Ok here's chapter 2 guys thanks so much for reviewing ! Hope you like it :P

.

As we sat down at our table, I felt Lissa relax beside me. Christian was there accompanied by Dimitri, who allowed me a brief smile as they headed towards us.

"Hey Christian " Liss said as she pecked him on the cheek. "Hi Lissa," he replied as he slid into his seat "How was class?" " Confusing but I think I've got it. God I can't believe it's been 3 months since we first came here" "Yeah 3 months since I almost got kill-" I stopped as everyone stiffened. I saw Albert and Tomas snap to attention at the table next to ours, but I waved them off. There was no threat except my mouth. "Oh Christian sorry! I didn't mean it like that." I apologised. Three months since I had been shot meant 3 months since his aunt had been arrested. He didn't need reminding of that. Not today…

I hastened to find a change of subject, but Dimitri beat me to it, my hero. "Just think of all the things that have happened in the last year, you've all accomplished so much. Especially you Lissa." Or not. No one really needed reminding of all the things that had happened since last October. I mean, Lissa had been kidnapped by her crazed uncle and Christian almost got eaten by wild dogs, we were captured by strigoi in Spokane and almost killed, took fight in a massive battle against the strigoi and lost Dimitri, and to top it all off I was arrested for a murder I didn't commit! And then there is Adrian….my problem at the moment. I've tried to talk to him but he won't listen. I know it was wrong to lead him on like that when I still had feelings for Dimitri, but I still want him as a friend. Honestly, all I've done is ruined our friendship by getting involved with him as revenge to get back at Dimitri during possibly the worst time in my life. My stupid selfish self wanted him to always love me no matter what, while I never could reciprocate his feelings because of Dimitri. But now I just want him as a friend. I miss his smile and easy laughter, his –

"Rose, are you okay?" I heard Dimitri ask, breaking me out of my reverie. "Yeah, just fine." I replied quickly, snapping back to attention. "Well then you'd better keep your eyes open, you're still on duty" he scolded. Damn here comes the Zen lecture and his old mentor role again, once again showing just how young I am. "Yes, sir!" I teased, but I sat up straighter and scanned the area around me, showing off my supreme, bad-ass guardian skills.

"So Rose, what are you going to wear tonight?" Lissa asked. Christian stiffened. "I'm going to the bathroom guys." I heard him say, and Dimitri stood up too, following Christians every move. "Oh Liss, do I have to answer that? I don't even want to go. It's going to be awful" I said. "I know Rose I know, but I have to go, and there is no way I'm going to face it without you" she replied. "It's sick Liss, I don't want to support it. Remember I was in that position once?" I said, watching an ant dragging a lifeless beetle along the ground. Life is so fragile, it shouldn't be wasted, and not how it was going to be tonight.

I tried to think of something lighter to say, something to take both my mind and Lissa's off what was coming. I sufficed with a teasing "Besides it's my night off, and I don't like to waste those," but Lissa gave me the most innocent, pleading look she could muster, and I cracked. How could I desert her when she needed me so much? When she was such a good friend to me? I was going to go.

I mumbled a reply just as Christian and sigh Dimitri returned, and hastened for the millionth time today to change the subject. "We should probably be getting back," I said

'Yeah, I know you wouldn't want to miss this for the world, Rose" Christian glared at me. Damn, not what I meant, but I knew Christian had a right to be angry. Although Lissa had managed to abolish the one law that Christian really cared about, it still applied to those who were sentenced just before it had been changed.

Tasha was still going to die tonight.
