~At Soul's House~

"Mm, home sweet home," He opened the door to his house like mansion. The grand hall hand marble floors, it was decorated with antique furniture and paintings. He stepped into the living room, which had a leather couch, a plasma TV, and a crystal chandelier. The kitchen had the latest dish washer, a gigantic fridge and freezer, an old fashion oven, and state of the art stove. He continued his way to the stairs that climbed all the way to the third floor. Soul lived on the third floor; the third floor was just on giant room. "Hello, missed me?" He danced his fingers on the white keys of his grand piano, he never really plays anymore, he keeps it for sentimentality. He looked at the home phone on his desk, one missed call. "Must have been Wes," he pressed play to hear the message.

"Hey, Soul, why didn't you pick up? Anyway, I'll be stuck in New York for a couple more weeks. I transferred some money into your account for food, spend it wisely! Call me once you get this message."

"Yeah, thanks Wes," he laughed. He deleted the message and flopped onto his bed. His bed was a king with a red comforter with black pillows. In the middle of the room was a glass coffee table that had roses in a vase.

"Maybe, I'll call him," just then his cell phone went off. It was a message from Black*Star.

"Hey, Soul, what time are we meeting at that girl's house?"

He started typing the words, "at five, for dinner." Send. He checked the time; he had a good three hours till the party. 'Watch TV? Eat?' he glanced at the piano in the corner of his room. "Might as well, get my mind off things," he got up from his bed and to his piano. It surely was bigger than a keyboard, but mostly the same. He sat upon the bench, and placed his hands over the keys. He didn't start, he was not in the mood. "Play, Soul, the audience is waiting," he said in a mocking tone. Seconds passed, then seconds became minutes. "Forget this, I'll watch TV." He stood up and walked away from the piano, the room, and went downstairs.

~Maka's house, 4:56 p.m. ~

"Alright, dinner is done!" Maka wiped her hands on her apron. She had made beef, chicken, garlic bread, a salad, and for dessert chocolate cake. She glanced at the clock, 'they should be arriving soon.' She glanced down at what she was wearing, a light blue tank top and black laced skirt. Her hair was up in her normal style, two pigtails. 'Just my regular clothes, maybe I should change into something more fashionable? No, I don't have time…' She then heard a knock at the door and then saw the door laying down off its hinges.

"BLACK*STAR THE GREAT HAS ARRIVED!" The boy stood on top of the door, pointing his finger in the air.

"Black*Star! You just broke the door!" Tsubaki stood next to him, then grabbing him and dragging him to the couch.

"Hey, Maka," Liz walked in with her little sister at her side. Patty was "ohhh"-ing and giggling at everything.

"Hello Maka, don't you look symmetrical today," Kid smiled at her as he stepped around the door. He walked to the couch and sat down next to Black*Star.

"Hey, guys," she clapped her hands together and walked back to the kitchen, then she noticed something. "Where's Soul?"

Everyone looked at one another, hoping for one to have an answer. Unfortunately, Black*Star had the answer.

"If you want the answer, you'll have to beg me, please your god!" Black*Star jumped up on the coffee table and pointed his finger in the air.

"Idiot," Maka grabbed a book, and threw it at Black*Star head. It knocked him down to the ground in seconds flat. "Just answer me."

"He's at home," Black*Star laid on the ground with a fountain of blood coming out of his forehead.

"Don't worry, Maka, he'll come," Tsubaki smiled at her. "Let's not wait for him and start, we'll introduce ourselves. I'm Tsubaki and I play bass."

~Where Soul Is At~

"The hell, man! I've been waitin' for hours for the results!" The white haired boy slammed his fist down on the table.

"Sorry, the results will be in just a moment," the nurse, Nygus, told Soul. Head to toe, with a few exceptions, she was wrapped in bandages. She left the room, leaving Soul frustrated.

"Hello, Soul, how are you?" Medusa, another nurse, walked in.

"Hey," he blandly said. "Are the results done?"

"Yes, and you seem to have problem with your blood, but these pills will do the trick," she handed him a bottle filled with pills.

"What's wrong with my blood?" He looked at her questionably.

"Something has contaminated it, but taking these pills will help it go away. Take one each day, for an hour it will feel a little fuzzy, but you should be able to drive. One of the symptoms is drowsiness, but that usually only happens if your blood pressure rises. The pills kick in, because if your blood speeds up the contamination will spread faster around your body. So I recommend taking it easy until the contamination is gone."

He looked at her and back at the pills, "how long does it take for the pills to get rid of it?"

She smiled at him, "only a month, and do not worry. My son has the same contamination, only more severe, yours is only at stage one. It will be gone maybe even earlier than a month."

He sighed, stuck the pills in his pocket, and stood up. "Thanks Nurse Medusa, charge it to Wes."

"Will do, and your next checkup is next Wednesday," she waved to him as he walked out.

As he made his way towards the motorcycle, he looked up at the sky. He laughed to himself at the look of the sun. He remembers a story used to tell him, that at why the sun was so bright, the smile it had was so bright it could warm up an entire planet. He looked down at the ground and then made his way towards the motorcycle. He put the keys in the ignition and started up the vehicle and sped towards Maka and Blair's apartment.

~The Apartment~

"So, Maka, your last name is Albarn?" Liz looked at the girl who sat next to her on the couch.

"Yes?" She looked at the bright blonde girl.

"I've heard that name before! Where?" She placed her hand under her chin thinking.

"Well, my mother I a famous traveler and my papa works at a famous company," She stated.

Kidd perked up, "you wouldn't be the daughter of Spirit Albarn, would you?"

She was shocked, "you know my papa?"

He started to laugh and so was Liz, "your father works for my father at Shinigami Hotels, he goes on and on about his daughter!"

She shook her head and got up, "I'll be right back, I forgot to get the mail." She waved to her guests and made her way towards the door. "The bathroom is the first door on the left." She opened the dorr and left.

"She seemed annoyed, should we not of laughed at her father?" Liz whispered to Kidd.

He looked at her questionably and put his hands behind his back, "no, she seemed to be annoyed at the sound of her father. Bad blood?" He looked up at the ceiling. "And Liz," he smirked, "why are you whispering?"

She blushed slightly and turned her attention onto the coffee table filled with food. Black*Star and Tsubaki came in with more food from the kitchen.

~The Mail Room~

She gripped the key and stuck it in the key slot and turned it left. She opened the compartment and grabbed the mail. She looked through the mail to see anything interesting. The room she was currently in was the ground room sharing it with the reception and laundry room. She looked up at the sound of the glass doors being opened, she didn't look over at who it was until she heard a familiar voice.

"Yo, what's up, Tiny Tits?" She stared at him with a look saying both "say-it-again-I-dare-you" and "you're-late".

"You're late, y'know?" She tilted her head up with a smug look. "Guess you really didn't care about it, even after I made all that food," she gave a big pout with one finger to trace down her cheek.

"Sorry, caught up in the hospital," he scratched the back of his head.

She looked at him with a surprised look, "what were you doing at the hospital?"

He heard concern in her voice, which caught him off-guard. He never really expected concern coming from her towards him! "Doesn't matter, besides, shouldn't you be hosting your party?"

She huffed and turned her head to the side, "we were at a down time, besides we were-" she mumbled the last words.

He cupped his ear to tell her he couldn't hear her.

"We were waiting for you," she said the words in a harsh whisper. She turned her whole body so he could only see her back. He took this and walked up and hugged her from behind. She blushed and stuttered, "w-what are you doing?"

He smirked and whispered into her ear, "you know you shouldn't wear something like that out of the apartment, don't you?" He turned around her around and looked her in the eye, he started to lean down, "you don't know what pervert might be around the corner."

Her blush deepened and slapped him with the hand that didn't have the mail, "YOU'RE THE ONLY PERVERT HERE!"

He stood there shocked, with his hand covering his cheek. "WHY THE HELL DID YOU DO THAT?!" He exclaimed.

"YOU were the one acting all weird! What the hell are you doing?!" She gripped the mail harder.

"What did I say? I just told you I went to the hospital, was that really something to hit me over?" He looked at her with a stare.

Her features softened into a confused look, "do you not remember what you just did?"

He tilted his head and had a frown on his face, "what did I just do?"

She waved her hand in front of her face, "nothing, absolutely nothing!" She tried to be as convincing as she could, but she knew it didn't come out that way.

He looked at her confused; he cocked his head to the side and looked at her. He scanned her up and down, he felt something weird inside of him, something in his gut. "Whatever, we better gets to the party," he stuffed his hands in his jean pockets.

"That's right, Liz and Kidd wanted to play a game," Maka smiled happily, she began to skip up the stairs.

Soul stood there, frightened of what game they are thinking of playing.
