It's not cancerous, I'm fine, and it's not painful but she did say that the tumor is partially blocking one of my fallopian tubes, combine that with my age and she said that the chance that I'll ever get pregnant again is around just 10%. I'm so sorry Nicky, I know how badly you wanted another baby. She did say that I could have it removed but during the surgery there's a chance that it will damage the fallopian tube, essentially ruining that fallopian tube which will only leave me with one healthy one, meaning it will not improve my chances of getting pregnant." She told him as she burst into tears again.
"Hey, shhh, it's ok, it's ok." He told her as he stroked her hair.
He was actually relieved, sure he wanted another baby but considering that just moments ago he thought that she had cancer this news was a piece of cake to take.
He wrapped his arms around her tightly.
"Listen, we have six beautiful, healthy children, if that's all we get then I'm ok with that, and if we get a surprise that'd be great too, but I don't want you to feel bad about anything, it's thanks to you that I have those six kiddos and for that I'm forever grateful, and 10% is not 0, we could try, a lot." He said with a huge smile.
She chuckled softly and shook her head.
"Thank you Nicky." She told him with a smile.
He leaned over and kissed her cheek.
"You know Jacks, if we really want another baby and can't have one we could always look into adoption, I fully believe that I can love another child as much as I do our biological children, and I know you could, heck if you could have you'd of adopted several of your students over the years."
"Yes I could, and you're right, there are several of my students that I would have loved to adopt."
"How about we give it awhile, let's say a year or so and try to get pregnant and if nothing happens it's ok, we'll start looking into adoption?"
"I like that idea, but honey adopting a child takes a while, it's a long process."
"I realize that, but if you think about it, so does pregnancy, it takes nearly a year."
"That's true." She agreed.
"So what do you say? Do you want to go with that plan?"
"Yes, and once again, thank you for being so supportive."
He reached over and grabbed her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze.
"What do you say we go get ready and go somewhere and have some fun?" He asked.
"I like that idea." She agreed.
The couple got ready and then went to a new Chinese restaurant for lunch and then caught a matinee comedy and then on a whim they went bowling something that they hadn't done together in forever.
They played two games, each winning once but Jackie was pretty sure Nick just let her win the second game to be nice although he wouldn't admit it.
After they had gotten home Jackie's spirits were uplifted, and she was so grateful to have a husband as sweet and supportive as Nick.
The End!
