No, I'm not back. Just trying my hand at writing again. In case I do come back- should I update the original or the revamped version? I know my writing style has probably changed a lot as well.

Each day she came to work, she walked in with the full intention to encourage her boss to get to work. There was no way he got to his position without doing something… and she was going to find out what it was.
He was never a jerk- in fact, he typically always looks the opportunity to open the door for her if the occasion arose. His war hadn't would burst her shoulder just slightly as she passed him and she could almost believe it was an accident.
Almost. The gleam in his golden eyes was always little too bright for everything he did to be entirely innocent.

This morning was a little different. For one, her oft-procrastinating boss had his work spread across his desk before Kaoru even arrived to work.
I should take a picture, she mused, put it in a frame. To commemorate the day he was doing work. Pulling out the new phone (that the company gave her. Score!) she did just that. She waved innocently when he looked up at her thorough the glass door to greet her.
Turning around, Kaoru headed to her desk and prepared for her day.
The morning had started out weird, and it got weirder when he didn't swing by her desk within in 15 minutes of her settling in. he normally always headed out at around 9- and Kaoru was concerned he was acting so out of character. When he didn't come around lunch time either and pester her to eat with him, Kaoru's worry led her to walking into his office on her own accord for the first time for something not office related.
She'd been in his office before, as his secretary she set his schedule and gave him updates. Three weeks into the job, she also started slipping in her own comments on the files and whatnot - not that it was called for, but she was interested in the work. She didn't go through college for nothing!
The modern office had a sleek, comfortable couch and Mr. Himura was sitting on it, having moved from his desk. he looked up at her in surprise-
"Am I missing a meeting or anything? It's rare for you to visit me." his smooth voiced asked her.
"Not at all- just thought I would check in. You didn't go on your rounds like you… usually… do…" Kaoru stuttered off because now he was standing and making his way over to her.
"Ah, so you missed me, didn't you?"
Kaoru jolted a little.
"Of course not! Just thought I would check in!" she made to turn around and leave when he caught her arm.
"Well, now that you're here, maybe you can help me go through all these. We're presenting to our biggest clients yet and I'm only a little stuck."
Of course Kaoru knew exactly what he was talking about- she was the one who had typed up the notes for the meeting after all.
"Of course!" and they got right to work.

The next time both of them looked up, the clock was nearing 5:00. time seemed to have sped up- it had been the first time Kaoru held a conversation with her boss beyond the basics. And beyond the times he hung out around her desk. She found him refreshing interesting, caring about what happens in the company and what effect his decisions had on the people.
he told her about the new baby the 5th floor security guard just had, about the different April fools pranks the IT department liked to play on the staff among other stories. In turn, Kaoru told him about her college experiences climbing buildings to discover the best stargazing spots as well as some of the trouble she got into with her friends. It had been an interesting afternoon, to say the least.
Kaoru headed back to her own desk, still thinking about her boss when with a jolt she realized-
She was getting attached to him. Oh no. This wouldn't do, not at all.
