This competition allows participants to use a minimum of twelve pokemon of any type."I think this will be good training for Ash," thought professor. Professor then went outside to show Ash this pamphlet. "What's this professor ? " asked, Ash
"Ash a new tournament is coming up in the kingdom of rota and you can register a maximum of twelve pokemon for the tournament, and the winner will get a surprise package too. This will be going to start next month, so you can train for that time," said professor "Ash this will be a good opportunity to train your pokemon that you haven't trained for a while," added professor
"Ok professor I will take part," said Ash as professor went inside
"So the pokemon who are going to battle are unfezant,leavany,corphish,boldore, scraggy,oshawott,torkol, Totodile, Noivern, Donphan, Glalie, and Snivy. Hope everyone is okay with this" asked Ash to which they nodded
Larvitar and meltan tapped Ash's leg and ask for the battle opportunity.
"Larvitar and mean I know you guys want to battle but I promise if we challenge first gyms then you two will be participating in them," said Ash
"But I want you to practice for battle with our friends first," said Ash to which they nodded. These twelve pokemon are happy that they are going to battle under Ash again. Totodile started to dance happily and torkol released smoke and tears in happiness, Noivern nibble on Ash's head and donphan started to roll out.
"Now guys let me see what moves you can learn," said Ash to which they nodded
"Snivy we can teach you seed bomb, synthesis, solar beam, double team, energy ball, protect, light screen, reflect. Torkoal you will work on earth power, eruption, double team, protect, stone edge, solar beam, flame charge as you already know fire spin, flame wheel, lava plume." said Ash "Wait, When did you learn fire spin, flame wheel, lava plume?" asked Ash while looking at the moves Torkoal knows at which torkol give confused look.
"Well, I can't blame you, you knew these moves from a long time and I didn't bother to check your stats," said Ash
"Totodile we will help you in learning focus punch, ice punch, water pulse, aqua jet, double team, protect, metal claw, hydro pump, ice beam, Shadow Claw. " said Ash as he is again amazed at the moves Totodile knows."You unlocked your ice fang, dragon dance. That's impressive! " Ash exclaimed while looking at current movesets of Totodile
"Glalie you will be learning the following moves: water pulse, shadow ball, gyro ball, dark pulse, protect, light screen, spikes, bide, disable. " said Ash "And you already know icy wind, powder snow, sheer cold, ice shard, ice fang, freeze-dry. That's kinda great" added Ash
"Hmm Noivern, it seems you need more move versatility in your Attack base," said Ash as he started to think what moves he can teach Noivern."so we can work on you learning Draco Meteor, sky attack, water pulse, protect, double team, shadow ball, flame thrower, x-scissor, and dark pulse,"added Ash as he continued to Donphan
"Donphan we can work on you learning stone edge and rock polish,Unfezant we can teach you hyper beam, Leavany we can work on your electroweb, magic coat, synthesis, iron defense, sunny day, solar beam and Giga we will work on you learning water pulse, aqua jet, icy wind, dig, ice beam and x-scissor. Boldore we can work on your new moves like gravity, and rock we will teach you dragon pulse, fire punch, ice punch, thunder punch, focus punch and finally dark pulse for now and Oshawott you will learn water pulse, ice beam, and x-scissor," said Ash too which they nodded
"Now listen up guys, I will be needing your help to teach our friends some new moves. So Tauros, Glalie, Talonflame and Swellow, I need you guys to help others to learn double team" said Ash to which they nodded."Tauros you help Pikachu, Bulbasaur, leavany,palpitoad, Snorlax,pignite,kingler,muk,rowlet,quilava in learning the double team. Glalie, you help totodile,donphan,bayleaf, noctowl,heracross,sceptile,corphish,lycanroc,torterra,infernape in learning double team. Swellow you help buizel,gliscor, gible, unfezant, oshawott, torracat,snivy, scraggy in learning the move double team and finally talonflame you help boldore, krookoodile,staraptor,noivern,hawlucha, and larvitar in learning the move double team" said Ash to which they nodded "And once you have finished with this, we will help our other team members in preparing them for tournament. In that time I ask for professor's help" added Ash
"Guys you learn double team while I ask professor's help on how to teach you guys TM, HM moves," said Ash to which they nodded as Ash went inside the lab. The four pokemon then started to give training to their teammates. "Okay everyone we are going to teach you on how to use double team. Now, look closely on our activity" said the pokemon to which others nodded as four pokemon created their copy surrounding them. To do so, focus your energy, close your eyes and imagine yourself splitting into multiple copies of yours and then try to execute the move" said Tauros, Swellow, Talonflame, and Glalie
As told, all other Pokemon tried to do the same and they failed as copies disappeared as soon as they formed."It's okay, splitting up of copies take time," said Glalie"Try until you are able to pull up the move," said of the pokemon started to try the move once again.
Two hours later, the sun is above the head shining bright releasing the high-temperature heat and the pokemon are closer to master the move double any delay they are able to create multiple copies of themselves which stays for good ten minutes before disappearing."Ok, guys, you can stop, and I am happy that you all have learned the move double team." said the Ash making his pokemon smile
"Pikachu what you think, how should we train meltan, Snorlax and rowlet, most of the time all three of them are sleeping" asked Ash at which Pikachu just shrugged
"Everyone today we all are doing some running and weight for that I want all flying types to fly for as long as you can. Water and fire types I want you guys to work on your breathing, for that try to hold your breath for some time and long as you can and then release it slowly and do this continuously so that your fire and water attacks can be strong.
Glalie I want you to practice rollout as fast as you can and glalie you work on your air maneuver by hovering up and down, left and right, front and back and diagonally as fast as you can so that your dodging could be increased. Bulbasaur,infernape,gible,krookodile and larvitar you guys work on your digging speed and others you guys work on by taking a running session around this ranch and I will be doing the same with you guys. Bulbasaur you help Corphish in learning Dig " said Ash to which his Pokemon nodded.
For the next sixty minutes, all pokemon did their exercises and Ash decides to stop."Ok, guys, I am happy so, for now, you can stop and take a rest. We will be doing some more training after two hours," said Ash to which they nodded

"Everyone hope you guys are now fully recovered from your training, " asked Ash to which his Pokemon nodded."Now we are going to learn one new move," said Ash as he opened the Pokedex."And, the move is shadow ball, I can see that right now muk, Snorlax,noctowl, glalie, and noivern are eligible to learn this move" said Ash
"So you guys come with me and others you can select your sparring partner and do some light battle practice" said Ash to which all of them, Noctowl, Glalie, and Noivern assembled in front of Ash"Now guys shadow ball is a ghost type special move, which is created by concentrating on shadow energy into small sphere" said Ash "Glalie, noctowl you guys have seen the execution of shadow ball in our previous battles right," asked Ash to which they nodded
"Now close your eyes and then bring out the ghostly energy and start to concentrate and once you feel it then try to accumulate it in front of you. Once it started to accumulate and big enough in the size then release it on the target" said Ash at which they nodded
"And one more thing this is all about aura, focus on your dark and ghostly aura to execute the attack," said Ash to which they all of sudden a shadow ball is approaching Ash and when it is about to hit Ash, meltan released a flash cannon attack and destroyed the incoming shadow ball
"Thanks, meltan, you saved me," said Ash picking up meltan as meltan rotated the hex nut against Ash's chest in happiness.
"Who are you," said Ash as a zorua showed itself."A zorua, but what a zorua is doing here all the way from Unova region," said Ash in confusion
"Ashy I missed you so much," said zorua in telepathy."Wait! You can use telepathy? " asked Ash
"Duh! obviously, that is the reason I am able to speak to you and you can understand me, " said zorua

"Welcome to the team zorua, " said Ash as he released her back outside."Zorua these are my pokemon friends, let me introduce you to them," said Ash as zorua started to meet everyone but the real trouble is about to begin soon as zorua started to use her shapeshifting abilities as at one time she is a noivern and on next second she is a cheerful totodile.
But then all of a sudden there were multiple pokemon could be seen in the sky flying towards the ranch."What's that, they seem like a flock of bird pokemon coming here," said Ash. After a few seconds, there were around twenty pidgeots and ten pidgeoto landed in the field with a majestic looking pidgeot in the middle
"Huh, pidgeots and pidgeotto," said Ash as he stepped towards him, his senses telling him that this pidgeot looking somewhat and other kantonian pokemon are observing it and after which they dashed towards the pidgeot and nuzzled him.
Ash looked at Pikachu and touched pidgeot. Getting no resistance to human touch and Pikachu's affection towards pidgeot which only means that he is none other than his pidgeot which he left to protect the flock and even he has a scarf around his neck, a familiar one.

"Is he dead, isn't it?" asked Ash silently to which pidgeot nodded making the Kanto native pokemon crying loudly which made zorua and other pokemon confused
"Why they are crying, " asked scraggy. "Don't know, maybe someone close to Ash's heart is dead !" said Torkoal as he started to release smoke in sadness

"You see, Bulbasaur sir told us that there was a butterfree in their group once, a bug type which Ash caught in the starting of his journey and they had to separate because Ash send him into the wild so that he can begin his own family, but as we know that bug types usually have low life expectancy when left in the wild to live on their own." said leavanny with tears started to flow from her face as well joined by heracross as they both are bugs.
"We can't lose you guys," said torterra to leavanny and heracross."But bug types can live up to thirty years when they are with their trainers," said buizel to which others nodded
"This is the reason Ash didn't catch bug type again as he didn't want to separate them from himself," said snivy."Maybe, but we pray for our unknown friend who is not with us anymore, " said Sceptile as he closed his eyes followed by other pokemon
"Pika pi pika," said Pikachu as he was crying
"Pidgeot, did someone killed butterfree," asked Ash to which he nodded."It seems he died while saving his swarm," said Ash at which pidgeot remained silent
"Pidgeot I want you to keep this scarf around your neck," said Ash as he wrapped the scarf again back to his neck."You can stay if you want" said Ash to which pidgeot turned and said something to his flock
"Guys, I will stay with my trainer again, I will stay with him for my whole guys are strong enough to protect them by all rules and regulation I make pidgeot alpha your remember that even if we are apart we will be always together. I promise when I am not traveling I will visit you guys" said pidgeot
"We respect your decision leader, after what your trainer did for us, he left you to protect us years back and now it is good that you stay with them, and we will not let our flock disappear, we will make the whole flock stronger than before" said the flock as they flew back towards the woods
"pidgeot you didn't go with them," asked Ash to which he declined as he pointed his wings at himself and then at Ash
"You want to stay here," asked Ash to which he nodded
"Welcome back to the team pidgeot,I kept these Pokeball from a very long time in case butterfree and you decided to join me again, but It seems butterfree would not make it ever" said Ash as he picks two Pokeball from his pocket and gently tap pidgeot's Pokeball on his beak after which he is captured successfully
Somewhere in the Kalos region, a butterfly pokemon is lying unconsciously in a cave until a certain frog pokemon said
"Greninja this pokemon, we have to save him, it's been a whole month, this pokemon was in a coma from that time," said the pokemon
"You are right, maybe he is lost, we have to see if this pokemon is wild or have a trainer," said Greninja

"You find this butterfree in the snowbelle city, we have to save him," said Sycamore."Sophia, come here we have an emergency case " said Sophia came she suggested that we should take butterfree to the pokemon center. "Professor, greninja was helping me and you are right we have to take this butterfree to the pokemon center," said zygard via telepathy
"Professor this pokemon is in the coma," said zygard."What, if this is the case then we have to take him to the pokemon center, meanwhile you can go and meet clemont and Bonnie " said Sycamore

"Hello professor, what happened," asked Clemont."Clemont, dedene and Bonnie, it's good to see you, how gym thing is going on and Bonnie you can get your trainers license tomorrow from me," said Sycamore. "We are good professor. The gym is free for now, no trainers challenging me for a while until league begins., said Clemont
"Hope you are not kicking out a new challenger out of prism tower," asked professor jokingly."Nope," Bonnie replied."Now for your question, greninja and squishy brought a butterfree who is in the comma, he is currently under observation for next few days until that butterfree regain his consciousness
" Oh that is so sad, by the way, professor, professor oak called us to help him, he wants us to send Greninja and Goodra back to Ash as he is starting his quest for the indigo league again," said Clemont making greninja happy

"Yipee, I got a legendary pokemon, " said Bonnie."Hey, professor, we need to visit the wetlands near Laverre city where goodra lives," said Bonnie.
"You can take garchomp, her speed can take you there in half an hour," said Sycamore
"By the way, professor could you make a call to professor oak and tell him that greninja is here," said Bonnie to which he nodded."Sure," said professor as he moved to an empty video phone booth where the professor started to make the call.
Back in Kanto region, Professor oak listened to the ringtone of a phone."Hello professor Sycamore," said Oak

"Well, that is sad to hear, but what pokemon is that," asked Sycamore. "Well it was a butterfree, but I don't know the full detail but what made you call me," asked Oak
"Well as per your request Greninja is here, he came here today on his own," said Sycamore." That's great, I am sending you Greninja's Pokeball, you can recall him and send him here," said professor oak."Ok" said Sycamore after which he received the Pokeball and faced the Greninja who is saying goodbye to Bonnie, Clemont, Dedene, and Squishy
"Bye Greninja, please visit us someday," said Clemont as he hugged the ninja frog as he vanished into the Pokeball
"Professor, here is greninja," said Professor Sycamore as he places Pokeball in pokemon transporter as on professor oak's side a Pokeball appeared."I got it, professor, I will call you later," said Professor Oak. "Sure, " said Sycamore as the call disconnected.
Ash is talking to pidgeot and zorua was translating it.
"So you found it near the snowbelle city," said Ash
"Yes, he and butterfree met in the snowbelle city when some wild pokemon attacked butterfree and his swarm due to territory issue. He fought them but he was already injured when pidgeot reached there. He recognized him as an old team member and tried to grab him but he only gets his scarf. His mate is dead along with his few swarm members. Other swarm members left him to die in the water. Before pidgeot could grab him he was in the river and the flow of the river was quite fast as he was already vanished out of the sight" said Zorua
"Pidgeot I know you tried to help him, we can not change something that is not in our hands. You can get along with our friends, flying types and other pokemon, " said Ash to which he nodded as Ash stared at the sky
"Rest in peace butterfree," said Ash looking at the sky."Ash, I have another pokemon of yours," said Oak getting the attention of Ash."Ash, here is your greninja," said Oak giving him his Pokeball
"When did you get him," asked Ash."Today itself, he was with professor sycamore " said, professor."It seems he and squishy are done with destroying dark roots," said Ash to himself
"Thanks, professor," said Ash as he sends his greninja out."Greninja gre," said Greninja as he looked at his surrounding, all pokemon and Ash were sad, not happy. He is confused, why Ash is to his bond he could tell that something is not right
"Greninja, it's nice to see you again, I missed you so much," said Ash wiping out the tears from his eyes and giving him a hug."Greninja gre," said Greninja looking at other pokemon
"Greninja these are our other pokemon friends that I caught in other regions. Go and meet them while I need to focus on something," said Ash as Pikachu greeted greninja
"Hi everyone, nice to see you all, especially hawlucha,noivern,talonflame," said Greninja."Hi, nice to meet you, talonflame told us about you, your special bond phenomenon" said Infernape."We have got some rivalry sceptile, and can't wait until Charizard come here," said infernape."Hi, I am meltan, nice to see you," said Meltan as he rubbed his hex nut against greninja's legs
"Wow, you guys are awesome, I can see some mega-evolution capable pokemon here," said Greninja
"Well yes out of us, sceptile,pidgeot,glalie, gible, heracross,larvitar can mega evolve, and Charizard too, he is not here right now," said Pikachu
"Guys why are you all sad," asked Greninja."Well, our friend * sobs * is no more with us, *sobs * a butterfree is dead" said Bulbasaur while he is sobbing.
"Listen we can not change what is not in our hands, maybe he is alive somewhere else," said Greninja petting on Bulbasaur's head
"Thanks, greninja," said Bulbasaur."So, I heard that Ash gained the second position in the Kalos league" said Totodile
"Yup, but we lost to mega Charizard, just because team flare leader used him to absorb the attacks and converting it to energy, " said Greninja."You know guys, we could be best battle partners," said Greninja to sceptile and infernape to which they nodded
"Greninja, we will begin our training shortly, after two weeks," said Ash

Ash is currently drifted to sleep in the ranch along with his pokemon. His pokemon still can't get over the fact that they lost their one of the pokemon friend that Ash owned. In his dreams, Ash is getting flashbacks of his battles with butterfree, all the battles they did, and the day he separated himself with butterfree. And finally, the death of butterfree until a loud roar filled up the environment of the ranch getting the attention of the pokemon which made Ash woke sleep and nightmare
"What's going on," asked Ash as he looked in the sky, a yellow and orange flame could be seen on the horizon. A silhouette of a dragon with something wrapped in the pokemon looked at the source of the sound until some of them started to dance happily
"Charizard, " said Ash in realization as Charizard landed in front of the is amazed to see so many new faces which include kalosian and alolan pokemon.
"Charizard nice to see you, buddy, you seem stronger than we met last time and who is this little guy with you," said Ash as he looked at Bagon but bagon released a flamethrower on Ash's face."Bagon don't do it, I only own a copyright to send flamethrower as a greeting gesture" said Charizard making bagon happy
"How are you Charizard, did professor called you," said Ash to which he nodded
"Ash I made a call to Liza and asked if Charizard is happy to join you again and she allowed it. Charizard's kids and Charla allowed him to join you too," said professor coming outside
"So you have kids huh. Nice to hear that Charizard, you finally had your own family," said Ash petting Charizard making him nuzzle the Ash
"Bagon greet Ash, he will be your new trainer," said Charizard."Hope he could understand me," asked Bagon
"Ash, Charizard wants you to train bagon, he saved him from wild pokemon," said Professor."Is that true bagon, you want to join me, well I am not a good trainer, but if you really want then I will be happy to have you on the team," said Ash taking bagon in his arms giving him a stroke on his head and started to tickle on his belly
The point of not being a good trainer, which some pokemon disagree with. Ash is a good trainer and in protest some pokemon hit Ash."Ok fine, you guys win. If you think that I am a good trainer then fine" said Ash
"Bagon this is a Pokeball, and I have to use it to capture you," said Ash to which he happily nodded. Ash then captured the bagon."All right I got a bagon" said Ash with little sadness."Charizard go and meet our old friend pidgeot, he came back with us forever," said Ash at which Charizard went to greet the pokemon he knew. One by one he greeted everyone including the new one.
"Charizard once I finished with the competition, we will train on mount silver," said Ash to which Charizard nodded "Till that time, I want you guys to get along with each other, greninja you too" said Ash to which all other pokemon nodded
In lumios city pokemon center in the Kalos region, a pokemon is gaining consciousness."Brother, this butterfree is gaining conscious," said Bonnie.."What? We have to inform nurse joy," said Clemont
"Oh my god, this is a miracle, we have to wait till he completely wakes up," said Joy looking at Bonnie

"Freee, " said the pokemon as he woke up confused by the surrounding
"How are you buddy, " asked Bonnie."Free," said Butterfree as he doesn't know where is he as zygard asked him
"Hi, where I am and how I reached here," said Butterfree
"Hello, my name is zygard and you are in the Kalos region, we find you drowning in the river," said zygard
"Thank you for saving me, but who am I, " said butterfree
"You were in the coma, from the past few weeks, and we brought you in the lumios city. Did you remember where you are from," asked Zygard
"No I don't know, I can't remember about my past and I don't know if I am wild pokemon or not," replied butterfree
"Well it seems when you fell into the stream you hit the boulder making you lost your memory," said Zygard
"Bonnie, this butterfree lost his memory," said zygard
"Hey brother this butterfree lost his memory so can we keep him," asked Bonnie
"Well you can, " said Joy."Butterfree would you like to come with me," asked Bonnie to which he nodded
"Yipee, thankyou butterfree, I will take good care of you," said Bonnie as dedene nuzzled butterfree
Butterfree happily started to dance around but fall towards ground due to weakness."Now, I have a spare Pokeball, so I can catch you in this, it will keep you safe," said Clemont at which butterfree happily nodded

"Well, I kinda miss Ash, it is true that I decided to stay with you guys but now I kinda missed him and Pikachu," said poipole
" So, you can go with him, and you can return anytime you want, an ultra wormhole can be open up again, anytime, anywhere," said Naganadel
"You mean it," asked Poipole."Yes and plus, I know Ash will let you visit us anytime you want," said Naganadel
"Yes, you should go to him, we don't mind you being with him, we know that you lived in the human world so that you can save us but now we will be happy if you stay with Ash," said another poipole
"Thank you, I love you all guys," said poipole "and when I will return I will come as a naganadel," added poipole
"I will visit solgaleo first," said poipole
"We will take you there," said Naganadel at which poipole hugged her

"What," asked Lunala and another solgaleo
"I want to stay with Ash, I want to do battling and, " said Nebby
"We get it, you missed Ash, but what about lilie? Wouldn't she have an issue with you being with Ash" asked Lunala
"Hope not," said Solgaleo
"So, you can visit the people here first," said solgaleo
"I will brother," said Nebby who consider solgaleo as his big brother
"I have to say goodbye for now but I will visit you guys again," said Nebby
But all of a sudden an ultra wormhole opened up.
"Solgaleo ultrabeasts are coming," said Lunala

"Hello Solgaleo and Lunala, I hereby request you guys to take this poipole to Ash, she misses him very deeply," said Naganadel
"Sorry for disturbing you guys, goodbye and take care, " said Naganadel as ultra wormhole disappeared
"Hello nebby, how are you," said Poipole
"I am good, I miss Ash too, decided to join him," said Nebby
"Let's go then," said Poipole
"First we will go to pokemon school and meet others and then to Ash," said Solgaleo

(A/N: Okay everyone this is the second chapter of Indigo Restart: Starting Over Again, and hope you guys would like this one. Some of his old pokemon returned to him which includes Larvitar, Charizard, Pidgeot, and Greninja and he got Bagon too. Poipole and Solgaleo decided to join him. The only pokemon left are his Goodra, Primeape, Squirtle, Lapras, Butterfree and you guys have any specific legendary in your mind which I should give to Ash from the one he met during his journey.
Would Bonnie and Clemont realize that the butterfree they have belongs to Ash, or Ash will ever know that his Butterfree is alive and safe with his Kalos Greninja ever realize that he saved one of his friends?
