Adapted from the screenplay by Ted Elliott & Terry Rossio

(Elizabeth sits alone on the beach in the rain, holding a bouquet of white flowers, while men row ashore, enter smithy, bring Will over to her, in manacles)

Elizabeth (runs to him): Will! Why is this happening?

Will: I don't know. You look beautiful.

Elizabeth: Yeah, well, we already know that, smartypants. …I think it's bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the wedding.

Will (looking around): Quick! Find a four-leaf clover! We need it, and we need it fast!

(Elizabeth starts to run off and look for one, but they are surrounded on all sides by men; she sees her father, Governor Swann, running towards them)

Elizabeth (waving to Governor desperately): Pops! Over here!

Governor Swann: Make way, yeah?! Let me through! (is blocked by crossed long axes) How dare you, yeah?! Stand your men down at once! Do you hear me, yeah?!

Beckett (as coat is removed): Governor Weatherby Swann, it's been too long.

Governor Swann: Cutler Beckett, yeah?!

Beckett: It's Lord now, actually.

Elizabeth (sarcastically): Well, good for you.

Will (to Beckett): Are you sure they didn't make a mistake? Isn't there a height requirement for Lords?

Beckett: I'm not short! (although he really is)

Will: Well, you're definitely balding.

Governor Swann: Lord or not, you have no reason and no authority to arrest this man, yeah?!

Beckett: In fact I do. Mr. Mercer? (Mercer, who is considerably taller, bends down and hands Beckett the warrant, who then hands it to the Governor) The warrant for the arrest of one William Turner.

Governor Swann (stuttering, confused): But…this warrant is for Elizabeth Swann, yeah…?

Beckett: Oh, is it? That's annoying. My mistake. Arrest her.

Elizabeth (as she is put in shackles): On what charges?! DON'T HATE ME BECAUSE I'M BEAUTIFUL!

Will: No! I want my Mommy!

Beckett (reaching up to take another document from Mercer): Ah-ha. Here's the one for William Turner. (reaches up to hand it to Governor) And I have another one for a Mr. James Norrington. Is he present?

Elizabeth: What are the charges?! Is it because we're taller than you?!

Governor Swann: Commodore Norrington resigned his commission some months ago, yeah?

Beckett: I don't believe that's the answer to the question I asked.

Will: Lord Beckett! In the category of questions not answered…

Elizabeth: We are under the jurisdiction of the King's governor of Port Royal, and you will tell us what we are charged with.

Governor Swann: The charge…is conspiring to set free a man convicted of crimes against the crown and empire, and condemned to death, yeah, for which the…uh-oh.

Beckett: For which the punishment, regrettably, is also death. (Pause)

Will (turns to Elizabeth): This totally sucks.

Beckett: Perhaps you remember a certain pirate named Jack Sparrow.

Will and Elizabeth: Captain!

Elizabeth: Captain Jack Sparrow.

Beckett: Captain Jack Sparrow. Yes, I thought you might.
