Chapter 2
"Hey!" Morgan yelled taking a step forward.
The man grabbing Courtney pointed his gun at the girl's head emphasizing his point. Courtney let out a small whimper.
"Okay! Okay!" Morgan took a step back, hands raised in the air. "Let her go. Please."Take whatever you want, just don't hurt her."
The man holding Reid at gunpoint laughed. Reid felt it coming before the butt of the gun even connected with the back of his head. The man did it quick, knocking Reid unconscious. He fell to the floor.
Courtney moaned and whimpered. Her cries muffled by the hand covering her mouth. Tears flowed freely from her eyes as she watched Reid hit the floor. The man holding her struggled to keep her in his grasp.
Morgan took a deep breath. His breathing now shaky and fueled by his anger.
"Take one more step and the girl dies." The man holding Courtney told him.
Morgan didn't move. "Fine, what do you want?"
"My brother back!" The man standing over Reid cried. "You and your fancy little team of FBI agents killed him!"
Morgan looked confused. They hadn't killed anyone. "What are you talking about?"
"Our brother! You and your team killed him!"
Morgan looked as his daughter. The girl looked terrified.
"You arrested him for kidnapping those men in L.A. and now he's dead. They put him in a cell with some faggot and he killed himself. YOU KILLED OUR BABY BROTHER!"
Morgan jumped back as the man shouted the last part at him. He was only half focusing on the man's words anyway. His attention was on his daughter.
"Okay. Okay," Morgan kept his hands raised in the air, palms facing out. "I'm sorry about your brother. Really I am, but my daughter...She has nothing to do with this. This is my fault. Just let her go man. Please."
The man standing over Reid was crying now. Morgan had noticed his behavior had become more and hysterical as he spoke.
"No," the man holding Courtney screamed. "No, you are going to suffer just like we are."
Morgan's eyes grew wide as the man put down his gun and took out a fluid filled syringe and stuck it into Courtney's neck. Courtney struggled for a few seconds before losing consciousness and slipping to the ground.
"NO!" Morgan screamed. He lunged forward, heading for his daughter. He didn't get far. The man standing over Reid got to him first. Morgan tried to take the gun from the man but was overpowered. The man sidestepped Morgan and knocked him in the temple with the gun.
