Riven couldn't help it. His mind was constantly going back to Musa. How was she? Was she better? Was she (he couldn't bear to think of this) worse?
No, he reminded himself harshly. She is not getting worse. She is staying exactly the same. But that, in some ways, was worse than going downhill. It meant that there were no new updates about her condition. It was getting terribly worrying. It was hard hearing the same thing, over and over again.
The stress of the situation was getting to Riven, even in classes.

"No! It's not supposed to be like that! Just… do it my way!" Riven pushed his chair back abruptly. He was deeply angered; none of the class was listening to him! They were working on a project, but the rest of his group had different ideas to him.
"If you guys don't want to do it my way, then I don't see why I should be working in this group!" he yelled. He stormed over to the door, yanking it open.
"Riven," Saladin said sternly, his face set in a frown. "Wait outside, please, young man."
Riven grumbled. He walked out, slamming the door behind him. He knew he was supposed to wait outside, and waiting outside would be the most professional thing to do. But he didn't. He walked on, past the numerous other classrooms. Dorm room, or outside? he thought. Outside, definitely.

He walked on, his face frozen in a deep frown. Riven didn't know how much time had passed since he walked out of his lesson; all he knew was that he required some comfort.
But Musa wasn't here. She was ill. He could go see her. Or… he could go talk to Flora!
Flora was walking up to Red Fountain along with Stella and Layla. They weren't smiling at all, just solemnly walking. He waited for them to reach him.
"Hi, Riven," Flora sighed as they approached. "How are you?"
Riven smiled wanly at her. "I'm OK-ish. How are you?"
"Not good," Layla interjected. "I guess Musa's… condition-" she suddenly stopped. Riven saw Flora nudge her slightly.
"What are you doing out of class, Riven?" Stella asked pointedly.
He sighed. Trust Stella to ask something so direct. Frowning, he said, "I walked out. They were doing my head in," he sighed again, crossing his arms.
"Isn't that… a bit… unprofessional for a sophomore?" Flora asked, slowly walking again. Riven followed her. The others stayed exactly where they were.
"I guess. But Musa… without her, I do the most stupid things," he sighed.
Flora smiled softly. "You're not alone, Riven. All ten of us girls and guys are here for you. And we're sharing the same burden. We can get through it… together," she said softly.
Riven shook his head, smiling. "How can you get through such a tough time like this? Just calmly and collectively?"
"It hurts, Riven, seeing someone so close to me in hospital. But, you have to… keep it inside?" Flora offered.
"I guess so. You make me feel better, a lot." Riven smiled. "Thank you."
Flora just smiled back.
