A cloaked woman was sitting in a tree in the Kokiri Forest watching the Hero of Time and his new female friend walking through the village of children.
'Damn. I must've grabbed the wrong girl. I have to fix this before he finds out my mistake,' she adjusted her hood as she stood up on the branch. She grabbed a small, silver ball out of her pouch and threw it to the ground as an explosion of light took her away.
.
Link glanced out into the trees trying to figure out what just happened over there.
"Did you see that?" He asked Kay. He was still looking out into the distance.
"See what?" She asked while looking into the forest trying to see what he was talking about.
"Nothing I guess..." He shook his head. He swore he saw a light coming from over there. He sighed as he turned to keep walking. 'What am I going to do with Kay? I can't just bring her in the temples with me, she'll get hurt. How am I going to get her home?' Link looked at her clothing. He hadn't noticed it till now. She wore the strangest purple tunic with blue woven leggings and odd boots.
"Where are you from? If it isn't too far I could probably take you home before I visit the gorons. I normally take a few days between dungeons. I have to resupply at Kakariko Village," Link started to explain when they heard a loud cracking noise from behind. them. Link spun around, drawing his sword in the process. He shoved Kay behind him as he serched for whatever made the noise.
"Who are you and why are you following the Hero of Time?" A male voice said from behind the pair. Kay spun around and immediately recognized the princess in disguise.
"Well excuse me princess," Kay snarked back with a smirk on her face.
"Do I look like a princess to you little girl?" Sheik asked with a glare on his face. Kay looked the man up and down. She started wondering how Zelda pulled this off. The guy was ripped and his voice wasn't anything close to feminine. Link was laughing like a maniac behind them.
"This is Kay," Link finally got himself together enough to try and help his new friend out. Sheik was kind of intimidating with the way he just appeared out of thin air and could literally be anywhere at any time. "I found her lying on the steps at the entrance to the forest temple. She was lost and I didn't want to leave her by herself." He finished his explanation. Sheik looked at her closely, as if trying to decide what needed to be done with her.
"I came down here because I sensed a disturbance in..."
"The force?" Kay interrupted Sheik with a grin on her face.
"No," the Sheikah replied glaring daggers at her. "There was a large disturbance in the magical balance. It happened a few hours ago. I assume you're the reason for that." Sheik said with irritation lacing his voice. He was clearly not impressed with the short, snarky female. Link stepped between the two as the just continued to glare daggers at each other.
"Anyway Kay," Link said trying to break the akward silence. "Where are you from? I'll try and get you back when we get out of here if you'd like." He finished smiling at her.
"Well I'm not sure how I got here, and I doubt you could take me home by horseback," she answered as honestly as she could. Link nodded and was about to speak again before there was a noise that sounded like thunder and a giant, purple, swirling vortex opened up from the sky. Link shoved Kay behind him and getting the master sword and his shield at the ready. Sheik grabbed handfuls of throwing knives from his loose wraps and positioned himself next to the hero. Something, or someone fell out of the vortex before it vanished. Whoever was lying there wasn't moving. Link sheathed the blade and walked up to the lump on the forest floot.
"It's a girl," he told the others. He checked for a pulse and was relieved when he found it. This girl kind of looked like Kay. Could this be how she got here as well?
"That's my sister!" Kay yelled. She pushed Link out of the way and started shaking the girl on the ground.
"Kit! Kit, are you ok? Katerina! Answer me!" Kay was starting to panic when Kit let out a groan and sat up.
"What the hell happened?" She asked while looking around. "Where am I?" She looked at her sister.
"Well... Welcome to the lost woods," Kay replied with a smile.
"No... Seriously where are we? And how'd you get here so fast?" She said looking up at her sister.
"She just told you we're currently in the lost woods of Kokiri Forest," Kit heard a stotic voice answer her. She looked over and saw Sheik standing next to a man in a green tunic with a fairy flying around his head.
"What's the last thing you remember?" Link asked, worried for his new friends' sister.
"I was talking to mom telling her Kay was at a friends' house. Then everything got dark and I woke up here," Kit sat up and looked around finding everything looked so familiar. Maybe they really were in the lost woods, but how? And why? "Guess I don't have to worry about that test Monday." Kit smiled meekly.
"Are you ok to walk?" Link asked politely. He was willing to carry her if she couldn't. Kit tried to stand but she has twisted her ankle in the fall.
"I don't think I can. It's twisted." Kit said pointing to her ankle. Link started to walk towards her, but Sheik beat him to it. He picked her up bridal style and began walking out of the forest. Kit blushed a little.
"Are you coming?" Sheik said to the other two as he carried her towards the hollow tree that was the entrance of Kokiri Forest. Link and Kay looked at each other, shrugged, and then ran off after the pair.
"You can ride with me." Sheik said to the woman in his arms. "Link has that other annoying woman he has to deal with so I suppose I will help him out by helping you," the Sheikah said while staring down at her.
"Do I have a choice?" She asked slightly annoyed. Who does this prick think he is?
"No." He replied. His eyes weren't as hard as they had been a few moments ago. He sounded almost amused.
"Sheik," she said almost to quiet to hear."Why do you wear that mask?"
"We start to wear a mask at ten years old. It's a sign that we are ready to be trained to serve the Royal Family. Our lives are not as important as theirs so we hide our identity." He replied with no emotion in his voice and his eyes straight ahead. She nodded and shifted in his arms. "Am I hurting you?" He asked glancing down at her.
"No. I'm just not used to this. This is the first time anyones ever carried me," she replied with a slight blush on her cheeks.
"Ok. Let me know if you are in too much pain. I have numbing herbs in my saddle bags," he said without looking at the woman in his arms. She nodded and stared up at the man holding her. She felt his chest pressed against her and it was most definitely masculine. Could this really be Zelda in disguise? He had a deep voice and had no problem carrying her almost three miles to his horse. She looked over at the horses waiting at the entrance of the hallow log. She recognized Epona immediately but the other horse she had never seen before. It was a large shire horse. It was completely black in color and was absolutely gorgeous. Shiek sat her down on a nearby stump and started getting his horse ready for journey. Link and Kay walked out right after she was sat on the stump. Link walked over to Epona while Kay came up to her sister.
"How did we get here?" Kit asked her little sister. She still couldn't believe that this was real.
"I'm not sure. I got tossed out in front of the forest temple. I helped him get through it Kit! I went through a freaking temple with the hero of time," she said with a huge smile. Kit smiled back but she was worried. If this was real and they died here there was no reloading from the last save point. There were no save points. There were also a lot of things here that wanted to hurt and kill innocent people. Kit frowned as she looked over at the men talking quietly next to the horses. They were probably trying to figure out what to do with the girls. Kit sighed and looked out into Hyrule field. It was beautiful here. She knew this place like the back of her hand. She wondered if Link even needed help. He should have this under control. Then again everytime she saw him defeat Gannon, she was the one who was controlling him.
"Are you girls ready to ride out?" Link asked. Kit jumped she was pretty deep in thought. She hadn't even noticed him walk up.
"We're ready when you guys are," Kay said with a smile. Sheik walked over and picked Kit up and sat her on the saddle of the large black horse. He grabbed some kind of green paste out his bag and began rubbing it on her injured ankle.
"Is this the numbing paste?" She asked looking down at him. He just nodded and continued to work on her ankle.
"What's her name?" Kit asked gesturing to the large black mare she was sitting on.
"Amaru" Sheik said "my aunt Impa named her."
"I didn't know Impa was you're aunt." Link said.
"There's a lot you don't know about me." Sheik replied. Link just shrugged and helped Kay onto Epona. "We're going to Kakariko Village. I have a two room house there we can stay in." Sheik said. He than turned his attention to Kit. "I need you to tell me if your ankle starts to hurt again. Riding will do it more harm than good but that's the only way to get you to the village."
"Where are we going?" Kit asked. "I mean, I know we're going to Kakariko Village but what's the game plan once we get there?"
"We're going be her magestys house guests." Kay answered from Epona with a large grin.
"Why does your insufferable sister keep implying I am a princess?" Sheik asked as his right eye twitched slightly. He was clearly irritated with her younger sister. Kit let out a giggle. Since when did she giglle?
"It's a long story. I'll explain as soon as I figure out how to." The older of the sisters answered. They could see Lon Lon Ranch in the distance it was so much bigger than it looked in the game. Everything here looked different to be honest. It was just so surreal being here. She and her sister were both in Hyrule. Link was riding on Epona right next to her. She was currently holding on to Sheik while they rode to Kakariko Village. The whole thing was just crazy. She was going to be so pissed if this turned out to a dream.
.
Well let me know what you guys think!
