Elements: Redemption
Chapter 2: The one they fear
When the light cleared, I felt very groggy. I tried moving my hands, but I noticed that they were bound. Wait, hands? Bound?
Oh no. I think I'm in Skyrim again.
I had visited Skyrim several times throughout my adventures, solving the problems of the citizens, learning the magical dragon language and using its power.
"Ah, I see you're awake now." Another prisoner said to me.
Here we go again, I thought.
1 lengthy quest later…
Ok, I thought, let's see here. I had reacquired Dawnbreaker, a legendary blade imbued with the power of the sun. I had reforged Duskmender, its lunar counterpart.
As I wandered aimlessly in the plain outside Whiterun, a light breeze began to blow. But something peculiar happened. The breeze soon became a strong gust, and the wind whispered a tune to me.
The Song of Storms.
I knew immediately what did this… or, more accurately, who.
Aerostorm was paying me a visit. The kindly cloud spirit had assisted me several times in the past… or is it the future now? Wait—what if—huh? How about this: to avoid confusion, let's just call it the future-past.
"Aero! Boy is it good to see a familiar face around here!" I said excitedly. Aero simply looked at me blankly.
He took a look around us, and his eyes widened in revelation.
"I see you cast the spell." Aero observed.
"Yes, I did. There was no other way around it… I undid everything." I said, hanging my head low. "Meeting Fluttershy, Glasswing's birth, all of it is gone. But if I can find a way to get back to Equestria, I can redo it." I said, looking back up at him.
"Sil, I am very proud of you for making the right decision. And that's actually why I'm here. I have a gift for you." He reached into his pouch and pulled out a dark brown, round object and tossed it to me.
I caught it and upon closer inspection, saw that it was an ocarina. It was dark brown and had a glowing triangular emerald embedded into the mouthpiece.
"It's a special ocarina that I crafted by myself." Aero explained. "With it, you can play the songs that transported you to other dimensions all those years before—including Equestria."
"Really? Oh, thank you, Aero! I don't know how I can repay you!" I beamed.
"You don't need to. I understand how much Fluttershy and Glass meant to you. Now go! Take back what you lost!" Aero shouted triumphantly.
I played the melody that I played so many times before, and the portal to Equestria quickly opened.
I eagerly prepared myself to leap through, but Aero interrupted me.
"Sil, I have one more thing to say. The clouds told me to give you a message." I turned around to listen to what he had to say. In my experience, when the clouds have something to say, it's pretty damn important. And when Aero speaks for the clouds, it reminds me of Princess Luna.
"LET THE WIND CARRY THE HUMBLE SHIP, AND A SPARK SHALL MEND THE LONG-BROKEN BLADE." Aero shouted in his Cloud Voice.
"Wow, what does it mean?" I asked.
"They say that is for them to know and for you to find out." Aero ordered.
"Okay, then. I'll see you, Aero."
As I leapt through the portal and felt myself shift into my pony form, I heard the clouds intone: "TREAD CAREFULLY, SIL MARIL! YOU SHALL SOON KNOW PEACE!"
End chapter 2
Ooooh, what do you think the riddle means? Sil's name is a Tolkien reference, referencing the Silmarils, ancient Elven artifacts. Don't worry; the story will stay in Equestria…mostly.
Good night, everypony.
