Chapter 2 : Mortgage
"Mr. Mayor, what are you doing?" I just now realized that i was looking out the window for about ten minutes now and was probably being very awkward "O-oh... sorry Isabelle, what did you say?" "Well, now that you officially are the Mayor we need to go to the Town square to plant the town tree!" she jumped up into the air when she said that "Tree? I'm sorry if I sound rude here but... what does a tree have to do with me being Mayor?" She looked at me with a dumb smile and said "Its a little custom in our town, whenever we have a new leader we plant a tree in the center of the town so hopefully you and the tree will grow alongside each other!" I was actually surprised at how much thought these people had put into something so simple as planting a tree "Okay well, what time are we going to do this then?" she looked at her watch and started to panic "R-Right now actually!" She grabbed my hand and dragged me outside "Hurry! We need to be there now!" and once again my new Secretary was hauling my ass around the town. But at last we arrived at the town square where presumably all the villagers were gathered "Okay guys! Were here!" Isabelle yelled over the chattering citizens "Now, Mr. Nook, please grab the Sapling if you would?" I looked into the crowd to find this 'Nook' and saw a Tanooki wearing a blue vest and tie and handed the sapling that Isabelle was talking about to me. then he whispered to me "Mr. Cinnos, after the ceremony please come and see me in my store on main street if you will." then he left without another word. "uh, okay?" i stared at Isabelle waiting for her to tell me what to do but she just quickly looked at the plot in the center of Town Square then back at me. So i slowly walked over to the plot and planted the sapling.
1 Hour Later
"Hello? Mr. Nook?" after the ceremony i went to the Tanooki's "Ah Mayor Cinnos, I am glad you came to see me as per my request. I would like to talk to you about your living arrangements. you see since you are new you will need a home and i just so happen to own this store, which just so happens to sell houses. you can probably guess where this conversation is going..." I looked at the Raccoon with a raised eyebrow as i felt i was being pushed into something. but he was right, I did need a place to live and he was the only person i knew who did this sort of thing "Okay Mr. Nook, ill get a house. how much will it cost?" i pulled out my wallet as the Tanooki smirked.
Oh sweet Jesus.. i am so sorry if this chapter was crap, but i really couldn't think of anything to do with this one because i needed to get all the main stuff out of the way so i can get on with all this good stuff. i'm also going to be writing this story in a different way after this chapter because of the way it sounds now is really long winded and boring, so im going to be writing in the third person insted of just Cinnos'es POV
