Timeskip [Winter is now 6 and Danielle is 17]

Danielle's PoV

I straighten my tie and I roll up my sleeves as I pull my waistcoat on and my door bursts open. I look in the mirror at my sister and I ask, "Yes, Winter? Did you need something?" Winter grins and asks, "Are we training today?" I turn around and I walk over to my sister and I say, "Unfortunately not, dear sister. You remember what today is, right?" Winter's smile fades and she nods and mutters, "Yes. Do you have to go?"

I sigh and I say, "No but becoming a huntress is what I want to do. To get the best out of life, you have to make sacrifices but before making those sacrifices, you have to be sure that you want to change what you know for something new. I have had 8 years to think about this and it is what I want. I will come home immediately if you need me, Winter so don't hesitate to call me. Whether it be morning, noon or night, I will answer" Winter nods with a smile and I hear, "Ma'am. Your bulkhead is waiting"

I nod, and I walk over to the bed and I say, "I have something for you, Winter but you mustn't show Father. Understand?" Winter nods and I pull out a case with Winter Schnee carved into the top in cursive writing. I place the box on the bed, and I motion for her to open it.

Winter tentatively walks over to the bed and pops open the latches on the box. She opens the case and gasps when she sees the sword inside. I smile and I ask, "Do you like it?" Winter pulls it out and answers, "I love it! Thank you!" She turns to me and makes a move to hug me with the sword still in her hands. I stop her and I say, "Be careful! This isn't a toy" Winter places the sword down and then she jumps into my arms.

I smile and I say, "I'm going to miss you, sister" Winter hugs me tighter and mutters, "I'm going to miss you too" I place her down and I rest my sword case under my arm, and I ruffle Winter's hair and I say, "Go on. Get to your lessons before Father has a fit" Winter nods and she runs off. I walk out of my room and towards the main entrance and I see Mother waiting for me.

I place the sword case down and Mother asks, "Have you said goodbye to Winter?" I nod and I say, "Of course. I shall miss you mother" Mother pulls me into a hug and when we pull away, I look down at her growing baby bump and I sigh sadly, knowing that I'll miss the birth of my second sibling. Mother rests her hand on my shoulder and says, "Go on. You'll miss the Bulkhead" I kiss her cheek and I turn to walk out the door when I hear, "Wait. Aren't you going to say goodbye to your old man?" I turn to look at my father and I ask, "Now why would I do that?" Father sighs and he holds out something.

I raise a brow and I take it from him, and I notice that it's a wallet. I look at him and he mutters, "Happy belated birthday. Are you going to open it or not?" I open it and I notice three credit cards sticking out of the pouches and a wad of Lien in the large pouch and I ask, "Father? What do you want from me? You wouldn't do this if you didn't want something" Father looks down and he answers, "I know that I have been a terrible father to you-" I cut him off and I say, "Terrible doesn't cut it" Father rubs his eyes and he continues, "But I want you to know that I don't hate you. I just wished that we would get along better. Anyway, there was also this…" He passes me a photograph and he pats my shoulder and walks off. I look at mother and she shrugs. I sigh and I say, "Well, I better go. Goodbye mother" Mother smiles and I walk out of the house and towards the bulkhead.

Present Time – Around Volume 2 finale

I drag the smaller blade across my sword when my scroll goes off. I raise a brow and I pull it out of my pocket, and I see the red flashing symbol in the top corner of the screen. I roll my eyes and I grumble, "Can't Vale protect themselves for once?" I flip my sword in my hands, and it turns into its revolver form and I strap it to my leg, and I jump off the edge of the cliff and I transform into my corvid form before I hit the ground.

A few minutes later

I make it to Vale within a few minutes and I see the damage. I land on a lamppost and I make sure that nobody can see me as I change back to my human form. I drop off the lamppost and I walk towards the fight, making sure my face is protected by my goggles and my hood and I notice a group of kids fighting a pack of Beowolves. I smirk and I jump over the presumably Beacon students and I fire the bullets into the Alpha, and I land on its body as it evaporates. I turn my head as I look at the kids and I jump off the body and I continue helping them fight the Grimm until backup arrives. I walk into a back alley as Ironwoods ships drop off his troops and my scroll beeps. I pull it out and I see a message from Oz. I roll my eyes with a sigh and I turn into my corvid form and I fly off towards Beacon.

Once I make it to Beacon, I change back once I get into the elevator and I take it to Ozpin's office. The doors open and I ask, "You wanted to see me Ozpin?" He nods and answers, "Yes. I wanted you to meet someone" I raise a brow and I walk into the office and over to the desk and I ask, "Who?" before Ozpin can answer I hear, "You wanted to see me, Professor Ozpin?" Ozpin stands up and answers, "Yes, Weiss. I have someone that I want you to meet" I raise a brow and Weiss walks up next to me and Ozpin motions between us and he says, "Danielle meet Weiss. Weiss meet Danielle" I nod at the younger girl who raises a brow and I ask, "What is this about, Ozpin?" Ozpin sighs and asks, "Danielle? Did you know that your mother went on to have two more kids after you left?" I nod my head and I say, "Yes. I knew about my second sibling as mother was still pregnant when I left but I haven't spoken to my mother since I went off the grid" Ozpin nods to Weiss and answers, "Ironwood asked me to make sure that you two meet each other. Danielle… Weiss is your youngest sister" I look at the girl and Weiss looks just as shocked as I am.

I look back at Ozpin and I say, "There is only one way to know for sure. Weiss, do you have an older sister named Winter by any chance? And is your father a complete and utter asshole?" Weiss nods and answers, "Yes and Yes" I nod, and I say, "We're siblings" Weiss looks at me and asks, "Wait! You knew about me but still left?" I look at her and I say, "I'm sorry?" Weiss growls and asks, "Sorry?! Do you have any idea what I went through?!" I turn to her and I ask, "Is it anything like what I went through?! I was beaten by father every day growing up and once Winter was born it only got worse! I was a mistake in father's eyes and I always have been! Winter almost got hurt by him while I was there! Why do you think I left?!" I look at Ozpin and I growl, "We're done here" and I storm out of his office and into an elevator.

A few hours later

I rub my tired eyes as I look out at Vale and I hear, "Do you mind if I join you?" I turn my head and I see Weiss. I shake my head and I turn back to look at the setting sun and I ask, "What do you want, Weiss?" Weiss sits next to me and answers, "I'm sorry…. About how I acted in there" I look over at her and I say, "No. I should be the one apologizing. I lashed out at you for no reason" Weiss shakes her head and answers, "I blamed you for leaving though. I had no idea what father did to you, and I assumed that you abandoned us. Thinking about it, I have done the same thing. Our younger brother is at home alone with a father who is probably manipulating him as he did with me"

I smile and I joke, "Looks like I have 17 birthday presents to buy then, eh sister?" Weiss shoves me and Weiss asks, "Would you like to meet my team?" I nod and I stand up and I hold my hand out for Weiss to take and she takes it and leads me to her dorm. When we make it to her dorm, Weiss swipes her scroll over the door and pushes it open and I hear, "Oh hey Weiss. Where have you been?" Weiss rubs her neck and says, "I um… I have someone that I want you to meet"

Weiss moves out of the way and I walk into the dorm. I wave and Weiss says, "This is my sister, D-" Ruby cuts her off by screeching, "Danielle!" I laugh and I say, "Hey squirt!" Ruby shoots off her bed and she hugs me. I look at Weiss who has a confused look on her face and I look up at Yang and I say, "Hey Yang" Yang scoffs and rolls her eyes as she goes back to her scroll.

I sigh and Weiss asks, "Hold on. You already know Yang and Ruby?" I nod and I say, "Yeah. I went to school with their parents. Summer made me Ruby's godmother after she was born. She also made me one of Ruby's legal guardians" Weiss is about to respond when Yang sneers, "Well Ruby already has two legal guardians. She doesn't need another one" Ruby squeezes tighter and I pat her head and she pulls away and Ruby asks, "Yang? Can't you two just get along? Please?" Yang sits up and she snaps, "Hell no! She has kept my mother's location a secret for years and she won't tell me!"

I narrow my eyes and I say, "Because Raven asked me not to! In case you haven't noticed, I'm not the type of person who breaks promises!" Yang growls and yells, "You may not break promises, but you abandon your family apparently!" I swallow and Yang continues, "That's where you and my mother go hand in hand! You both abandon your family because it's too much for you to handle!" I clench my fist and I yell, "Do you have any idea what I went through as a child? You may think 'Oh. She was born a Schnee so her life must have been great!' Well, I can tell you that your wrong! Why am I such a good fighter? Why do I run away?

Those are questions that I have been asked for years and I never answered them! Do you know why? Because I was ashamed! I was beaten and abused from the moment I could say a full sentence because I had the guts to say what others wouldn't! I trained day in and day out to the point that I would pass out during lessons which, Yeah! You guessed it!, lead to another series of beatings! I left my family because the last time I stood up to the man who beat me, he threatened the one good thing in my life to hurt me! My own father didn't acknowledge my existence until the day I left! Whereas Raven thinks about you every single day! So, don't assume that you know me just because of my name" I turn around and I say, "I'll see you later Weiss" and before she can protest, I walk out of the room.

Weiss' PoV

I narrow my eyes and I yell, "What the hell, Yang!" Yang looks at me and asks, "What?! Do you expect me to feel sorry for her?! She is keeping me from seeing my mother!" I clench my fists in anger and I turn around and I follow the path that my sister took, with Ruby following behind me.
