Alec's POV
School in Idris was the same everyday. Get up, eat breakfast, walk a short distance to school, be alone all day, then walk home. I hated home. My parents ignore me and pretend I don't exist, so I'm always alone. However, there is this one girl who catches my eye all the time, and by catches my eye, I mean to be friends. She has a bad attitude, short-tempered, doesn't care, top Shadowhunter but everyone hates her due to her parents and blood.
Her name is Paige-Elizabeth Lunastella
No ones POV: School
School was quiet like usual. You heard the occasional voices of Aline Penhallow and Carly Blackthorn talking about their bleach blonde hair. Paige was walking down the empty halls, head up, her cat eye glamoured so the colour stayed the same, but so the cat pupils looked normal. Then she heard the voices of the girls she hated most: Aline and Carly. Behind them was the whole Academy to witness. "Look Aline, it's the dumb girl." Carly said, both girls laughed.
Paige-Elizabeth's POV
I rolled my eyes. "Look who's talking." I retaliated. Aline managed a fake hurt face. "Why's that?" "If you spent more time paying attention than bleaching your hair, you might have some brain cells." I said, then I laughed. They looked furious, then they lunged at me.
Alec's POV
It was quiet where I was sitting, up above the lockers in the hallway. I saw Paige walking down the halls, alone. Then I heard the click-clack of heels: Aline and Carly. The last thing I heard was Paige laughing before the bleach blondes lunged at her. You could see that Paige tried to move, but she was held in place by at least 30 students, she was that strong.
Aline started kicking her in the gut, while Carly ripped at her hair. I could see blood escaping her, covering the floor in a puddle. But Paige didn't show any signs of pain in her face or body which surprised me. Then her hair went the colour of blood red, her cat eyes shone through the glamour, they were red and orange with gold specks. She did something I was not prepared for.
Paige POV
I felt rage bubble up inside of me. I didn't feel pain, only rage. I brought my hands up to block the attack, when I saw red magic shoot out of my hands, making everyone around me hit the lockers. Next thing I knew I was engulfed in red flames, teachers running towards the students. Then I noticed a blue-eyed boy who picked me up, before the world went black.
Alec POV
I picked up Paige, ignoring her protests for me not to. The flames she were engulfed in wouldn't go away, I could feel it burning my skin, it was very painful. But I was going to help this poor girl, her eyes fluttered shut. I carried her towards the forests which were abandoned. I put her down on a pile of leaves. Her blood red hair stood out in the green leaves. She must still be mad, Alec thought. Then her red cat-eyes flew open. She jumped up, alerted.
