It's okay to be upset about a loved one's death

This takes place at the same time as Even a strict nurse needs a laugh But from Derek Stiles' and my POV (short for Point of View) though unlike the last story with light hearted laughs this one deals with a more serious issue with losing a loved one.

When James has a nightmare of when his father passed away in front of him, he falls into a state of fright and sadness, how does Dr. Stiles help him?

Caduceus, Patient Ward 216

The story starts after Angie left to apologise to Reia for her harsh comments toward in the previous story, and my adopted sister Lillie begin checking on me as I was still in a bad way from losing a lot of blood due to my right arm being severed by N in a Lightsaber duel at the Sinnoh leauge, I lost so much blood that it forced Derek to use his Healing touch to slow down and stop the bleeding.

While the two were talking I was asleep but having a nightmare,

"D-Dad?...what are you—Ah...n...no...No...NO...NNNNOOOOOOOOOO!",

I screamed upon seeing Dad get stabbed by a saber and his blood spraying on me.

"AAHHH! *Gasp* *Gasp* *Shiver*"

Upon hearing me scream Derek,Lillie and Tyler (who came to see Derek) jumped backward in shock.

"BWEH! James-Onii-Chan (Brother in Japanese) don't do that! You'll give a heart attack!", Lillie exclaimed.

"HUAH! Too late!", Dr. Chase said still in shock.

"Oh...sorry..." I said, mournfully.

"Were you having that nightmare again James?" Lillie asked, this wasn't the first time this happened.

"Yeah..." I said, nearly crying.

Derek seeing this got an Idea, "Um...Lillie would you mind if I took James outside alone on the rooftop for a few minutes?"

"Sure, if that's okay with you James." Lillie replied.

I nodded and helped me to a wheelchair as I was still weak from losing a lot of blood and Derek pushed me up to the rooftop.

Caduceus, Rooftop

I felt the wind hit my face in the cold air as it was November, so Derek dressed me up warmly.

Silence fell between us for a moment before Derek spoke,

"James,I know how you feel."

"Huh?" I said confused.

"I know what it's like to lose a father." Derek said.

"How did it happen?", I asked carefully.

Derek began "He died from an incurable illness when I was around 10, I forget, there was nothing the doctors could do back then."

"Oh...Sorry for your loss Derek,I shouldn't have asked."

"It's alright I've managed to come to terms with it now it's your turn James." Derek looked deeply into my eyes.

"There's no one around, just let it out James, tell me about your anger, tell me about your sorrow."

"Yes...! I'm angry and a little upset..."

Derek responded," No James it's more than just a little you're really angry."

"YES! I'M REALLY ANGRY!", I yelled tears spilling out of my eyes as I went on.

"I HATE GHETSIS, THAT BASTARD! FOR ALL HE'S DONE! TO ME, TO LILLIE, MOM,REIA, ASH, GLADION, EDDIE, N AND TO ALL THE OTHER PEOPLE AND POKEMON! WHY CAN'T THIS WAR JUST STOP!? WHY DID HE HAVE TO MAKE ME SUFFER!?", I screamed out every emotion I could.

Derek then consoled me,

"I think all those emotions have been in you for a very long time James, feel better?"

I then looked at Derek, "Actually...yeah...! I do! Hehe...thanks Derek I needed that push."

Derek smiled, he had done it! He brought James out of his despair, "Anytime you feel like this again, just tell me James, I'm willing to support you."

Derek then sneezed, "You alright Doctor?" I asked.

"I don't know why but I thought someone was talking about me..." Derek said with a confused face, wiping his nose, "Oh and just a little secret James...I suck at Puzzles."

I stared at Derek, then burst out laughing, "Hehe...thanks Derek you were trying to make me laugh there weren't you?"

Derek chuckled, "Yeah. Anyway let's head back in."

And as you can guess if you read Even a strict nurse needs a laugh you'll know what happened the next day, with Derek and Tyler getting pranked.

Ever since then Derek and I remained firm friends.
