"Oh, there you are Dean." Said Emily Thomas as the two boys entered the home. "I see you brought Harry; have you told him about the letter?"

"Yes, mum," said Dean as he and Harry sat down with her in the living room. "Harry got the same one, but his bloody relatives wouldn't let him have it."

"Dean! Language!" admonished his mother, but she looked softly at Harry. "I'm sorry about that, dear. Dean, why don't you let Harry read yours out, as he wasn't allowed his."

Emily obviously knew how much something as simple as a letter would mean to Harry. He smiled gratefully.

"Sure!" said Dean brightly, handing Harry the letter. The black haired boy opened the thick envelope, and began to read.

::LiAm::

"Luna~? What is it?" demanded Liam as his friend dragged him through theLondonstreets and up to the small flat where her and her father, Xenophilius, lived. They used to live inDevon, out in the country, but when Luna's mother died, Xenophilius decided to stay away from the house for a few years; the pain was still fresh.

Luna ignored him, letting them into the house and stopping in her father's studio.

"Daddy?" she asked. Xenophilius spun around, his white-blond hair flying and making him look even crazier than usual.

"Yes, Luna, dear?" he said, smiling.

"Liam got his letter." Luna said simply.

Xenophiles' eyes went wide. He looked at the red-haired boy. "Did you, now?"

"Well…I got a letter…but I don't know who it's from…" Liam said nervously. Luna led him to a sofa in the corner.

"Read it." She suggested, her voice slightly less far-away than usual.

"Alright…" Liam said apprehensively, breaking the seal.

::WeSlEy::

"Yes, as a matter of fact I have." Wesley said, looking at Ron suspiciously. "Why?"

"Er – my mum can explain it better." Ron said, and looked over his shoulder. From the side of the house, Mrs. Weasley appeared. She was a plump woman, and Wesley had only seen her a handful of times, having never been able to go to his friend's house for some reason.

"What's going on here?" asked a voice behind him, and they all turned to see Verona Witte standing in the hall.

"I can explain everything, Ms. Witte, Wesley. If Ron and I could come in?"Veronanodded silently, stepping back to allow the Weasleys' inside.

They all sat around the table, and Mrs. Weasley spoke first.

"Wesley, dear, I believe you received a letter today?" Wesley nodded, wondering at all the fuss over a simple letter. "Would you read it aloud now, please?"

"Sure," said Wesley, and cleared his throat, opening the envelope.

::BrIeLlE::

"Mā ma, do you know what 'Hogwarts' is?" asked Su as they entered her living room. The Li home was right next door to the Waverly home, luckily, and the two girls sat down opposite her mother, Ah-Lam Li.

She gasped at her daughter's question. "How – how did you know –?" then she saw the letter in Brielle's hand. Her eyes opened wide. "I knew it." She whispered.

"Knew what?" asked Bri.

Mrs. Li seemed to shake herself. "Yes…well…Er, Su, dear, you have a letter as well." She handed the pink-haired girl a thick envelope. It appeared to be from the same place, as it was just as yellowish and thick.

"Why don't you read yours, Bri?" Ah-Lam suggested.

"Alright," Bri agreed, and picked up her letter.

::WeNdY::

"Nev, what's going on?" demanded Wendy, crossing her arms angrily.

"Why so much fuss over a letter?" Lizzie wondered as she hurried to keep up with the children.

"You'll see…" assured Neville nervously as they walked up the path.

"Gran?" he called inside. "I brought them!"

"What is going on?" demanded Wendy again, frustrated.

Neville's grandmother appeared in the doorway and led them inside, not answering. She managed to look grave and excited at the same time, and Wendy was about to scream from frustration.

"Wendy, if you could read that letter please." Augusta Longbottom finally said, after sitting them down and pouring tea.

"Fine," said Wendy testily, opening the envelope.

::ChArLeY::

"No, I didn't read it…" said Charley, slightly stunned by her best friend's strange reaction. "Why? What does it say?"

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you..." Hermione mumbled, collapsing on the living room couch. "Read yours and see for yourself."

"Okay…" said the lighter-haired girl, unfolding the letter.

:HaRrY::

"Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry," Harry read. Wizardry? He wondered. He glanced at Dean's stunned face, then continued.

::LiAm::

"Headmaster, Albus Dumbledore. Order of Merlin, First Class,"Liam read next, gaping at his own words. What did this mean?

::WeSlEy::

"Grand Sorc., Chf. Warlock, Supreme Mugwump, International Confed. of Wizards." Wesley read. He stared in shock at his mother – who was just as surprised as he – before pushing past it and continuing. "Dear Mr. Potter,"
::BrIeLlE::

"We are please to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry." Bri gasped as she took it in, and Su looked shocked as well. Mrs. Li, however, didn't. Brielle continued.

::WeNdY::

"Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment." Wendy was in shock. Lizzie was frozen in the middle of a sip of tea, but Neville and Augusta looked unsurprised. The older woman motioned for her to continue. "Term begins on September 1."

::ChArLeY::

"We await your owl by no later than July 31." Read Charley, glancing at Hermione in disbelief. "Yours sincerely, Minerva McGonagall, Deputy Headmistress."

::HaRrY::

Harry stared in shock at the letter, then looked up at Emily and Dean. They had similar expressions on their faces.

"Witchcraft? Wizardry?" wondered Emily. Harry handed her the letter, and she looked it over. "It doesn't seem like a joke…" she murmured, a line appearing between her eyebrows.

"Owl?" wondered Dean. "What – I mean –"

But there was a knock at the door. A rather loud knock. In fact, the house shook slightly.

Harry, Dean, and Emily looked at each other in confusion, then Emily rose to answer it.

::LiAm::

"Luna? What does this mean?" Liam finally asked, looking at his blond friend.

"You're a wizard, Liam," she said, smiling. "It means you can do magic. I always suspected you were…the Niverglobbins never were interested in you, and they always go for Muggles…"

Now, Luna usually said strange things, but this took the cake.

"Wizard? Niverglobbins? Muggles?" gasped Liam. "What are you talking ab–"

Then the fireplace flashed green flames.

Liam gasped, shocked, as a figure rose out…

::WeSlEy::

"What – I mean…" Wesley stuttered, looking at Ron and his mother. Finally, he blurted out, "This isn't possible! There's no such thing!"

In response, Mrs. Weasley pulled a stick out of her sleeve, pointed it at the tiny sink, and flicked it.

Veronaand Wesley both gasped as the dishes began to wash themselves.

And then there was a loud knock at the door.

::BrIeLlE::

"Mā ma? Did you know about this?" asked Li when Bri finished reading.

Ah-Lam smiled grimly. "Yes, Su, Qīnài de, I did. I – I am I witch also."

"You are?" chorused both girls in unison, shocked.

"Yes," she answered, shifting slightly on her seat before smiling slightly. "I went to Hogwarts in my day as well."

"But – but witches aren't real!" cried Li. Bri simply sat there, confused.

In response, Ah-Lam walked over to the side table, pulled a stick out of her purse, and waved it at the fireplace.

Bri and Li screamed as flames erupted instantaneously from it.

Ah-Lam grinned, but before she could speak, there was a knock at the door.

::WeNdY::

"Augusta? What in the devil is this about?" demanded Lizzie, looking at the other woman.

"It's the truth, Eliza," she promised, using her nickname for Lizzie. "Neville and I are both magical too. Neville received his letter this morning as well."

Wendy looked at Neville, hurt, and Neville blushed.

"Why didn't you tell me,Nev?" she asked.

"Gran made me promise not to…" he mumbled, looking guilty.

"I'm sorry, Wendy, dear, but it was necessary."Augustapromised, and Wendy smiled slightly, not wanting to be mad at either of them.

Then the fireplace flared to life, and Lizzie and Wendy were shocked to see green flames and – was that a person?

::ChArLeY::

"Wow," Charley said as she finished reading. She looked at the bushy-haired girl in disbelief.

"That's what I thought," said Hermione. "Do you think it's real?"

"Well, who would go to that much trouble for a book?" wondered Charley. "And it looks real…look at the supply list."

Hermione and Charley both flipped to the next pages.
