The ding of the console alerted the man in the pinstripe suit and Converse trainers to the fact that his ship has computed the probability of something he had been trying to make happen since the day on the beach thirty six months, three weeks and four days earlier. That day had left him emptier than he had cared to admit to. Sure there had been a companion or two since he had said goodbye to Rose, but it hadn't been the same. He had nearly driven himself insane going over numbers and percentages and maps.
He took a deep breath and closed his eyes and ran his hand through his messy brown hair before turning the screen so he could see it. Opening his eyes he read as the ancient language of his home planet ran on the screen. With each word the corners of his mouth turned more upwards as a grin spread across his face. There was a crack in the fabric of time and dimensions. One that gave him twenty four hours to see Rose and ask her to join him. It was a big chance- she had probably started a life in London. But it was worth it, even if she said no-to see his Rose just one more time.
The Tardis had found her, the link between his ship and his soul mate was still there. The link that had been created when she had looked into the heart of the Tardis. He rubbed the console in applaud and looked up. "Good ole girl, I knew you missed her as much as I did."
With a smile on his face he ran around, talking to the Tardis as much as he was talking to himself, muttering things about how this was his chance and how excited he was to see her and admitting that he was nervous- something he would never admit to another person. He flipped a switch, spun some dials and yelled "Allons-y." With that he was off, hurtling through time and space to finally see Rose.
