The lion the witch the wardrobe... and Edward?
Chapter 2.
"WHO'RE YOU CALLING A HALF PINT MIGET!" Ed screeched at the lady, in a posture that made him seem quite a lot shorter. "Pft, you obviously." Edmund sneered to his sibling. Ed cranked his head to look the accused dead in the eye- but sensibility took over, he shook it off and clambered into the old horse drawn cart. Curiously to the children his leg made a large thunk... Why was that?
After staring- yet again- the four realised that a fair amount of time had passed. This made them all hastily clime into the cart. They each didn't have a clue of what they were expecting. Lucy thought of a castle like building with furnishes to match, Edmund thought of a castle too- but one in which great knights battled in, Susan thought of a large homely cottage and Peter Dreamt of a corridor maze of a building that held plenty of secrets.
All of which were let down as they approached a monster of a building that looked in need of refurbishments. Edward had a small smile plastered on his face; he knew that he was about to enjoy his time there.
One by one they each stepped down onto a gravelled driveway each gazing up in awe at the four - if not more- storied estate. Mrs Mcredy ushered them inside- "don't touch anything!" She sternly informed to the children as Lucy went to touch an important artefact. "Huff, Mr. Elric?" She questioned "just call me Ed" he interjected "yes, well, the professor says he does not have a need for you at the moment- however he insists upon you not being disheartened" she said slowly whilst anxiously waiting to see if 'Ed' would snap "- so he has arranged for you to stay in the suite with the evacuees until the need for you arises" and with that being said she turned away from Edward and the children which were looking flabbergasted at the predicament. Sighing Ed turned on his heels and faced the largish wooden door in front of him. He presumed correctly as when the door was wide open 5 beds had being set with fluffy pillows and puffy duvets. A large window at the back of the room peered down into the court yards and gardens bellow. Most unusually, Ed placed himself on his back on the bed closest to the window. He shut his eyes and reminisced "reminds you of Resimbol, doesn't it Al?" The trail of words came out of his mouth leaving the four British youngsters confused. They thought it must have been the tiredness getting to the young mans brain yet dismissed it almost immediately. They discussed plans for what to do the next day due to Edmunds moaning; deciding on going to explore the grounds. And went to bed.
Come the next morning the goldenrod haired bloke was no where to be seen, however heavy showered of rain took his place. The children where all mildly disappointed- Edmund the most- but Lucy being Lucy saw the light in the situation and voiced her opinion on the matter; which lead them all to play hide and seek.
Lucy frantically ran about the house trying to find the best hiding place. She came to a room that had a wooden wardrobe in one corner that could have easily being missed to the average passer-by and a blue bell in a vase on the window. Lucy ran I'm as she heard footsteps. Swiftly opening the varnished door she crawled in leaving a gap to gaze out of. The footsteps came nearer and nearer she retreated further and further back into the closet. She found herself a good few feet away from the doors when it struck her as peculiar she turned around to find herself in a land filled with snowy woods and Icy winds.
She wandered through the wilderness to find herself at a base of a rather antique looking lamppost. She tried her best to stop herself from freezing to death but to no avail. Luckily she heard the sound of a single pair of feet crunching in the snow- or should she say hooves!
