Kukuh sat at Sen's bedside, having finally returned from training with Kuarsa. The healer had come and administered the medicine for the day, saying it would take a bit of time before it took effect, that it would look worse before it looked better. Kukuh had waited, waited, and indeed, Sen looked worse, but the medicine had yet to work.
He was covered in sweat, rolling around in his sheets, his eyes slightly opened as he muttered to imaginary visions before his eyes. His arms around raise weakly, longingly out to his hallucinations and then fall down to the bed, too weak to hold themselves up.
Kukuh reached for the rag he had placed on Sen's forehead, feeling the strange warmth within. Kukuh dipped the rag into the bowl of cool water at his feet before replacing it on Sen's forehead. His fever still hadn't broken yet, but Kukuh was doing everything he could to help.
"Kukuh," Sen muttered as Kukuh reached for another rag and began running the cool liquid over his skin.
"Shush," Kukuh said, leaning down and taking each of the sick boy's arms and wetting them. "Rest."
Sen reached out his arms, using the little strength he could muster, to wrap around Kukuh's neck. "Rest with me."
"No," Kukuh said. "You need to get cooler and-"
"Stay with me," Sen pleaded.
Kukuh sighed before dropping the rag back into the water. He crawled into the bed and wrapped his arms around the sick boy's waist. "Better?" he asked.
He was met with the sound of gentle snoring, Sen's hallucinations disappearing long enough him to fall asleep comfortably in Kukuh's arms.
Kukuh chuckled. He would let the boy sleep a bit before getting out of the bed. He still had to break the boy's fever.
