Disclaimer:I wish I owened Twilight. Until the movie comes out...Raging screaming fangirls.
Alyssa-Thank you, my lovely girl. See you tomorrow in 2nd period!! And before school when you're done with band.
Edward was already out of the little house and down on the beach, helping Renesmee in the water. I smiled as I watch Renesmee cling to Edward's pale leg. Jacob was in the sand laughing and Edward was trying to pry the girl off gently. As I walked closer I heard their conversation.
"Renesmee it's just water!" Edward assured.
"No!" She screamed in defiance.
"Way to be a father." Jacob snickered. Edward turned his head and glared at him.
"Well then you try it mutt." Jacob stood and smirked proudly.
"Fine." He transformed into his werewolf form and walked knee deep into water. Edward placed Renesmee on his back and she automatically wrapped her hands in the russet fur. Jacob started walking further out and then gentle waves came. Renesmee started screaming as the waves hit Jacob's belly. She was in no danger so I stood by Edward. He put his arm around my shoulder.
"Our daughter is scared of water?" I raised my eyebrow.
"I don't understand it."
"Why? She's young enough to be."
"True." Edward agreed. "But she comes from two brave parents."
"That's true." Another shrill scream rose in the air. Edward's and my head whipped around quickly to see nothing. I started to freak out and move to the water's edge. Edward moved with me, his eyes as wide as mine. Jacob surfaced a couple seconds later, with a very wet and very unhappy Renesmee clinging to his back like a tick on a dog.Hmm, that's appropriate. Ironic. I pushed through the water and snatched Renesmee off of Jacob's back and we were safely standing on sand about a second later. My eyes took in Rensmee's figure. Her usual curls were now just dark, dripping waves, and her soft, passive face was filled every inch with horror. As Jacob changed back into human form and put on his shorts, despite his wet body, he walked up to us. He tried to take Rensmee from me but she wasn't having it. A dainty hand rose and was placed softly on my cheek.
"Sorry Jacob she's mad at you." Edward started howling with laughter at her thoughts, and Jacob glared at the slumped over vampire. I couldn't help but smile back. It was cute. I sat on a towel that was laid across the sand and Renesmee sat in my lap. Edward crawled through the sand over to me. His nose wrinkled as the wind blew in our direction.
"Ugh. Jacob you smell worse when you're wet. Here." He threw a towel and Jacob easily caught it.
"Thanks." He sneered. His brown eyes spotted something as he was drying off. The tall werewolf bent over to pick it up and then squatted in front of us. As a peace offering Jacob held out his arm offering Renesmee a medium sized seashell. Her eyes scanned over the soft pink and white shell, and she gently took it from his hands. By the look on her face it seemed like she was deliberating whether or not to accept Jacob's apology. Edward chuckled softly, and I was about to ask him why when Renesmee stuck her arms out toward Jacob. The tanned teenager smiled triumphantly before swooping her up in his arms and walking down the beach. I smiled softly and placed my head on Edward's shoulder. He automatically pulled me closer and we watched them walk down the beach.
"There goes our daughter." Edward murmured. I gasped and pulled away.
"Don't say that! That makes it seem like she's gone forever!"
"Sorry. Guess I did phrase that wrong didn't I?"
"You think?" Edward snorted at my sarcastic comment and replied with,
"Why yes, I do think. I also hear what other people think as well." Laughter bursted from my throat. Edward joined in and we fell back into onto the sand laughing.
"This life is too perfect." I smiled at Edward.
"And why's that?" He asked, smiling back.
"Well, I have you for one. And we have a daughter." Edward's smile got wider.
"I really do like the sound of that." I chuckled.
"I know you do. And I still get to keep my best friend." I finished.
"You're right. That is the perfect life. We should be in Better Homes Weekly." He joked. I laughed and looked up into the clear, blue sky.
"You know what?"
"What?" Edward asked, resting his head on my chest, instead of the other way around for once.
"If the whole family were here it'd be absolutely perfect." Edward laughed, and the deep sound vibrated through my chest and then throughout the rest of my body.
"Yeah, but it'd get a little chaotic."
"That's true, but still. You have to admit, it'd the ultimate family vacation." I joked, rolling my eyes. Edward shifted his body so he lay on top of me.
"It would be. And I do want to try it sometime. But we have to have just our little family vacation."
"I agree. Every year."
"Every year." He nodded.
