A/N: I forget when Annabeth got her baseball hat from her mother, but I believe it was on one of her birthdays. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks for everyone who reviewed and hopefully I get some more reviews this time around! Also, I don't know when Annabeth's birthday is, so no flames please!
*-*
There weren't a lot of people around Camp Half Blood when it was my birthday. Considering, it was in January and the majority of the camp was living in the mortal world at this time. So, I never expected a big celebration and didn't really want one. I wasn't very into birthdays.
Dinner had just ended, and I was taking a walk by myself trying to collect my thoughts. I had started making a blue print of one of the buildings I wanted to design someday, and sometimes a nice walk was a good way to get my thought process going. I took a seat on a rock next to the creek, and stared thoughtfully at the sunset.
A half an hour later, once I was developed into darkness, I got up to make my way back to my cabin before curfew and saw something shimmering next to me. A look of confusion marked my face and I reached out. Once I touched it, it stopped to shimmer and in my hands was a package. My heart began to race. Maybe it was something from my mom…I highly doubted it. I never received a birthday present from my mother before in all my years, and wasn't expecting anything to change.
I waited until I got to my cabin so I could read it in the lighting. There was only three of my half-siblings here year around like me, and Jessica called out.
"Hey, what's that you got there?"
I shrugged my shoulders. On the package it had my name and the address of the camp scrawled acrossed it in elegant handwriting, hand writing I never seen before. It was difficult to read because of my dyslexia. When I opened it, in the package there was a New York Yankees Baseball hat. A note fluttered out of it and landed onto my bedspread. I unfolded it, my palms sweating and it said in the same handwriting.
Happy Birthday Annabeth.
I hope this proves to be a useful gift for you in your many years to come.
