Chapter 2

Too Good to Be (Mei/Ayaka)

/ "The woman called Ayaka Kagari is invincible, but there's a mechanism to it. She needs to keep Takamiya-kun within a certain range. When she does, she draws an endless supply of magic from him, making her invincible. It works because both the source and the user of the magic are together. The time to attack is when they are apart. Try before they board the bus."/

It had been simple; divide and conquer. Split up the Fire Witch (also known as Fire Bitch in Mei's book) and Takamiya-kun, strip the Fire Witch of her magic, and defeat her while delivering the boy to Medusa-sama. It was a fool-proof plan!

Mei Menowa smirked with pride; Tanpopo should be securing Takamiya-kun right about now, and the Fire Witch was alone and outside the needed range to draw from his magic. Along with Rin, Kanna, and Kotetsu, it was four against one; there was no way out for the Fire Witch.

It was a great shame, though; Ayaka Kagari was such a good looking young woman. At every chance she got, Mei would silently admire her enemy, imagining how it'd feel to touch her, to plain out have Ayaka under her spell, no pun intended.

"We heard all about it, Fire Witch," she commented as she strode over to the brunette. "We know the secret behind your strength."

She stopped right in front of her. Ayaka was slightly taller than her and simply stared Mei down, unimpressed.

Tch.

"But now that I see you up close, you really are beautiful…" That was an understatement; up close, Ayaka was drop-dead gorgeous. If only she was a Tower Witch, Mei mused, there'd be fewer barriers between them. Acting without thinking, she reached out towards the brunette's face –

Her hand was slapped away at the last second.

Mei smirked and rubbed her hand; the Fire Bitch was definitely a rose with thorns. "Heh. I don't dislike that kind of attitude, you know. But now that Takamiya-kun's magic power is out of your reach, how long can you keep that look on your face?" She snapped her whip with a loud ´crack´ in the air. "I can't wait to find out, Fire Witch!"

Everything around her spun. What had just happened? Mei remembered that they had surrounded and attacked the Fire Witch, and then…then what? Everything beyond that point was shrouded in black. Had they perhaps lost? Upon coming to, she realized that she was flat on her back on the pavement. At least she didn't have any burns.

"Are you alright?" A dark-green eye met olive ones and Mei's heart threatened to jump out of her chest. Ayaka was holding out her hand and stared with that impassive look on her face as she tended to do. "You're not hurt, are you?"

There were plenty of questions Mei wanted to ask yet she couldn't form a single syllable. The enemy was offering her help and worried about her safety? This had to be a trick.

…But who was Mei to refuse such a tempting offer from Ayaka? Giddy, she clasped her hand around the brunette's and allowed herself to be pulled up from the ground, now standing face-to-face with the other witch. They were quite close, Mei noted, and her heart skipped a beat when Ayaka didn't move away.

"I'm glad to see you're alright," the Workshop Witch commented. "I was afraid that I had hurt you too badly earlier…"

If Mei had lost consciousness then it ought to have been a thorough beating, she thought, although miraculously she appeared rather unharmed, all things considered. "Y-Yeah…I'm alright…"

Was this shaky, nervous voice really hers? It probably was; that gentle expression on Ayaka's face made the Tower Witch's heart melt and knees suddenly weak as heat suffused her cheeks.

"I'm…glad." The brunette smiled at her! "…Allow me to apologize for my behaviour earlier. I hope I didn't hurt your hand."

The mint-green-haired woman blinked and looked down at her hand and then back up. "Ah…N-No, it's nothing," she replied. "D-Don't worry about it…"

"I can't help but to worry…" The brunette tenderly took Mei's hand and brought it up to her lips – an action that that had the Tower Witch's face nearly combust from the contact – and kissed her knuckles. "It's not like we ever meet up, just the two of us…But now, at least, your friends won't come between us."

What? Mei was speechless. Her mind reeled, trying to process Ayaka's words and make heads or tails of the situation. It sounded almost like she meant –

"Don't tell me that this is one-sided," the Workshop Witch then asked. "You even called me beautiful earlier…"

Oh she absolutely meant what Mei thought she did.

"Y-You've got a perfect poker-face, you know…" Mei replied, trying her hardest to not get too giddy. "B-But I guess the cat's finally out of the bag now, huh…"

"Correct." The brunette leant closer and the mint-green-haired woman almost reeled back. Ayaka could steal a kiss if she so pleased…although Mei was just as tempted to close that final, short distance between them... "I've had my eyes on you for a while now, Menowa-san."

She had to bite the inside of her cheek to suppress the joyous squealing from escaping her lips. Was this really happening? She could feel Ayaka's hand in hers – this was real, it had to be, and right now the Fire Witch was coming onto her!

"Y-You've caught my attention many a times yourself, A-Ayaka-san…" Curse this sudden shyness!

The brunette smiled a wicked smile that made the fine hairs on Mei's neck stand on edge. "I'm pleased to hear that… Perhaps I can be a bit bolder then."

Before Mei could fully progress what was happening, the Workshop Witch was kissing her. As soon as their lips met, the mint-green-haired witch's heart melted. This feeling – the warmth, the slight wetness of flawless, pink lips – had her body trembling and lower lips suffusing with heat.

Lost like in a trance, Mei snaked an arm around the brunette, pulling her closer, and the Fire Witch responded in kind and reciprocated the action as she kissed Mei in a way that only lovers would. It caught her off-guard, being orally dominated by the stoic and reserved Ayaka like this, but there was no way Mei would turn this down. The Fire Witch, whom she had admired from afar, was not only returning those feelings, but kissing her!

Only when oxygen became absolutely necessary did the two girls withdraw, a string of saliva bridging between them shortly before snapping. The mint-green-haired witch panted heavily and her heart raced.

Ayaka, however, appeared to have recovered faster as she smiled smugly and pulled Mei back in with a husky, "Finally, I have you…"

She didn't have time to reply before they locked lips again. Ayaka's tongue snaked past Mei's and into her oral cavern as she pulled the Tower Witch closer. The brunette's hands wandered unbridled down Mei's body, grasping a firm rear cheek and forcing a muffled moan from the mint-green-haired girl.

The brunette pulled back and smiled, seemingly proud of her handiwork: the Tower Witch was practically a drooling, horny mess. "You have no idea how long I have wanted to do that, Menowa-san…"

That was… surprising. To think that behind that calm demeanour there'd be such a wildcat…

Mei managed a grin. "Then enough waiting, Fire Witch. I'm ready for anything."

"Anything?" The brunette smiled slyly. "I'll hold you to it."

She leant back in and Mei purred in response and wetted her lips –

A sudden spike of pain in her left temple forced her eyes open and Mei, bewildered, spun around to find Kanna stare right at her. "W-What?! What is it now?!"

"M-my apologies, Mei-chan, but…" the deadpan-expression-wearing witch stated. "We couldn't listen to your sleep-talking for a moment longer."

Wait-what? "Sleep-talking? What are you on about, Kanna-san?! And leave already, Ayaka-chan and I were –" Her words trailed off. "Say, Kanna-san, why are you tied up?"

"You were right, Kotetsu-chan, she must've really been knocked out," Kanna said to the brunette witch behind her. "The Fire Witch tied us up and left us here, Mei-chan. Don't you remember?"

A little red warning flag went off at the back of Mei's head and she looked down; bound tightly by rope, she and her friends were hanging from a lamppost. If Ayaka had done this…

"Oh no…" Her heart was about to burst. "Noooo! It was but a dream?!"

"And a rather lewd one, judging from the way you moaned," Kotetsu replied. "Poor Rin-chan fainted from the way you kept calling out the Fire Witch's name over and over."

As the sun began to descend, Mei cried out. It just had to be too good to be true.
