Chapter 2- the day after
"Donna I just found out" First Lady Helen Santos says to Donna
"You found out what?" Donna asks
"You're pregnant. Josh told us since he was excited, congrats. You're going to be a wonderful mother and Josh is going to be a wonderful father, your hands are going to be filled with twins. Plus you've got bouquets of roses in your office from Josh and some other Democrats and Republicans congratulating you" First Lady Santos said
"I wasn't ready to announce my pregnancy yet. I'm barely showing. I'm excited but nervous to be a mother"
"You're going to do great. I'll allow Annabeth to cover for you while you're on maternity leave. This is so exciting. I'm so happy for you"
The First Lady then left Donna's office and Donna walked around her office she picked up the card that was on the red roses and it said
"I'm sorry that I told everyone you were pregnant. I was very excited. I love you so much"
She then looked at other cards and one of them was from the Bartlet's congratulating her and then Josh walked into her office and said
"I'm sorry that I told everyone. I was just excited"
"You're okay with it. Ainsley Hayes sent me a nice card, congratulating me"
"When's your next appointment?"
"I have another one in 2 weeks"
"I'm going to come"
"You better come"
Donna placed her hand on her belly and felt a kick and she said
"Josh, one of the babies just kicked me"
"Really?"
"Yeah, give me your hand"
Josh placed his hand on Donna's belly and he said
"Oh my god"
"Yeah"
Donna placed her other hand on the other side of her belly, she felt another kick from the other baby
"Can I have your hand again?"
Donna placed Josh's hand on her belly and he said
"I felt both of them kick. This is the happiest I have ever been"
Margaret walked into the room and said
"Donna and Josh I've found out some bad news about the pregnancy"
"What?"
"Mary Marsh found out about the pregnancy"
"Oh my god" Josh muttered
"Yeah she's calling the babies a bastard because the babies are going to be born out of wedlock and has said Donna's pregnancy is a scandal"
"I don't know what I'm going to do" Josh said
"I know what I'm going to do. Margaret set up a meeting for me and that bitch Mary Marsh I want to talk to her right now about why she had the decency to call my babies bastards and why my pregnancy is a scandal. She's messed with the wrong pregnant girl"
Hours went by and the meeting between Mary Marsh and Donna Moss happened. Donna looked at her and said
"Margaret close the door"
Margaret closed the door and Donna looked at Mary and said
"How dare you call my babies bastards. How dare you call my pregnancy a scandal"
"Donna it's not what god wanted for you"
"Lady you messed with the wrong pregnant girl. You even messed with the wrong father of the babies. I want you to apologize for what you said"
"Okay, how about you step down from your position"
"Excuse me?"
"You're not a great role model for girls who get pregnant out of wedlock"
"Look Mary, the babies weren't planned until me and Josh got married but I'm not stepping down. My office will issue a statement. President and First Lady Santos are very supportive of the pregnancy. I let my assistant know that this meeting is over and security is outside waiting for you. Your ass is going to be thrown out of the White House when you leave my office"
Donna looks at Mary and says
"Get out"
Mary leaves Donna's office while Mary's running down the hallway Josh comes in and says
"You scared Mary Marsh off?"
"Yeah, she doesn't scare me. She knows not to mess with me and my family"
"That's my girl" Josh says while kissing Donna's forehead
Donna felt her phone ring in her pocket she pulls it out the caller id says "daddy" she knows her dad and mom are calling she picks up the phone and says
"Hi daddy"
"Hi sweetheart, mom and I are going to come up tomorrow. We would really like to see our little girl. The chief of staff to the First Lady"
"Yeah sure daddy, I would love for you and mom to come up"
"Okay sweetie, we'll see you tomorrow. We love you"
"I love you too daddy"
She then hangs up the phone and she utters the words
"Oh shit"
"What?"
"My mom and dad are coming up. They don't know that I'm pregnant. Your mom knows"
"Your parents like me and they wouldn't be upset that I got you pregnant"
"My dad's really tough on guys like you. They'd probably find out about my pregnancy being a "scandal" from the lady who prays to the god who's to busy being indicted for tax fraud"
"Everyone in the Democratic Party hates her"
"Well maybe..."
"Well maybe what?" Josh says
"We can elope, it's just a thought. Maybe a few months later"
"Are you really thinking about getting married?"
"Well yeah but not right now, I want my dad to give you his blessing"
"I love you. This is going to work out. Our babies aren't a scandal like Mary Marsh says. Your parents and everyone will hear your truth. It's going to be okay" Josh says and then kisses Donna
"I love you too. I really can't help falling in love with you"
