I couldn't find her anywhere." Sebastian said. "She does not remain in the palace."
"She will never be satisfied until she has taken everything from us!" Krystine shouted.
"That's enough." Ciel said. "Angela is still angry at you, isn't she?"
"She believes I stole her happiness." Krystine said.
"What did you ever do to her?" Ciel asked.
"It was long ago. Angela was engaged to my father." Krystine said. "I caught her with a stable boy and promised not to breath a word. But her mother deceived me. I watched from a hidden door as her mother tore the heart out of the stable boy and crushed it. This was a skill she passed to her daughter. The power of absolute control."
"How do we know if she is controlling any of us?" Ciel asked.
"We don't." Krystine said. "We stay away from her and learn magic to protect our hearts. Then we slay her once and for all. Ciel, I know even you hate her for what she has done to you and your family. Together we will take her down!"
"Krystine." Ciel said. "Right now it's our honeymoon. We will spend this time together, and then we go on the offensive. According to Sebastian there are several months until she can make good on her promise."
"Very well." Krystine agreed.
On the two went, to experience joy—for perhaps the last time.
