Destruction's Lullaby
Chapter 2: I choose to fight & Call across the stars
They were planning to take a trip to Dende's lookout. The boys were now wearing clothing semi patterned after Goku's after seeing Chi Chi wearing one of his outfits. She'd gotten fed up with the to long legs and shredded them off wound up with the under shirt more like a halter top. But after a few modifications it still resembled a feminine version of her husbands favorite outfit. Astra wound up with a back saber tooth as a pet when she saved it as a kitten but now as it grew the thing was huge. It constantly chased thieves away from the fields so Chi Chi was semi attached to the fuzzy thing. Plus when Goten tried to hide from bath time the cat would point out his hiding place. Astra had laughed herself silly hearing that one. "The great tattle-cat!? Oh boy, they will never live that one down. Did you get a picture?" When Chi Chi had produced the photo Astra's had stuffed her face in a pillow to muffle the giggles.
Chi Chi understood she had had to do the same thing. So as they finished encapsulating everything they were going to need for the trip, they called the boys and the four took to the sky. They flew for hours playing games and even having a few sparing matches, but all in all a great trip. "You know, were I still human, I do not think I would enjoy the freedom of flying so much." Laughter from her family, surrounded her. "You wouldn't have left the ground except on of those flying machines.. And they are so horribly loud Chi." Chi Chi snorted her agreement. She realized how much more sensitive sayians were to body posture, emotions, voice tone. But their emotions ran deep and vibrant. Chi Chi wondered what was going to happen when Vegeta found out Bulma had all but given away his cub.
The guy was an ass but he was her husbands best friend so that had to count for something. Goku must have seen something her human eyes had missed. Both females lowered their ki as they closed in on the look out circling slowly both could detect the sounds and raised ki of battle. "On your guard Chi." She heard the low words in sayian. Kill if necessary to protect your cub. I will watch your back. Chi Chi growled softly back. The same goes for you. A snort of understanding and they carefully landed on the platform. Looking around, both advanced in slow well practiced movements. A figure surged forward from both sides at the same time. Krillen wondered what the hell these new people were as he shot towards them readying an attack. He saw the one not facing him launch a kinda familiar attack only this was pin-point accurate and aimed to kill. They were obviously not allies of the invaders. Then he saw a familiar little guy clinging to the other woman's back. "Goten." He turned and fled, trying to get to Goku as fast as possible.
Chi Chi and Astra kept tearing down anyone who approached them. Trunks cried out seeing a guy coming at him and Astra wheeled around claws extended going for the kill. One foot-paw met the guys face scoring deep slashes before one hand tore into his chest and she reached into his chest and yanked his still beating heart out. She threw it in the face of a guy attacking Chi Chi who blasted the blinded guys head clean off. The Z-fighters came over and Krillen pointed the females out. Chi Chi cried out as she was forced to take on two opponents she tossed Goten to the other female who snarled. "Chi!" The white maned one yelled. "Go! Your much faster than I. Go! Protect my cub until his father arrives!" Vegeta understood what was happening. "Kakarot, that is your wife." He watched the normally kind man, melt into the guise of a sayian male who's mate was in danger. He surged forward leaving them behind as the second female danced among the battles, blasting her way free.
He heard the howl of a sayian cub Mummy! His own instincts screamed at him. Then he heard a second cub cry. Aunty Chi! He looked up and he could see the female carried a second cub one with distinctive blue hair. His cub. She all but fired a ki wave to dodge an attacker that nearly caught up. Vegeta snarled. My cub! I'm coming! He flew off after the female blasting away her pursuers. He noticed she had seen him and was trying to figure him out.
Chi Chi had thought she was done for when suddenly her senses were over taken with the smell of Goku. He was there before her, his outline glowing with power and she could finally see how wonderful her husband was from this perspective. "Goku..." He reached out and touched her face, seeming to examine her. "Chi Chi is that really you?" She only smiled and nodded. "Yeah, I'm a sayian now. A different breed but a sayian none the less." She pulled his head down for a kiss feeling her fangs tug his lip and the oh so wonderful feeling of his growl. "Chi Chi, I didn't realize quite how much I missed you until I smelled you." Her tail danced up his leg and he quivered. "ooh that feels interesting. Something I need to ask Vegeta about." Chi Chi snapped her head up. "Oh shit!" Surprise caught the rest, Chi Chi cursed? "I have to catch up to Astra. She's got the boys." Goku gave her an odd look. "The other female?" She nodded. "She actually saved me. Its something you should be sitting down to hear." He instant transmissioned them to the fleeing ki. Astra barely dodged them. Snarling in caution as she circled. "Astra this is Goku." The taller female snickered. And both sayian men could feel the amusement. "His hair looks like you struck him with a lightening curse." Chi Chi tried not to laugh. "Yeah but I love him because he's given me good sons, a safe home and chased off many enemies from my door." Vegeta hovered closer to the females and Kakarot. Kakarot's wife was speaking like a sayian female introducing a potential mate to her family for inspection, this was a taste of his home and it tasted bitter to the prince.
"A sayian is a sayian Goku. So you are my kin's husband not yet her mate." Kakarot turned his head to him with wide eyes and for some reason his pride surged through him. "I am Vegeta, Prince of Vegeta-sei. Kakarot is son of Bardock. Who are you?" The female's purple-blue eyes appraised him now with a far kinder gaze. "I am Celestial Romanastra Blackmoon of Ryu-sei, Elder kin sister to Chi of the house of Son." Her silver tail flicked the air behind her. Vegeta was struck for a moment. A dire sayian and Kakarot's wife is now a gray sayian, with kin ties to the royal house of Ryu-sei. He nodded. "Kakarot. Your wife is now younger sister to a royal house. Her elder kin is before you. A silver sayian." He saw Kakarot's youngest cub want his mama and heard a gentle word in sayian. Fly, slowly. He watched the cub fly over to his mother and be snugged back into her tail and Chi Chi relax. "I didn't believe you Astra. About the mother's rage... I do now." An understanding but amused snort.
"Perhaps this conversation should take place back at the lookout, the cubs are tired and need food. We have flown a long way." The way back was slow but Vegeta kept looking at his cub who looked back. Daddy. The word in Sayian made his head snap back to the cub from where they'd wandered away. "How long have you had the cub?" The female thrummed. "I got my cub about a year ago.." Chi Chi butted in. "Astra wait until we get there to tell the who story. I have a feeling there is going to be a few roars." A bark of laughter. "They wouldn't be males if they didn't roar at what has transpired Chi. A sayian is a sayian no matter the coloring." When they returned the rest of the Z-fighters were waiting. Gohan came forward. "Mom?" She smiled. "Yes son. Only now I'm not so fragile." A low huff of agreement.
Suddenly she was hugging her older son, felt him touch his younger brother and then heard. "OW! He bit me!" Loud snickering and the words. My space! I bite you again if you steal it. Astra snickered. "Astra your not helping." The larger female moved her tail and Trunks came into view, he was chewing his fist a wide smile on his face. "Ugh." The gleaming eyes focused as she pointed at the two boys seeming to play peek a boo around her. "Better sort it out before you have a full blown fight on your claws." Chi Chi sighed pulling Goten from his favorite spot and growling at him when he wouldn't let go of her shirt. Behave! Both boys shrunk from the tone. Vegeta's eyes widened, here was his people. They were being revived in front of his eyes. Goku looked bewildered and looked at the spikier haired male for guidance. "She demanded they behave, in sayian. Where did you..?" Chi Chi pointed to the silver who was playing with his cub. "She's taught the boys and me." They got inside and as food was served Astra snapped at the cubs when they went to grab food from the table. Stealing food before all are seated is bad manners, you come from better than that. Sit still hands in your laps, tails curled. Chi Chi's ears twitched and she noticed the others were watching her. "She's making the boys mind their table manners. Taking food from a table before the whole house is seated is highly disrespectful. The boys are getting reminded of that."
Vegeta surprised the rest when he sat down across from his son. The boy seemed overjoyed to see him. As the story of the girls first meeting was told Astra's eyes met Vegeta's. His obsidian gaze wandered her face, her eyes weren't still either. While not the towering height of his comrade he was a respectable height for a male. And she liked the spiky mane. It gave him personality. She huffed softly for his attention. His eyebrow raised in question. Why, if there is some coming threat have you not called home to Vegeta-sei? Old-spiky head surly misses his cub and you are their crown prince. Vegeta almost fell out of his chair before answering, how good it felt to speak his own language. Freeza destroyed Vegeta-sei, when I was a cub all the other sayians of my breed are lost. She snickered at him. You jest! Before I left Ryu-sei, spoke with your Ma. She still waits for you to come home. As far as I know as Chi told me, the dragon was asked to undo all the death Freeza had caused. Did you not think that included Vegeta-sei? Vegeta tried not to pant.
Chi Chi heard the rapid conversation between the two, catching most of it. "Do you think they'd help us?" Vegeta's head snapped to her fast enough his neck clicked. Everyone else was wondering what was going on. "What are we missing here?" Goku asked. "I didn't know that when you fixed all that Freeza had done it restored Vegeta-sei. Kakarot, we both have family there." He looked confused. Chi Chi came to his aid. "To a sayian family is everything. Its one of their biggest driving forces, their uniting strength." a chuckle. "You know why the Cold-jin hated us Sayian so much?" Astra said amused. The whole table looked at her intrigued. "Why?" Krillen asked. "Their race while powerful, once they reach their peak that's it. However, when Freeza made the mistake of killing a black-mane named Turles. That spelled the unleashing of a wrath he had never known before. And power he could not match. Turles had met a blue sayian female named Swiftstar. When she discovered what Freeza had done to her beloved mate to be, Swiftstar traveled to the home world of the cold-jin and destroyed it wiping out every living being on the planet before destroying the planet itself."
"She left behind his scouter as a warning and made for home to find where he had been taken and laid to rest. Freeza and two others both male became the only cold-jin left so they themselves were living on borrowed time. Freeza needed to find that female for revenge, he never did. And so he used the only sayian breed he could as his personal tools and fighters. Buts its why he hated and feared sayians, if you can't kill us in the first attack we will rise up stronger then before and come back to kill you." Vegeta spoke then and threw Goku for another loop. "Turles is Kakarot's brother. They were born at the same time. Turles being the elder of the pair." Chi Chi was rather shocked. "Twins?" Astra tried not to laugh.
"Your saying that sayians might be willing to come here and help us?" Piccolo asked, his pointed green ears twitching. "I'm not saying that." Astra said and he almost relaxed, until she continued speaking. "Whatever your preparing for that is coming, it is obvious a larger assault force is needed. It is not a might, they will come and help." Krillen scoffed. "And why would a bunch of them help us?" Astra looked at Vegeta with questioning eyes. "You humans do remember I am crown prince of Vegeta-sei right?" A few of them flushed he realized they actually had forgotten. Goku looked at Vegeta then turned to Astra. "What about you?" She laughed for a good two minutes. "I am of Ryu-sei. The dire home world. When I contact my father Ryu-jin King of the Dire sayians, he will convene the council of Kings. The five breeds of sayians will stand united against a foe, something that has not happened in eons." She looked at Chi Chi. "He will be most pleased to know he now has a second daughter, he always wanted more cubs. Mama will try to snuggle yours often." Chi Chi laughed at the looks of dismay. Tien spoke up then. "We do not have a communicator that powerful." Astra pulled a device off her belt, and opening it made it bigger. "What is that?"
Yamcha asked loudly from the far end of the table. "An intergalactic communicator you stone-head." Chi Chi snorted but even that wasn't as much of a surprise as Vegeta laughing. His fangs stood out when he grinned. "Why are you giving me those looks?" Goku answered him. "No one's heard you actually laugh before." Vegeta thought about it. "Didn't have anything to laugh about." Astra set the device on the table and was typing away on the screen. A cute little dragon was on the screen chasing a little orb. "Its connecting." Suddenly a projection of a rather huge seeming male with same mane and tail as Astra appeared on the screen. "Romanastra!" A grin lit his face. "Papa! So good to see you!" The large sayian huffed as he was shoved somewhat out of the way and a curvaceous form settled into his lap. "My beautiful one!" "Mama, I have missed you these few years away from Ryu-sei. And I have news." Both sets of ears perked and turned towards her.
"This male next to me is Vegeta. Yes papa Tataka's cub." The male gave out a loud bark of sound. "Your father will be most happy to hear from you Vegeta. We thought you lost to the monster Freeza." Vegeta was struck speechless before thrumming his gratitude. "Mama, I also wish to introduce a new kin sister Chi. I wound up saving her life and her cub from some invading cub-killer. And she needed my blood to regain her health or she would have died." The female was where Astra got her eyes from and they met Chi Chi's and both smiled. "A second daughter. I always wanted more cubs." Astra chuckled. "I can fulfill another wish you have chewed my ears about."
Astra set Trunks on the table where the communicator could see and the royal parents seemed to melt. "Is that?" "Your gran-cub by kin-right. Chi has two cubs you can spoil." Her mother squealed. "Any female?" Snickers echoed. "Sorry mama all male." The King laughed. "Excellent! Tiny male cubs to try their teeth soon." "Oh no mate of mine, those cubs are not going to play battlefield with you and Vegeta!" Astra shook her head. "Same ol' spiky head. Still trying to perfect his bomb attack?" Her mother rolled her eyes. "No, thankfully they gave that up when the four of them nearly buried themselves in a rock slide." Chi Chi laughed.
"Indeed young one, indeed." Astra pointed to Goku and Chi Chi pulled him into view, both parents looking shocked. "What are you doing there Turles?" Goku flushed. "Um, I'm not Turles. I'm Goku, or I guess Kakarot." Astra watched her father nearly choke on his drink. "By the dragon's egg boy! You've been missing nearly as long as Vegeta. Bardock had given up all hope of you ever returning. It broke your mother's heart. You are the youngest of three male cubs." Goku blinked. "Are my parents still alive?" The old man laughed. "You truly do not know Kakarot? Your father Bardock is royal guard to the King of Vegeta-sei. Your kith stands not a tail length from you. Your brothers and parents will be over the moons with news you have not only survived but found a way to contact us." Astra raised a finger. "Papa, Kakarot is Chi's husband. He sired her cubs." Her mother squealed. "That ties the royal house of Ryu-sei to a noble house of Vegeta-sei. I want to call Nauel, she misses her cub so."
Chi looked at Astra. "Lady Nauel is Queen of Vegeta-sei." Chi Chi got it, Vegeta's mother was still alive. "So my cub what else have you called for beside such good tidings." Astra looked her father in the eye. "I need you to reconvene the council of Kings." He looked at her, he said nothing but waited. "There is a threat coming here in two earth years. Your gran-cubs were born on this world. Kakarot knows only this world as home. This world has sheltered our kind from the kin killer Freeza. Chi has said the kin killer met his death here on this land. This world should come under the protection of the Sayians. Because if not only to piss off the kin killer in the afterlife, then we would be no better than he if we left them to die."
The male looked at his cub and a smile crossed his lips exposing one fang. "I have seen it cub. The ruler you will become and I find my heart sides with yours. I will make the calls. I will call your communicator back in three days." A scoff. "Watch the whack a pin papa." The old sayian rubbed behind one ear. "Warning well noted my cub. I have a feeling I'm going to need it." With a laugh the picture turned off. "Well we'll know in four days." Yamcha made a double take. "What do ya mean four days, the guy said three." Astra looked at Vegeta who smirked. "That's three days on their side of the galaxy you baboon, on this side your days are shorter and thus it will take four of your days instead three."
