Author's Note: Here's brand new numbah tsuu(2)! I guess the story is a bit slow-paced, but there's no initial plot here, so it doesn't really matter. Suggestions would be nice too, if you like. The POV's might change from time to time, but it must be obvious who's saying who and blah (…sounds like an excuse for not writing the fic properly though xP)

The following day was a Saturday, and thankfully, due to some unexpected events, they'll be going home at 12 in the afternoon instead of 4. It was a bright and sunny morning, and the homeroom teacher just entered with… an elementary student? Or is it a middle-school student..? The whole class was murmuring like bees in wasps' nest. What is a kid doing in a school for teenagers? Kuroko couldn't help but just stare at the newcomer. She kept on fidgeting and looking at the ground.

When the teacher was about to write her name on the board, the teacher stopped for a moment, then pondered on how her name was written in Japanese. The newcomer saw it coming, and thought of writing her name in ABC's instead. The whole class was trying to read as she wrote letter by letter. Ye…re…na… Zo..ruu…nah…hmm… It was too hard to read.

"Ahem." The teacher silenced the whole class. "May you kindly introduce yourself for us, Miss..?" The teacher awkwardly smiled, apparently a bit tongue-tied with pronouncing her student's name herself. The newcomer nodded, and opened her mouth to speak. "…." No words came out, or at least, no audible ones. "I-I'm sorry, but could you repeat that?" The teacher requested.

She straightened her posture and inhaled deeply. And with all her might, she spoke loudly as she can. "..Y-yelena Zolnervolk[1] (Ye-re-na-Zo-ru-na-vo-ku)… Nice to meet you..?" The whole class was silent, yet they were still staring intently at the newcomer as if she was a new type of specie. "Okay class, since this is her first time studying in a (japanese) co-ed school, I'd like you all to be nice to her and help her adjust." Everyone responded with a 'yes' but some are half-heartedly. "You can sit at the back part of the room, behind… Oh, where's Kagami-kun?"

A student in class raised his hand, "I heard that he sprained his ankle and that he had to take a few days off." The teacher sighed, "He always gets in these sorts of problems, doesn't he? Oh well, you may sit at the back." The teacher smiled. As Yelena walked towards the back part of the room, she spotted an empty seat at the side of the window. That looks like a nice spot. She grinned to herself in satisfaction.

She sat at the chair, but felt like something was odd. It was clearly uncomfortable, and to her dismay, someone was already occupying that chair.[2] "Excuse me, but I was here first." The bluenette spoke, his voice a bit muffled by her puffy hair. "…" Wait what? "…" "…" "G-GWAAAAAAH!" The newcomer screamed at the top of her lungs with a pitch so high and tiny, some of the eyeglasses in the room shattered.

She tumbled ungracefully on the floor and crawled shakily away from the bluenette. "W-w-who? W-what? H-h-ha?" She was pointing at the bluenette, who graciously stood up to offer his hand. "Tetsuya Kuroko, your classmate." If anything, the girl looked more terrified and crawled further away from him. "U-uwaaah! Uncle-!" She was hyperventilating, whether why was a mystery. Not wanting to terrify the girl more, Kuroko just stepped away from her, and let their other classmates help her up instead (majority were females). Scaring her to death was a good start. A really good start if you want to be friends with her, yeah.

The teacher took her to the clinic so she'd calm down there. When the teacher returned, she explained to the class that the newcomer had a phobia of people, or more specifically, of men. Apparently, she was home-schooled pretty much her whole life when she said that she didn't like going to regular schools anymore. That explains a lot. A whole lot. She must've been crazy.

When Yelena felt a lot better and was calmer now, she returned to the classroom, and this time, she sat at the only available seat left, which was the seat at Kuroko's right. Oh Damn, talk about embarrassing…

It was math class, and they were given a pop quiz. Sadly for Yelena, she forgot to carry any pen or pencils with her. She scavenged through her stuff to look for anything to write with; in her pockets, and zippers, and in notebooks. None. She was so desperate and perplexed that she looked like she just visited the cemetery. Folding her arms to act as her pillow, she silently pleads for a miracle. God, I need a miracle, please. That plea was short-lived as a pencil magically inserts itself in her hand. But,.. wait, where'd it come from..?

She looked around the room, and when she looked at her left, she saw the bluenette looking at the window, his hand holding up his chin. It seems that he just finished his test since his test paper was faced down. Must thank him …later. With only 25 minutes remaining and 50 questions still unanswered, Yelena had to answer fast. Thankfully for her, she managed to answer all 50 math problems. She normally doesn't pat herself at the back, but she couldn't help but feel so proud of herself, until her teacher called her. "You forgot to put your name, dearie."…That was a close one. Good thing the teacher reminded her.

Math class was the last subject for the day, and so most of them went home while others go to their own clubs. She was about to go home aswell, until she suddenly remembered the bluenette. His name was…Tetsuya-kun …right? She looked at his seat, he's not there. She looked at the whole classroom, not here either. "..I guess I'll just thank him on Monday." She grabbed her bag and walked through the corridor. People around her started whispering as she goes their way.

'…that's the transferee?'

'I thought she'd be prettier…'

'she doesn't look athletic though..'

'what is she, 12?'

'I bet all she could play is a plastic flute..! haha!'

'she's not sexy at all…'

Yelena isn't that good at understanding Japanese yet, but she could tell that they were talking about her, and so she walked faster. She didn't know where she was going, but anywhere was better than there. The girl looked around. It took her a moment to understand what she just got herself into. Yep, she's lost alright. She could use this time to look around, though. If all else fails, she could just ask someone for directions.

There was a sound that caught her attention. It was the sound of the basketball bouncing, and players running with their rubber shoes on the waxed floor. It sure does bring back memories, even if it weren't so great[3]. Yelena took a peek inside the gym, checking if there were any female players that she could play with. "..!?" The moment she looked inside, all life was drained from her face.

She slowly retreats back with her legs close to collapsing "I-it's a room filled w-with men… big and scary men… a-ahh…" then bumps into a person she least expects. "Is something the matter?" it was the bluenette that she kept looking for, wearing his jersey. For some reason, she was less afraid of him now (probably since he looked less intimidating than the ones inside). Yelena shook her head, and apologized for bumping into him. "..Ah!" With his pencil on her hand, she bowed her head. "T-thank you for lending me this!" He took it from her, and bowed as well. "You're welcome."

She was moving her feet to and fro as if she was playing with them. Kuroko turned to go inside the gym until she spoke. "So um..." He faced her again. "S-so… Sorry about.. a while ago…" Kuroko smiled. " It's okay, you didn't mean to bump into me—" Yelena stretched her arms in front of her and flailed it, "N-no! I meant this morning!" Her face was deep red, and barely kept her eyes open when she was talking to him. "I-I was just… I'I ….I'm sorry…" she bowed her head a bit in shame.

Kuroko was thinking of ways on what to do next. As he recalls, guys require delicacy when handling with women. And since he already knows that she has a phobia towards men, anything physical like 'patting her head' or 'giving her shoulder a comforting squeeze' or even a normal 'handshake' is no good.

"Wanna hang out tomorrow?"

[1] - Her name is Russian (I was actually going for french, or german, but it sounds cool, so i was like 'meh'.)
