Daryl isn't home yet from work yet. He had mentioned something about a big work load today. It was Spring, so all the animals were just coming out of hibernation, and there was a burst of Springtime activity. Mating. Nest and burrow building. Trash cans to knock over and attics to raid. He had a large quantity of squirrel, raccoons and possums on the docket today.

"Amy, can you show Merle up to his room? He hasn't been here since we moved in." Andrea says.

"Ok! Come on." She motions to Merle, who's looking around the living room, like he's never seen it before. Probably because he hasn't.

When Daryl and Merles dad died, Daryl had given the girls free rein of the house. He had quite a chunk of money saved up, and he'd given it to them to play. They had renovated everything, but the basic structure. The house looked pretty good now, and it felt like home.

Amy skips up the stairs, glancing behind her to make sure Merle is still there.

"That's Daryl and Andreas room," she says pointing to the white door at the end of the hall. " And the door with the A on it is mine," she smiles at him, and he grunts. "And this room beside mine is yours! We renovated it for you. It hasn't been touched since Daryl moved your stuff into it though."

"You always this chirpy?" Merle asks with a sidelong glance at her.

"Most of the time," she agrees, and giggles. "You'll get used to it. Welcome home!" she says, and she stands on tiptoe to give him a kiss on the cheek.
