Kagome POV…

When I walked into the hut I expected Inuyasha to be sitting in the corner like he always is. Nope. Maybe waiting for me on the roof? Nada. Teaching Shippo a valuable life lesson? I wish. But no, he was nowhere to be seen. So when I asked Kaede if she knew where he was, I had a strong feeling by the look on her old, wrinkled face that he was in the sacred tree. Coincidentally, the same sacred tree that I had confessed to. That, or he was out looking for…her. Either way, I'm screwed for however long a half-demon's memory is.

Normal POV…

Inuyasha paced unhappily at the base of the sacred tree.

"What are we gonna do," Human asked, "because if we go back now, Kagome will surely question us, which means we have to answer, which means she will know where we were, which means-" Hanyou slapped a clawed hand over the human's mouth.

"You're babbling again-"

"Well excuse my anatomy, but I babble when I am nervous, and now seems like a pretty good time be nervous!" Both forms looked towards Demon, who had not said a word this whole time.

"And what's up with you?" Hanyou asked, poking him in the shoulder. There was a look of pure concentration on Demon's face. "Hello? Anyone home?" Demon slapped the hand away.

"Quiet. I hear something strange…" A cloud appeared in front of Inuyasha, and he hopped down. "What is this stuff..?" he asked as he waved his hand around in it. It felt as solid and as soft as silk, but was clearly a gas. Inuyasha gave it a sniff.

"You idiot!" yelled Demon. "Why would you smell such a thing-" Inuyasha's eyes closed slightly, before he crumpled to the ground. The toxic gas filled his head, and Human went out-cold first, followed soon by Hanyou. Demon struggled to keep conscious, but failed, and the three forms slipped into the murky haze of intoxicated dreams.

Ooo, cliffhanger! (Laughs evilly) But yeah, this is kind of a short chapter, and I estimate this story to be about 5-6 chapters long. Lolz and Hugz,
