The next morning custard was missing "custard" strawberry called out three times. Pupcake sniffed and sniffed the snow he couldn't find custard he went to check huckleberry bryair he passed apple dumpling on the way by when he got there the pond was frozen but he saw something in the middle of it . He was digging to get to whatever it was. He kept digging and digging then he saw it his eyes went wide with fear it was custard frozen at the bottom of the pond he ran to get help the closest houses were peppermint fizz's house and angel cake's house . he knocked on the door to angel's house and told her what happened to custard then he went to pepermint's house they all ran down to the river the ice was melted a little bit so pupcake swam down and got her out of the water when he got custard out of the water then angel cake scooped her up and tried to get a pulse it was weak but it was there pepermint fizz started cpr while angel went to tell strawberry. When strawberry saw what was happening she couldn't believe it her cat lay there lifeless they covered her with a blanket but she already had hypothermia. Two hours went by and peppermint fizz was still doing cpr on her . But then pupcake went up to were custard was laying he let out a few whimpers then he took over cpr. He couldn't believe how cold her lips were they had a tint of blue on them . Her chest was cold too each time he put pressure on her chest it would sink in this all felt weird to pupcake. He felt her cold lips again no matter how hard he tried no avail could his friend be dying right before his eyes? On his second to last life giving breath to give to custard he held it there miraculously her eyes flew open he hugged her tightly never wanting to let go.
