God. Damn. MAN that took long enough, eh? I'm so glad I finally got this finished! I'm surprised how long this turned out! Anyway let me know what you think!
2 years later Amity Park had changed, but for this time for the better. Ghost attacks were at an all-time low, even though ghosts still showed up on a weekly basis. But while he thought back, Danny had trouble trying to remember the last time he actually got in a big ghost fight. It took him a while to accept the fact that Vlad's "People" were actually good at handling those pain in the ass ghosts. The city had mixed reactions to the persistent lack of "Inviso-Bill" appearance. Such a terrible name. I thought my parents were bad at coming up with original names! The half that didn't like him thought that he was gone for good. The half that liked him actually surprised Danny by creating a comic book series based off of him. While the series focused on him only being a ghost Danny still loved the comic series anyway. Vlad actually got every comic book signed by the author Butch Hartman.
Vlad. One of the biggest changes for both Danny and Amity Park. With Danny on his side as his political advisor, Vlad's general approval was up to 85% among the citizens. Plus Danny reached out and backed up any local businesses that needed just a small push to keep them going. He also did extensive research on every bill and question sent Vlad's way. It turned out that Danny had a real eye for politics. He could always tell who had good intentions and who was just looking to step on top of Vlad. Vlad enjoyed all the help his little badger gave him. It made all the mundane everyday political chores more tolerable.
As for Danny and Vlad as a couple Danny could easily say it was the best thing in his life. Vlad treated him better than anyone else had in his life! He even enjoyed the witty banter they were getting so good at. The sneaked kisses between meeting, the soft words spoken while spooning at midnight. Vlad was even teaching Danny some new recipes. Turns out cooking was quite romantic for the couple. As for the public eye there were rumors about the two having a long term relationship. Technus took care of that. They had every intention of making their relationship known after the up and coming election. They didn't want it to become Vlad's biggest headline.
Currently the two were laying on Vlad's- well their couch- watching the tail end of a Packers game. Vlad was enjoying the fact that the packers had won and Danny was trying to do the same but it was obvious his heart wasn't all in it. When they both calmed down and Vlad saw that Danny was off in space again he decided to speak up. "You have to go see them you know that right?"
Danny sighed already going over what happened the other day for the umpteenth time. Danny was going over a couple speeches Vlad and Danny had prepared for the next week. In his own world as usual. He was snapped out of it as he felt someone cover his eyes and yell "Guess who?" He was about to go into battle mode but he recognized the voice. "Jazz?!"
Jazz let go of Danny and wrapped him in a big hug. "Hey there little bro! It's weird to see you so grown up!"
"Yeah! It's nice to see you back in Amity Park! Is it just you or are mom and dad here too?"
"We're all here! Back home! Mom and Dad bought back the old house and everything! Who would've thought that someone wouldn't want to keep a house with a giant neon sign attached?"
Danny chuckled a little bit and gave her a noncommittal "yeah". That led to a thick awkward silence.
Jazz cleared her throat and spoke up again. "So… political advisor for Vlad Masters? How in the world did that happen?"
Danny looked away bashfully. "It's kind of a long story. Short version is that he helped me in a pinch and then offered me a job. Better than flipping burgers right?"
"Yeah but are you sure it's not some evil plot to… well I don't know take over the world or something?"
Danny felt a flush of anger fill him up but he was already good at hiding his emotions. He gave her whatever kind of smile he could muster as he answered her question. "Don't worry there's no evil plot I promise."
Jazz looked relieved but a bit skeptical. "Well either way you should come by and visit mom and dad! They already said they'd love to see you!"
"Sure I'll visit as soon as I can. Vlad likes to keep me busy."
"Alright well I'll see you soon little bro!"
Danny finally snapped out of it when he realized Vlad was staring at him expectantly. "Get out of my head fruitloop"
"You can talk your way out of any bad situation and into anyone's heart. But now that your family has showed up you revert back to a child." Vlad challenged.
Danny stuck his tongue out and blew a raspberry at him. Vlad was less than impressed and Danny decided to take it farther. He pushed Vlad down on the couch and sat on his chest. "What? You said I act like a child mind as well play the part right?" Danny smirked with victory. Vlad just laughed as he pushed Danny off of him and pinned him to the couch. "Did you forget that I'm still stronger than you?"
Danny still kept his smirk proudly. "Nope. Maybe I was hoping to be in this position." He eyed Vlad up and down. "I like how you look on top of me."
Vlad chuckled again but it was deep and husky. Just the right tone to get Danny's blood flowing. He slowly leaned into Danny and whispered into his ear "Don't change the subject."
Danny groaned again and slid out from underneath of Vlad. "I know, I know! It's been a long time since I've seen them but I can't just forget about how the left me! That the whole time they were on their road trip I was either working a terrible dead end job or lying in a puddle of my own ectoplasm! The only things I got from them for the last four years was just some postcards from whatever state they were in! I didn't even have a number to call them because they didn't stay in one place long enough!"
Vlad gently wrapped his hand around Danny's. "But at the same time they're still your family. And even if you don't want to be around them you can still go to them to get all your anger off of your chest. Either way you'll feel better in the end." Danny took in Vlad's advice as he laid his head on Vlad's shoulder. Vlad leaned his head into Danny's hair, inhaling his fruity shampoo. "I can join you if that will make you feel better."
"No I'd like to keep the amount of big surprises to zero. They still don't know that I'm half ghost. Let alone that I'm in a relationship with the only other half ghost in existence. The same half ghost who just happens to be their old college buddy. The same college buddy who has hardly aged since he turned 35." Vlad could tell that Danny was working himself up in circles. He ran his thumb over Danny's hand in comforting circles. That small touch did the trick as Danny continued. "It was hard enough for me to process. I know that my parents won't take it well. Who knows what kind of disasters they've invented while travelling." The couple shared a collective shudder.
"Well creative destruction behind, I do wish you the best of luck tonight."
Danny looked up at Vlad with confusion on his face. "What? Tonight? Is there a meeting I wasn't aware of?"
"Well…" There was a firm knock at their front door. "Technically. Now run to the guest room there's a suit in there for you. I'll greet them then leave you alone." Vlad was already walking down the hallway to the front door before Danny could even react. He figured that there was no easy way of getting out of this situation so he decided to accept his defeat and the suit. He was halfway through putting it on when he heard a deafening "VLADDIE!" Danny chuckled. He really hates that nickname.
Danny snuck passed Vlad as he gave his family a tour of their house into the kitchen. Danny figured the easiest way to cut the ice was with a nice meal. Halfway through cooking Vlad returned with his family. Maddie and Jack hadn't changed at all but they were so shocked that he wrapped him a big hug while screaming "DANNY!" Danny wheezed out a hi as he saw a glimpse of Vlad leaving. Vlad blew him a kiss as he walked out the door. That only made Danny curse him under his breath more. "Mom Dad careful I've got hot chicken and I don't want to burn you!"
Jack took a big whiff of the meal Danny was cooking. "Mmmmm that smell delicious! I didn't know you could cook son!"
"I'm just glad this meal won't try to attack us." Jazz said while she giggled.
"Well mom helped me learn the basics. I've just picked up a few tricks over the years. Why don't you guys go sit down? This will be ready in a few seconds and I'll bring it out."
"Ok dear just let me know if you need any help!" Maddie gave her son a kiss on the forehead and went with the rest of the family into the dining room.
The food came out amazing and the reunited family sat together enjoying it in silence for the first few minutes. When they were close enough to being full to speak they each gave Danny their compliment. That definitely made Danny feel better.
Maddie was the first to get the ball rolling. "So how have you been?"
Danny looked at Jazz with a questioning look. Jazz just smiled and shook her head. She must've not told them anything. "Well for a while I was living on my own working a crappy dead end job. Then Vlad came along and helped me out during a rough patch. He even offered me a job as his political advisor. That was two years ago and I've been helping him out since. I've made a bit of a name for myself politics wise but I really like working with Vlad. I think I'm going to stick with him for a few more years before I decide to do anything else."
"Wow congratulations honey! I never would've thought you would get into something like politics!" Maddie said with a smile. Jack nudged Danny a bit with his elbow. "I guess you're rubbing elbows with all sorts of big wigs!"
Danny laughed at their responses. "I actually met with my old principal last year. She was shocked when she finally remembered who I was. Guess she wasn't expecting me to work for the mayor when I graduated."
The thought got jazz laughing. "I would've loved to see the look on her face. She may have good intentions but she can be a bit judgmental of the students there."
Danny rolled his eyes. He knew exactly what Jazz was talking about. "Yeah but we worked together to work more money into the school's budget. And it didn't just go towards the football team either it spread to the whole school. They just rebuilt the computer labs over the summer. But anyway enough about all that what have you guys been up to?"
"Oh it's been a blast son! We've encountered all sorts of ghosts and made so many new inventions! Why just the other day your mom put the finishing touches on…"
Danny tried hard to listen to their stories, honestly. But he couldn't help feeling mad. Thinking back to all the times that when he needed them the most . They were out there trying to hunt ghosts and failing. Jazz slowly scooted over to her younger brother. "Everything ok lil bro?"
Jack and Maddie were so wrapped up in their own stories that they weren't even paying attention to their two kids. "Of course not! The whole time you guys were out on a road trip I was by myself!"
Jazz looked at Danny in surprise. "Wait what about Tucker and Sam?"
"Long gone. They left few months after you guys. So I was by myself juggling school, ghosts, and a job. I didn't go to college; I didn't want them to laugh at my face when they saw my grades. I picked up the first crappy job I could find. Plus all the ghosts going through this city that you guys helped me take out I had to do by myself! If it weren't for Vlad…" He looked her dead in the eyes. Anger and sadness evident on every inch of his face. "If it weren't for Vlad I would be dead right now."
Jazz was speechless. It looked like she was holding back tears. At that point Danny felt himself deflate. He realized that no matter how mad his parents made him Jazz had always tried her best to be there for him. She gave Danny a hug and he could feel a couple wet spots on his shoulder. "I don't know exactly what you're talking about and I'm not sure if I want to. I just want you to know that I'm sorry and I promise I won't leave you alone again." Danny squeezed her tight. "Apology accepted."
As they let go they looked over at their parents who were still mid conversation. Jazz was able to pick up on what they were talking about and decided to talk over them with Danny. "Well I have some good news. I got a job here in Amity Park."
Danny perked up at that. "Really? Doing what?"
"I'm going to be a psychologist. Not that that's a big shocker. I would've tried to come back a couple years ago but I hit a little snag. I was using mom and dad's road trip as research for my final thesis for my masters in para-psychology. I got it with no trouble. But when I went to go find work it turns out that even in a city like this my degree didn't really mean anything to potential employers. It was hard to see all my hard work be completely dismissed so easily." Jazz still seemed hurt by it and it made Danny feel terrible for blowing up on her. "So I used the classes I took for my first degree to scramble and get a bachelor's degree in psychology as fast as possible."
"Jazz I'm so sorry that happened and that I blew up at you before knowing that it's not fair to you." Jazz smiled and wrapped her arm around Danny's neck. "Don't worry about it! Like you said you didn't know! And besides all that matters is that I have a job here!"
"That's amazing news! And I'll talk to Vlad about your college degree situation. With our big ghost presence here you think they'd be more open to ghost related studies."
"Hey don't worry about it! But it's nice to hear about you being passionate about what you do."
Danny just smiled at his sister and nodded. Amazingly their parents were still mid conversation. Danny started to focus on what they were saying but Jazz cut them off again. "Danny I need to tell you something before you actually pay attention to their rambling. Mom and Dad… while I was with them I was pretty much their conscience. I made sure they didn't do anything cruel or over the top with the ghosts they caught and fought. But while I was gone they… they took things too far. Please remember that no matter what they did that they're still our parents."
Danny didn't understand what Jazz was talking about until he started to focus on what his parents were saying. Apparently while jazz was gone they caught countless ghosts and ran all sorts of experiments on them. From tissue samples to weapon experiments to dismemberment. The term "molecule by molecule" was used enough times to make Danny feel ill. He started to shake in his seat. Jazz saw this and wrapped him in a warm hug whispering, "Don't worry Danny they would never do any of those things to you I pro-"
"You actually did all those things?"
Maddie and Jack stopped when they heard then tension and anger in their son's voice. "Well of course son! You should've seen the things we learned!" Jack spoke gleefully.
Danny sat up accidentally knocking Jazz off of him. "No ghost deserves to be dissected 'molecule by molecule'. You had no right to hurt those ghost like that. You should leave. NOW!" Maddie, Jack, and Jazz were all silent because Danny's eyes were glowing green. His voice was starting to sound like it was raw power coming out of his mouth. "And if you ever come back I will hunt you down and you will see what it's like to be prey." With a snap of his fingers he teleported the three outside of his house.
Before the shock could wear off, Danny stuck his head out his front door. "Oh and if you're wondering how I could do that, ask Jazz. She knows how." He then ended the conversation with the slam of his door.
As soon as his family was out of sight Danny flew out of the house at breakneck speed. The last thing he wanted to do was take his anger out on the house that Vlad and he shared. He flew deep into the woods to where he was sure he was far enough away from society. He let his anger build for a few seconds until he let out his ghostly wail. He wailed as his legs gave out. He wailed as the trees became demolished around him. He wailed as he bawled his eyes out. After some time his wail faltered out and he collapsed to the ground in a heap. He wanted to let out all his emotions through that wail but it seemed that he just didn't have any more energy to do so. He looked around and saw that all the trees in a half mile radius were at least knocked over.
Unfortunately he didn't have an escape plan. He couldn't even get up let alone fly home. He pulled out his phone and dialed the one number he knew by heart. Vlad answered pretty . "Good even my little badger. I hope the night went well."
"Please come get me." Danny's voice was nothing but croaks.
"What? Daniel is everything ok?"
"Look in the woods. You'll see me."
"I'm on my way just stay on the phone please love!" Danny tried to continue talking but his voice was completely gone. His consciousness soon followed.
The first thing Danny notices was heat enveloping him. It was so relaxing that Danny almost fell back asleep. "Daniel wake up please." Danny's eyes shot open. The heat was Vlad wrapping himself around Danny. He smiled and leaned into Vlad's warm body. He tried to speak but all that came out croaks and the memories of last night came back to him. He groaned and buried his face into the nearest pillow. "Daniel Please tell me what's wrong. Your family is nowhere to be seen and that forest I found you in was flattened. What in the world did they say?"
Danny just looked at their clasped hands and did his best to explain what happened last night. He eventually got to the point about the experiments. "After I found out I freaked and teleported them out of here. And I told Jazz to tell them about me. How can I face them again? They'll just try to dissect me! I don't want to be torn apart molecule by molecule!" Danny was shaking by the end of his rant and his voice was nothing more than quiet squeaks. Vlad rolled him over and held Danny's head in his hands. When they're foreheads touched. "Daniel stop. I won't let anyone touch you without my permission you know that." Danny looked into Vlad's eyes and saw that challenging look in his eyes and he couldn't help but to chuckle. "I feel weird saying this but I love your possessive side."
"I love you too my little badger." Just as Danny was about to roll his eyes at the nickname he was caught in a tender kiss. But he had no problem going with it.
After, Danny tried to speak again but all he could do was coughs. Vlad handed him a glass of water which he swallowed in 3 gulps. When he felt comfortable again with his voice he continued. "I'm still mad. And scared. My parents are monsters at this point. And they know what I am! Who knows what they'll do!"
"Just stay by my side and I'll keep you safe. And if you need someone to spar with you know how much I like a challenge." Danny laughed a little but it shifted to sobs. At this point Vlad was about as much as a wreck as Danny was. It was killing him to see his little badger reduced to this state. Even though Danny was lying on top of him and Vlad had his arms curled around his chest he still felt at a loss of what to do. Vlad whispered sweet words into Danny's ear as he wiped away his tears. He stopped when he heard Danny whisper something himself. "Please speak up Daniel I couldn't catch that."
"Please don't leave me."
Vlad just looked at Danny in shock. He couldn't even imagine leaving Daniel. The thought didn't even cross his mind. "What in the world are you talking about? What would cause you to even think that?"
Danny averted his upward gaze at Vlad. "Vlad… It's hard to say this but I need you. I've spent so many years relying on only myself that the thought of you leaving me makes me feel broken. Please don't go." He rolled over and pressed his face into Vlad's chest and continued. "I need you. And I don't want my parents to scare you away or how weak I can be or whatever ridiculous reason I can think of. I know I sound ridiculous but I need to know you won't leave like everyone else did."
Suddenly, Danny was jerked up and kissed a bit messily. "Stop Daniel. The thought hasn't even crossed my mind. Please don't ever speak that way again." Danny felt a couple drops fall on his hands and he realized that Vlad was crying too. "Don't you dare think for a moment I would ever abandon you. I need you as much as you need me. Don't ever question yourself or our relationship like that. You're too good for that. Now" Vlad grabbed a small handkerchief from their nightstand and cleaned both their faces off. "Let's get some sleep. Together. Ok?" Danny nodded and curled up next to Vlad under their silk blankets. As they both wound down Danny let out a soft chuckle. Vlad let out a small questioning noise and Danny explained. "We're a bit of a mess sometimes, I hope you know that." Vlad chuckled, shushed him and pinched his butt which caused Danny to yelp. Danny turned around to smack Vlad, but he couldn't. The older man wrapped his arms and legs around his body so Danny couldn't move from that spot. "You fall for that every time." Vlad said with a smirk.
Danny chuckled again. "And I hope I always will."
After a week of the usual politics, Danny hadn't heard anything from his parents or even Jazz. He really hoped they had just dropped off the face of the earth again but he wouldn't be that lucky. Vlad would catch Danny with a worried look on his face as he searched the room quietly. Vlad did his best to set a couple minutes aside to calm down his boyfriend after moments like that. It made Danny feel better but the thoughts were still there and it continued to worry him every day.
The mayoral elections were coming up again. Vlad was giving another promotional speech in front of the capital building when he just stopped talking. He felt a small tap on his right shoulder and a quiet whisper in his ear. Sensing danger he tackled Danny to the ground. Shortly after an ectoblast to take out a window right behind where Danny was standing. Danny's eyes were wide as he tried to process the situation. Vlad was already standing in front of him with a small ecto-pistol in his hand. It seemed to be glowing a soft pink unlike the usual green. Vlad looked back at Danny and gave him a silent command: Stay Down. Danny nodded and Vlad smiled while he whispered I Love You. Vlad's voice was tense and authoritative as he calmly said, "Show yourself before you lose your chance to explain yourself."
Maddie and Jack work their way through the crowd to the first steps of the capitol building in full battle mode. Which mostly meant just guns on guns on guns. Unfortunately they were all aimed at Danny. Jack spoke up first. "Out of the way Vladdie! That thing isn't our son! He's been pretending to be for who knows how long!"
Vlad looked genuinely shocked. "Are you daft?! What on earth are you talking about?!"
Maddie picked up where Jack stopped. "That isn't our son! That's a ghost that has made himself look like Danny for what could have been years! Danny could be dead for all we know!" Vlad noticed that Jack's eyes were red and bloodshot and the area around Maddie's goggles was moist. Vlad realized that they truly believed what they were saying and that their son was dead. Vlad would've scoffed at the ridiculous situation if guns weren't involved. Vlad spoke up before Maddie could make a bigger fool of herself. "You must be joking Maddie. You really believe that ridiculous story? Didn't Jasmine explain the situation herself?'
Jack's loud voice covered up every other noise. "A half-ghost?! That's the dumbest thing I've heard! That's impossible! And I'll prove it!" As he aimed his bazooka at Danny, Vlad's pistol powered up and easily shot the bazooka out of Jack's hand in a pink flash. As Jack was massaging the pain away from his hand Maddie aimed her dual pistols at Vlad. "Please don't make me hurt you Vlad. You don't have to be involved. Just step aside."
Vlad smirked. "Not a chance, my dear." Malice dripped from his voice as he went to shoot the pistols out of Maddie's hands. But before the pink ecto-bullets reached her she dodged and threw a small ball at Vlad. The ball expanded into what looked like a new jack-o-nine-tails. Just as it was about to reach Vlad, a bō like staff caught the jack-o-nine-tails and deflected it away. Several looks of shock watched as Jazz, Sam and Tucker stood between Vlad and Danny and Maddie and Jack. Tucker was holding the staff in his hands and it looked natural to him. Like an extension of his being. Sam was using her own bazooka but it was glowing purple and it looked custom made. Jazz was holding a pair of nunchucks in front of her with the chain connecting them glowing and sparking. They all looked battle ready and Danny felt pretty proud to know them.
Tucker was the first to speak up. "Don't even try that again Mrs. Fenton." His voice was a lot deeper but his usual friendly tone was completely gone. Maddie lowered her weapons for a second but recovered from her shock and raised them again. "Where did you two come from? And Jazz get away from there! You'll get hurt!"
Jazz looked a bit overwhelmed by the situation but stood strong with the others. As she went to speak Sam put a hand on her shoulder and offered her a smile. Jazz smiled back and Sam spoke for her. "She tried to explain to you guys the truth. If you don't want to accept it then she's going to continue to do what's right: save her baby brother." Sam's voice held as much strength as Tucker's and her body matched her tone. The 3 were just as battle ready as Maddie and Jack.
Maddie looked truly confused. "Why are you guys defending an imposter! That's not your friend." She looked at Tucker and Sam. "Or your brother." She turned to face Jazz. "And I'm not sure if I want to know what kind of relationship you have with that imposter Vlad." There was an awkward and tense silence that followed. Sam and Tucker looked at each other questioningly. Jazz spoke up and brought the focus back to the fight. "You guys don't deserve to know what's happening in Danny's life. Now leave and never touch Danny again!"
Maddie armed her pistols and Jack got his bazooka back and aimed it at the 3. Seeing that ecto-bullets were about to fly Sam turned to Vlad. "Get him out of here. Please." There was no anger or hatred in her voice and it left Vlad speechless. He nodded, picked up Danny, threw him over his shoulder, and raced inside the capitol building. As he did that Tucker yelled, "Everyone run! Get to safety!" Just like that the trance was broken and the crowd dispersed in a cacophony of sounds. When most of the crowd was gone Tucker and Jazz charged. Jack and Maddie didn't miss a beat and fired. Unfortunately Sam was faster and fired her own ecto-blasts. The bullets met mid-air and dissipated. When Tucker and Jazz finally reached Jack he equipped the Fenton ghost peeler and his body was encased in a thick armor. That didn't stop the other two as they started to wail on the strong armor. Jazz's and Tucker's weapons seemed to be extensions of their own bodies. They made dent after dent in the armor while easily dodging Jack's ecto-bullets, kicks, and punches.
On the other side Sam and Maddie were exchanging and dodging ecto-bullets. They seemed evenly matched between dodging, aiming, and firing. After a bit of time, Sam's bazooka gave off two quick alarms and Sam smirked. "Perfect." She fired a few bullets into the sky. Maddie looked at the other woman confused until the bullets curved and headed straight for her. She dodged all but the first one which left a big scorch mark on her shoulder. "My ecto-bullets can lock onto any biological signature and home in on them. No matter where I fire! If you want we can end this peacefully! Just give up!" Maddie's response was several ecto-shots to the pillar Sam was hiding behind. A big chunk of rubble collided with her head. As she winced and wiped some blood from her head she screamed "You'll pay for what you did!"
Inside the capitol building , Vlad and Danny were waiting in Vlad's office located in the far back of the building. Vlad was holding Danny down to keep him from joining the fight. "Stop Daniel! Nothing good will come from you joining in their battle!"
"But they NEED me! I won't let my parents hurt them!" Danny gave another rough jerk but he was still held firm by Vlad. "From what we've both seen they can handle themselves. Plus we can't have you reveal who you are to the public. Not yet anyway."
"I DON'T CARE! This is my problem and they don't need to get involved! They shou-" Danny was silenced by a firm kiss. Vlad spoke up after so he couldn't let Danny continue. "Let your friends make up for the mistakes they made. They came because they care about you after all. And I have a feeling Jazz had a big role to play in them coming back. Let them show how much you mean to them. If things get out of hand we will help them. Until then sit." Vlad made his little badger sit on his lap, facing him. "And breathe. Talk to me. Let all your worry out and it'll be over before you know it." Danny rested his head on Vlad's chest. He hated it when Vlad was right.
Back to Sam and Maddie. While Sam had recovered and fired more shots at Maddie, the older woman snuck up and deflected the bazooka out of her hand. Sam acted quick though and kicked her bazooka into Maddie's pistols. Which landed all the weapons into a heap on the steps away from them. After they recovered from their lost weapons fists and feet started to fly. They were still evenly matched, deflecting the hardest blows and brushing off the softer ones. It seemed like they could continue for hours.
Down the steps with Jack, Jazz, and Tucker. The two younger adults were making decent leeway with Jack's armor. They were wearing down and Jack was starting to get some strong blows to stick, too. Tucker was limping slightly and Jazz had a burn on her face and blood rushing down her arm. As Jack went to kick Tucker, Jazz saw it as an opportunity to land another blow on Jack's back armor. Unfortunately Jack saw this coming and landing a strong roundhouse to Jazz's chest. It was so powerful that she was sent flying up the stairs. The sudden blow made everyone freeze as Jazz laid on the stairs, not moving. Maddie's wavering voice came out weakly. "J-j-jazz? Honey"
Jazz's eyes flew open as she spoke. "I'm sorry mom and dad." She got up and tossed Sam's bazooka back to her. Maddie suddenly realized that Jazz landed on their weapons! But it was too late: Sam sent an ecto-bullet into Maddie's chest. Maddie was sent flying to the ground and Sam raced to where she laid. Before she had a chance to get up, Sam hit her with her bazooka, knocking her out cold. Sam's face showed no remorse as she did it, too. "That was for the box ghost."
At the same time Jazz took one pistol and tossed the other one to Tucker. They unloaded their clips until all Jack's armor was gone. Tucker dropped the pistol and connected his staff with Jack's head sending him to the ground and knocking him out, too. "Jazz may be sorry but we're not. That was for Dora."
Several hours later, Jack and Maddie were arrested for several charges. Assault, one for attempted murder, and they even found out about them leaving Danny alone when he was 17. That added up to reckless endangerment of a minor. Not that all that mattered. after most of the fiasco was taped and showed on live television there was no question that the two were going to end up in padded cells.
After being questioned by the police, the 5 adults met up at a diner with hugs, smiles and an all-around good mood. Sam and Tucker tackled Danny to the ground just like old times. They started to apologize at the same time, their voices overlapping, but Danny stopped them. "After what you guys did today, you're forgiven. I promise!"
Eventually all the catching up led to questions about Danny and Vlad's relationship. When Danny was reduced to blushing and muttering half sentences, Vlad chuckled and leaned over to kiss him. Tucker and Sam shared looks of shock but when they saw Jazz's stern warning look she gave them they smiled. When Danny and Vlad gave Jazz some questioning looks, she answered easily, "You guys aren't as subtle as you think you are." She focused on Vlad. "You gave up control of your business and became a shareholder so you could focus on being mayor here 2 years ago. And you haven't aged since the last time I saw you almost 3 years ago. And I'm surprised no one else has noticed the looks you and Danny share constantly." She turned to Danny. "What was I supposed to think when you so defensive when I brought up Vlad. Not to mention how you blush just a little bit when his name is brought up. Also the guest bedroom at Vlad's house that you 'live in' had dust collecting in it." She gave a wide smile. "You guys forget how smart I am!"
Vlad and Danny looked at each other for a minute and started to laugh. "You're right sis! And that's why I love you and your know it all attitude. You make it so I don't have to make any more awkward confessions" Danny said between laughs. Jazz ended up joining them soon followed by Sam and Tucker. And that seemed to be the end of that conversation.
Several months later things seemed to go back to their natural flow. Jazz started her job and became the most well-known psychologist in their town. Tucker took over Fenton works and started mass producing friendlier ghost inventions. Like a two-way communicator between curious humans and ghosts who just wanted to talk. Needless to say he made a fortune. Turns out Sam had started her own non-profit organization. She used her resources to build and start another factory in Amity Park. Her organization boosted the usual recycling percentage of 34.5 up to almost 60%. Between her completely green factory and her rising customer basis she was easily becoming a well-known organization. Plus with her own budding romance with a famous techno-geek it was easy to see how happy she was.
Jack and Maddie had been processed through the court system and assigned their own padded cells. They technically had life sentences but if they showed significant improvement they would have a chance for parole. Danny refused to visit them but Jazz stopped by every now and then. She told Danny that they weren't completely back to normal but slow progress was being made. Her, Sam and Tucker refused to tell Danny what they had done specifically and to what ghosts and after a while of seeing the grim looks come over the 3 he stopped asking.
As for Danny and Vlad, Vlad easily got re-elected. He wrote off everything that Jack and Maddie had said as lunacy and ravings of two unwell mental patients. Which meant Danny's secret was safe. As for their relationship the town found out pretty soon. The day after gay marriage was legalized in Amity Park, they were the first couple to be legally married. Several people seemed to think Vlad was using his power for personal gain. That changed when many, many other couples came in for marriage licenses the town realized that it was for the best. Danny and Vlad couldn't have been happier. And they were going to stay that way, for as long as possible.
So that was the first fight scene I've ever written. I think for how basic it was it came out pretty well. Also the scene when Danny broke down hit a little close to home. It was wicked weird to say the least. Also that small shoulder tap and whisper was a shout-out to Regardless I hope you enjoyed this and please let me know what you thought of it!
