had set it a little earlier so I could make myself some breakfast and a bento for lunch, last night had been great. I didn't know why but thinking about was enough just to make me flush. It was always like that, whenever we were alone he would show a more aggressive side, not that I didn't like it. I just didn't know how to react. We hadn't confessed our feelings but a part of me knew that there was something between us.
That morning I decided on making something easy for breakfast since I wanted to make a bento for Aikawa and myself. I was used to cooking since my parents were out most of the time so it was pretty easy to do. I figured since Aikawa lived alone he didn't have time to make himself anything nice, plus he was always too busy for it. Once I was done I cleaned up, packed everything got dressed and left home for school.
Around 7 in the morning I had reached and was seen in the halls, I had hoped that Mu was in already so I could double check my English work with her. Despite being captain she was pretty good with her studies as well, honestly I have no idea where she even has the time for work. Even I struggled to get assignments done with the amount of practice time Ms H gives us. It was seconds later that my thoughts had come to abrupt stop as I felt myself collide with someone in the hall. Gasping with surprise I steadied myself only to see Yuuki who had fallen down.
"I'm sorry!" I spoke as I quickly offered my hand though she quickly took it and stood up wiping the dirt off her skirt. "That's fine! I wasn't watching where I was going, but I'm glad I bumped into you! Yesterday was so much fun, don't you think so? I've never seen anyone who's able to land a shot without missing!" I blinked with surprise as she continued to ramble on about yesterday's match. It blew my mind that she could get so excited about something so small, it was a fun game yes, but I had a lot more fun playing in competitions and tournaments.
"Sorry Yuuki, but I've got to see Mu for a bit," I explained only for her grin to widen. "Oh really? I just saw her just now! I'll come along, since we're going to be on the same team I figured it'd be best to be informed on anything that's going on!" She stated with a perky smile though I wasn't really sure on what to say. I gave her a weak smile and nodded since I didn't have the heart to tell her no. It ended up in her following me until I found Aikawa speaking with Takumi, without thinking last night's events had hit me and I was eager to go over and say hi. Taking in a deep breath I took a step forward towards them only to get pushed aside as Yuuki shoved me to walk over to Aika, immediately greeting him as she bowed. It had just occurred to me that she was following me, though I seemed to have forgotten it when I saw Aikawa, still though being pushed to the side wasn't exactly a good feeling. Yuuki tried her best to engage Aikawa in conversation but Takumi had grown annoyed that he insisted to sit down since class was beginning. "Want to join me for lunch?" Yuuki shouted rather loudly as everyone blinked with surprise, though Aikawa smiled in return. He didn't see why he couldn't since she was new he figured she had lots of questions to ask.
I however was astonished at her behavior, she had simply asked him out just like that. Something that I could never do, not with my level of confidence. Frowning now I sat down only to see her rush back to my side, wishing I had gotten to ask him. I had even made him lunch too… "Did you see that? He totally agreed!" Yuuki spoke happily as she sat down with a dreamy smile. "Um, well since we're on the same team and everything it couldn't hurt to tell you this but I think I'm in love with Aikawa! His basketball skills are amazing and well he's pretty cute," I heard her confess as I turned to stare with wide eyes. Had I heard that correctly? Yuuki was in love with Aikawa despite only having met him yesterday?
"What?" I asked softly only for her to grab my hands. Holding them tightly she gave me the puppy eye's, "please support me! I'm new around here and well I hope to make things work. I probably sound really weird I mean I just met him yesterday but we're friends right?" she cooed only for her to stare at her with confusion. She had to be joking. Surely she did, yet those eyes of hers told a different story. One that I was reluctant to hear.
A/N: There you go! Chapter 2 completed. It's a little shorter than the first, but I do like it a lot more compared to the original that was written. I hope it was good, please do leave a Review to let me know your thoughts about this! Thanks and have a lovely day.
