So this is the new style that the updated chapters and the new ones are gonna be like. This is also gonna be the standard length for the chapters. Hope you guys enjoy reading it. A couple months after the funeral, Persona arrives at the house he and Rin share with important news. "Rin, come down, I have to speak with you." He calls out listening to his voice echoing the emptiness. Moments later footsteps sound out as Rin hurries down the stairs to get to his position. Spotting him she runs and throws herself at Persona. "Welcome home Persona nii-sama." Used to her childish antics Persona simply opens his arms and catches her. Ensuring she is securely in his arms he takes his charge and relocated them into the lounge where he places himself on one of the couches, Rin still in his arms and now sitting on his lap.
"Rin do you remember what we talked about a couple weeks ago?" Persona asks, waiting for her to her head before her continues. "Well, after an extremely long talk with the principal it's been decided. You start at Gakuen Alice in two days." He concludes, his crimson eyes glittering in amusement as he watches Rin's reaction. Once Rin's brain registers what Persona said her eyes widen and her jaw drops right before a massive grin brightens her face. Jumping off of Persona's lap she starts pumping her fists in the air out of excitement. "Yes, I finally get to go with you nii-sama." Rin cheers. "I'm gonna start getting ready." She calls back to Persona as she rushes out of the room. Persona just shakes his head and gives a exasperated sigh. "I swear that child is crazy."
A couple days passes in a flash and before Rin knows it the big day had arrived. "Rin, we're leaving." Persona calls out from his spot by the car. "Coming Persona nii-sama." Rin responds as she rushes to the car, er heavy luggage being dragged behind her. She pauses for a moment to lock the house and then carries on towards the car. "Hey, Persona nii-sama, will you still come and see me often when we get to the school?" She asks leaning against the side of the car watching him. Persona thinks the question over as he puts Rin's luggage into the boot. "If you do as you're told then we shall see. Now get in the car so we can get going." He tells her pointing at the car for emphasis. Rin nods her head. "I'll be good, I promise." She says before getting into her seat so they could leave.
A few minutes into the car ride a thought occurs to Rin, hesitantly she voices her question aloud. "Um, Persona onii-sama, do you have anyone... special to you at the school?" When the last word leaves her lips she quickly turns her head to face the window, a small lick of fear entering her as she awaits his answer. "I suppose I do have a... special student. They're certainly fun to tease and torment in any case." Persona responds, a slight grin flickering across his face as he thinks of the student in question. Rin's face drops and she tilts her head forward slightly so she could cover her eyes with her hair. "Oh, oh okay then." She comments quietly. Persona glances at her from the corners of his eyes. Seeing her despondent body language he sighs quietly and laments over the fact that this will be a long trip for them.
An uncomfortable silence filled the car, making the trip seem like it was taking an eternity to the two travelers. Rin was still looking out the window with a disheartened look on her face while Persona was staring intensely at the road in front of him. Breaking the silence Persona calls Rin's name to get her attention. "Hai Persona onii-sama?" Rin answers solemnly. "Do you remember what I told you about this place?" He inquires, looking at her for a short moment. Rin nods her head gently. "I remember." "Good, recite it back to me then." He orders. "Of course nii-sama." Rin says, taking the welcomed distraction from her previous thoughts.
Rin takes a quick breath before she lets the words leave her mouth. "You told me that Gakuen Alice is a school for people like you and me, people who have special abilities called alices. This school is the best place for people like us to learn how to control our powers and the people who come to this school are from almost every age group. You've also told me that I am to listen to the teachers and that it's very important that I don't tell anyone I know you or what our relationship is. Umm.." Rin pauses in her recital to think about what else Persona told her. After a moment of thought the rest of the information comes back to her. "Right, you also told me that I should keep my protective mask up around the others and when it comes to the ability class section of the day I am to go find you immediately. Was that everything?" She asks looking up at Persona with her mismatched eyes, waiting for his approval.
Persona reaches a hand out and gently pats her head, pleased that she perfectly remembered everything. "Yes that was everything, but I'm adding one other thing onto that list. Unless you have my approval, do not trust anyone other than myself. Got that Rin? If you don't listen to that one rule there will be consequences." He finishes with a dark menacing tone. Rin's eyes widened at the tone of voice coming from Persona. Having almost never heard the tone before she blinked realizing and understanding how seriously he was taking that one promise. "I promise to always follow that rule Persona." She says, dropping the usual honorific to prove how serious and determined she was to keep the promise. "Good." Persona comments, feeling a small amount of tension leave his body.
After such a serious conversation, Rin was sitting quietly, trying to think of something else to talk about when she realised there was another topic they needed to speak of. "Persona nii-sama. What are we going to do when it becomes time for me to fall asleep?" Persona blinks for a second before he clicks onto what Rin was talking about. "Wait for me to arrive. I will stay with you, but, only until you fall asleep." Rin closes her eyes and lets out a sigh of relief. "Thank you Persona nii-sama." Having talked about all that they needed to, Rin leans back into her seat and prepares herself for when they will arrive.
