January 6th 1996

So, not only were they both a witness to a murder, she was also became a main suspect. What a great night that turned out to be. Thankfully for her... Her alibi was confirmed by Camny to a point, and police also spoke to Mr. Kado that night confirming it them him as well.

A very rounded figure, obviously he spent his days in the office sitting around. Walked over carrying their files, looking them over. The moment he was in front of them, they stood, anxious to hear the outcome. "Well, both your alibis check out, and you both happen to be working with us according to your files." He pushed up his glasses looking at their reactions carefully, then finally turned to Camny in particular. "Your one of our forensic pathologists aren't you?"

"Yes, let's see..." Camny pulled out a paper, "time of death... 10:34pm, cause: I'm not entirely sure but it looked like it might of been an injection of some sort. The injection had been made on his left arm."

"I see... Well unfortunately-"

Camny let out an exaggerated sigh, "don't worry I volunteer, especially since I've never seen something like this before. I'll get my report to you of the cause by 10am sharp."

Nair looked at him surprised, "what? At 2am?"

"Duty calls, plus after this I won't be sleeping for a while." He had a point after all. "See you around." He left the building pulling on his jacket.

"And you? Your a student in our cold case department?" She nodded in response. "Well, your alibi checks out for now. If anything changes you'll be contacted."

Well, it was to be expected, she was there before Camny arrived. "Yes I understand."

When she arrived, like Camny, she couldn't sleep. What started as a carefree night ended up with her being a suspect in a murder investigation.

"He rounded a corner clutching his arm..." She thought out loud. "He also said he was fine, which means he didn't see who actually killed him." She began to write out all the events that unfolded, along with her alibi. She had told police all this, but in case she was called in again. She didn't want to mess up her alibi because she forgot an important detail.

Her ear phone suddenly rang, and she ran immediately to pick it up.

"Hello?"

"Oh Nair! I have a bit of news." It was Camny, she glanced at the time, 5:42am.

"Were you right?"

"It was in his system at least fifteen minutes before he died, that alone should clear you of suspicion."

Oh thank God! What a relief. "What was it?"

"Honestly I have no idea, seems to be a mix of various chemicals. It may take a little while to analyze, but at least your in the clear."

"Yeah, let me know what comes out of it."

"will do."

Camny placed the phone down and glanced over at the wound on the body, he had opened it and took samples, but he had never seen something like that. It also had a wicked stench that had probably made its way into his clothing. His fingers tapped on the table as he tried to decide the next step. Though he had a general idea, but it could get him in trouble for even considering it let alone acting on it.

He picked up the phone again this time dialling in a different number. It rang more than a few times before it was picked up.

"Yes?" A cold tone on the other line, this guy was sort of a wild card. Having helped before with some unusual cases. Though Camny had only been in the department for three years, the individual has saved his skin a few times with some interesting results. This time was no exception.

"I have a situation, do you think I can meet you?" As if already knowing the answer, he collected a sample of the black sludge from the wound and placed it on a cloth; then bagging the sample.

"You know where to find me." The line went dead, in an instant he was packing up and running out the door.

Juvella Azpar, an expert in developing poison, but also identifying it. Around when Camny first started his line of work, he received anonymous tips from Juvella on a victim who died of a seemingly natural death. A deal was also made when Camny learned that the tipper was also the inventor of the poison and happened to have a large grudge against his 'customer'. Rather than turn the black market poison dealer to police, he instead looked to him for aid whenever, if ever a case like this suddenly popped up. It was a pretty poor choice on Camny's part, but in regard to Juvella. He was literally the best out there, and unfortunately he was only in the deal for personal gain.

Camny only hoped this forty-five minute drive could mean results.

"Hmmm..." Juvella took the small zip-lock containing the sample from Camny, lifting it up a little to get a good view in the light. His long black hair a mess from probably getting up not too long ago. That being over an hour ago, but being a Saturday, everyone hits the lazy point. "Was this black when you extracted it?"

"Yes, also the victims skin was inflamed around the area I extracted it from. Actually the skin was coloured quite similar"

Juvella frowned slightly, "Well, rather than stay by the door, you may as well let yourself in. We have to go into the basement anyway." He walked off leaving Camny to quickly follow after disposing of his shoes at the entrance. He had not been to his basement before so he was quite curious to see Juvellas place of operations. There were bottles of chemicals located all over the place, A few not having labels, a few gas masks scatter around the room. He felt like he entered some sort of laboratory. Juvella pulled a chair back to sit in and cut a small piece of the black cotton, as he prepared to look at it under the microscope.

"So what else can you tell me about the victim?" Juvella asked as he started adjusting the microscope for viewing.

As Camny pulled over a chair he began to explain the situation, "Fifteen minutes in the system, he was homeless. Also the location of where this fluid was injected was on the arm, closer to the back of the arm. it was in a spot where that individual wouldn't be able to administer it himself."

"Find any drugs in his system?"

"Just some alcohol, below the illegal limit."

"hmmmm... Time of death?"

"10:34pm last night, he may of had it in his system a bit longer-"

"Yes, I see." Juvella finally managed to get a clear picture of what exactly he was dealing with and grew silent. Camny watched him for nearly ten minutes as he moved the small plate around to get different views on the poison. He backed up finally folding his arms. "What day did he die?"

"Last night, did you find something?"

Juvella couldn't take his eyes off the microscope, what on earth had he been looking at? He did manage to conclude one thing though, "A good chunk of what you gave me is organic, I can see a lot of dead blood cells."

"So a lot is his own blood?" Camny concluded.

The answer he received was Juvellas head shaking, "No, here's the thing, I've done this with you on more than one occasion. You have brought me sample from more than two days of a person being dead, the difference between this and the other sample you have showed me. There's rot, and the cells have obviously been dead for quite some time."

"Yeah... That's what I did notice back at the lab, now you see why I'm a bit stumped?"

"Yes, but there's also a few chemicals in there, I can predict from looking at this, there is a very small amount of Hydrofluoric acid. But it would not be enough to kill someone. This sludge though, it was injected right into the blood stream?"

"yeah."

Juvella bit his lip, his grey eyes narrowing at the sample. He hated to admit, but he was slightly stumped too. He was more in the line of a chemical expert. "There are also some cells I have not seen before, I would like to point out they're organic as well."

"So what do you think?" there was a long period of silence as Juvella pondered on it.

"As ridiculous as it sounds, at a first glance Id say its Carrion. But that thought is completely ridiculous..." he mumbled off.

"Someone injecting rotten flesh into people sounds a bit... Over the top to be honest. I came to a similar conclusion, I really needed a second glance to be absolutely sure." Scratching his head at the thought, "But I guess I cant rule it out now."

Juvella stood, and once again led Camny through the house. "Ill let you know if I find anything more. You just gave me something to do this weekend." He watched as the red haired man pulled on his shoes.

"Well. Ill probably be doing this for a lot longer than a weekend." Camny let out a laugh, but it ran quite dry.

Sitting in the car, Camny was deep in thought. Carrion... then there was a hint of Hydrofluoric acid, Obviously there had to be something more than just those two. So the killer had access to a corpse, and with the blood cells still visible. That meant someone probably had a body in storage somewhere. In such a massive city though. Finding the killer was not going to be an easy task.

Next chapter will be out either tomorrow or the day after. Itll be a lot longer.
