Archie was dumbfounded by David's apparent confession, that he loved Ruby.
"Well...umm...uh...what?"
David was absolutely humiliated.
"Yes. I'm in love Ruby. I know I shouldn't, I mean I'm married to Mary Margaret, but I-I just don't know."
David wasn't the only one who was confused, Archie also had no idea what to think.
"Have you told Mary Margaret yet?"
Flabbergasted, David said that he hadn't and wouldn't know how or where to start.
Dr. Hopper then asked David if he had told Ruby how he felt. Ashamed, David admitted he hadn't.
"I'm just so confused, and, I just realized my feelings for her, the first step I took was to just get it all out, to someone who knows how to keep a secret."
Flattered, Archie was also a bit frustrated by David, Ruby was his girl, their relationship was still very young, he couldn't have David take that away now.
"I suggest that you tell Ruby and Mary Margaret at the same time, so the three of you can work this out."
David was pleased with this plan and thanked Dr. Hopper profusely before leaving.
