The last meters were critical, but finally I pulled into the Diner's parking lot, grabbed my two bags and jumped out of the car. Putting on my sunglasses, I looked around, but no Motorcycle was to be seen. I hid myself behind a big truck, in case the Niners turned up before Bobby did. I slid down the car and rested my head on my knees. Slowly tears started to fill my eyes. The whole situation was just getting out of hand. Yet I did my best to hold them back. I didn't like crying in public, it made me feel weak, helpless.
Damn, why did I have to help Lucas? Damn this man and his good looks! Damn my ovaries! Damn Laroy! Damn Bobby! Damn…
Before I could damn one more person, I heard motorcycles approaching.
My head snapped up and in a second, I was up looking over the truck. A familiar face greeted me and a smiled crept up my face. I grabbed my backs and ran towards the three Sons.
"Where's Bobby?" I asked the man in front of me. Jackson "Jax" Teller.
"Had some business to do, Darling. Now gimme those" He winked and nodded towards my bags.
Furrowing my brows, I handed him one and he put it behind himself.
"So you take the bags and I have to walk?"
Jax laughed heartily and pointed to the man behind him. "You're riding with Hap"
I turned and eyed the man Jax referred to as "Hap".
He was bald, his arms and neck covered with tattoos and he wore the typical Sons of Anarchy leather Cut. Something about this man made me really uncomfortable.
Before I could set one foot towards him, I heard tires squeaking and the aggressive roaring of Engines. My head automatically turned towards the road and my heart stopped for a second.
The SUVs were approaching the diner. Fast.
I swung myself behind Hap and told Jax to "fucking get away from here".
Without asking, without hesitation, all three of them started their bikes and accelerated. I slung my arms around the man in front of me and held on for dear life.
God, this maniac drove like he wanted to set up a new World Record for the Most Dangerous Ride.
I held on a little tighter, placed my head on his back and shut my eyes. Now, that black surrounded me, I heard the wind howling, tires rolling and felt my muscles tensing. But the most remarkable thing I noticed was his smell. He smelled like leather, motor oil and smoke.
And to my own surprise I liked it very much.
My hands felt the muscles under his shirt and I just had to imagine him without it. I suppressed the urge to purr and almost forgot the reason why I was sitting behind him.
This is definitely the wrong time to get all flustered about a man! Get it together girl! I scolded myself and risked a brief look over my shoulder.
I regretted it immediately.
Seeing the Niners closing in on us, made my heart beat rapidly and I quickly turned around hiding my face in Haps back.
I didn't want to think about what would happen if they actually got me. What Laroy would do to me.
Jax must've notice my anxiety and sped up to drive next to us. He nodded to Hap and the other Biker and it was like they had planned the next.
Hap sped up and turned left at the next crossroads, ignoring the honking of angry drivers.
Jax and the other one fell back and drove right in front of the SUVs, forcing them to slow down.
After that, Hap turned a few more times and when I lifted my head the next time, there were no SUVs to be seen.
A wave of relief washed over me and I let out a breath I didn't knew I was holding.
But a little voice in the back of my mind had to destroy this moment of peace.
"Sooner or later they will find you!" it piped up. "The Cuts gave away where you're hiding. Laroy isn't stupid. He'll find you."
"I know! Will you shut up already?" Hey, my inner Jiminy Cricket actually stopped talking.
Great now I was already talking to myself! Nuthouse, here I come! Maybe I should just give up, grab my bags and sign myself in at the closest bughouse? At least the Niners wouldn't find me there.
I was so engrossed in my thoughts; I didn't notice we already pulled up into the Teller-Morrow Automotive driveway. With a jolt the Bike suddenly stopped and I let out a startled gasp as I slid even closer to the biker. My inner thighs now pressing tightly to his.
I felt the heat creep up into my cheeks and quickly removed my arms from his middle and rapidly got off the bike.
Hap chuckled slightly, taking off his black helmet and fully turning towards me. Doing my best to ignore the piercing gaze he gave me, I took in the familiar buildings.
I was back. After eight years, I had finally come back.
