Hamilton's POV
I walked into my dorm room, which I apparently shared with John. I smiled at him as I set my suitcase down and unpacked. I took out my laptop, notebooks, and journal out and set them on my desk. I arranged everything else in a somewhat orderly way and sat down at the desk, grabbing my journal. I snuck a glance at Laurens and we locked eyes for a second before I looked away. Man, I wanted him so bad.
I looked down at my journal and wrote.
Cold in my professions, warm in my friendships, I wish, my Dear Laurens, it might be in my power, by action rather than words to convince you that I love you...
I smiled and continued writing.
...I shall only tell you that 'til you bade us Adieu, I hardly knew the value you had taught my heart to set upon you. Indeed, my friend, it was not well done. You know the opinion I entertain of mankind, and how much it is my desire to preserve myself free from particular attachments, and to keep my happiness independent of the caprice of others...
I glanced up, sneaking another glance at John, doodling away in his sketchbook. He was perfect.
Laurens POV
I was surprised when Alex walked into my dormroom. I didn't realize he was my roommate. He smiled at me as he walked in, which made me scream a little inside. I mentally scolded myself for it later.
John, he probably doesn't like you that way. I doubt he's even gay. He just smiled at you. You're just friends right? Nothing more than friends.
I sneakily watched him as he arranged his side of the room rather neatly. It didn't take him long, and within 5 minutes he was at his desk, scribbling away in what I assumed to be a journal. He looked up for a second, and we locked eyes, before he quickly looked back down. Man, the man is beautiful.
He looked down and continued to write, while I just drew him. I did my best to get all the details right. I wanted to remember him. Man, I wish I knew what he was writing.
