I heard the music start. I knew it meant in just a few minutes they would come to get me. It was time. I had been planning this for almost a year. So why was I nervous now? I am marrying him and starting my new life. This is where my life had led me. I looked as lovely as I had hoped. But a vision of a dance when I was 16 kept flooding my mind.
"You look amazing. I have never seen anyone as lovely as you, Sarah." I heard behind me. I couldn't turn around to face him so I stood with my back to him.
"Why are you here? You know you were not invited. It is invite only!"
"I may not have gotten a paper invite but I heard your soul calling for me. So here I am."
"But why are you here now? Why not earlier?'
"Because we both know that this is not you."
'Then what is? What makes you so sure you know me?"
"You are meant to be my queen."
I finally turned around to look at him, but he was gone. I ran to the door and opened it but he was gone. I hadn't expected anything but. He had a way of leaving quickly.
"Sarah I was just coming to get you to walk you down the aisle. By the way you look lovely."
"I am ready. And thanks." But my eyes weren't looking at him. They were focused on a window. Where an owl sat. I lost my breathe. I didn't want to have him at my wedding. He could have contacted me before and things might have been different but, no. And now? On my wedding day? I fidgeted with my ring again and looked at everyone in the room. Then in an instant I imagined another wedding.
