Ch.2 Dinner and a Show

Author's note: My apologies for being absent for so long, I've had a minor computer issue. But finally, at long last, The Demon King is back in the saddle!

Antonio Sorentino's was a lovely little italian restaraunt just down the street from the arena where RAW had been held that night. "AJ, wow..." Cena began, stunned as he admired the strapless black dress she was wearing. "I gotta say, you clean up nice, kid." AJ gave him a warm smile as she inspected his appearance in turn.

He wore a classic dress shirt and black slacks ensemble. He wasn't wearing a tie, as that would have been too formal for the occasion. "You're not so bad yourself," she replied, batting those lovely eyes of hers. "Shall we go inside?" she asked. John nodded. Ever the gentleman, he opened the door and waited. "After you, my dear," he replied.

"Thank you, kind sir," AJ said, her tone slightly flirty. It earned her a smile as she passed through the door. John followed close behind. "Table for 2?" he asked the receptionist. The lady's jaw nearly dropped. "Oh my god..." she said, trying to find words. "You're John Cena," she whispered.

"That is my name," Cena replied warmly. It wouldn't have surprised him if she was a fan. He did have a particularly large female fanbase, after all. "I hate to ask this, but my daughter is a HUGE fan. Can I have your autograph?" the lady asked. Cena's smile grew wider. He was always happy to sign autographs for fans. "Tell you what," AJ interjected. "You're daughter can have my autograph too."

The receptionist clutched the podium to keep from fainting. "You're AJ," she replied. "My son is such a fan!" At this, it was AJ's turn to smile. "Well, my autograph for your son, and John's for your daughter. It's settled then," AJ said. The receptionist nodded. "Right this way, sir. Miss?" she replied.

They were shown to a nice booth in the corner near one of the windows. As they sat down, another couple happened to pass by and notice them. Vickie Guererro almost thought nothing of it, but then she spied AJ through the window. "Dolph, stop," she said to the blonde who was accompanying her.

As she witnessed John Cena and AJ make small talk and act cordial to each other, the first flames of jealousy showed in her eyes. She turned to Dolph and glared at him as she angrily smacked his shoulder.

"Ow! Vickie, what was that for?" he demanded. "Why don't you ever take me out on dates like that?" she demanded in return. "Vickie, baby, you know it'll have to wait till I finally get the WWE Championship," he defended. He glared at Cena through the window with a burning resentment. Cena had everything he felt he deserved.

Everywhere he went backstage, no matter who he talked to, it was always John Cena. John Cena being in the main event. John Cena having multiple WWE Championship and World Championship reigns. John Cena getting movie deals, magazine covers and commercials! If he heard one more person backstage talk about how good John Cena was he felt he might snap.

"That's bull, Dolph," Vickie retorted, bringing him back to the conversation with his unsatisfied girlfriend. "You've been both the Intercontinental and the United States Champion," she argued. "And you held both of those titles because of me!" she raged. Remembering the night's events only made her madder. "I got fired because of you!" she continued. "And you mean to tell me that you can't take me out on one miserable date every now and then?"

John heard her ranting from inside the building. Thinking quickly, he knocked on the window, getting their attention. As they glared at him and AJ, they recieved hello waves. "Hey look, AJ," Cena said with a laugh. "Dinner and a show." Just then, the waitress showed up to ask them what they wanted to start with. She found herself staring at Vickie's ranting form out the window.

"Uh, excuse me," she asked, causing AJ and Cena to turn their attention away from the hilarious scene Vickie was creating outside. "Do you know them?" she asked. Cena and AJ shared a look. "Nah," John replied. "Never seen them before in my life." He thought quickly. "AJ?" he asked, flashing her a mischievious grin.

"Me neither," AJ replied as she caught a look at her former boss going to town on Dolph's shoulder. It was clear someone was in the doghouse in the Guererro/Ziggler relationship. She smiled. "Uh, can you have somebody remove them?" AJ asked. "She looks a little crazy, and they're blocking my view of the street."

The waitress nodded, then pulled a small two way from her belt. "Security?" she asked. "What's going on?" came the reply. "There's a disturbance outside the window of booth 4-b," she replied. "It's disturbing two of our patrons. Can you do something about it?" In no time, a reply came. "10-4," the person on the other end responded.

"What would you like?" the waitress asked. AJ smiled. "I'd like the pasta primevera," she replied. The waitress scribbled it down on her pad. "What dressing would you like on your salad?" AJ thought for a minute. "Blue Cheese, please," AJ said with a smile. The waitress turned to John. "And for you, sir?" she asked expectantly.

Cena scanned the menu. It wasn't long before something meaty caught his eye. "I think I'll go with the Beef Lasagna," he said as Vickie's raving outside got louder. He beat the waitress to the punch before she could ask. "Thousand Island dressing for my salad please," he added. The waitress nodded. "I'll be right out with your salads," she replied.

Cena nodded. "Thank you," he replied. They turned their attention back to the window, where restaraunt security was asking Dolph and Vickie to leave the premises, "We don't have to leave!" Vickie could heard to be yelling.

"Ma'am, you're disturbing some of our patrons," A large, African American who's nametag read Joe informed her. "One of them seems to think you're...crazy." If looks could kill, the glare Vickie sent AJ would have melted the glass of the window. "And based on your current behavior, I gotta say, I kind of agree with her." A shorter guard stepped in front of her. AJ saw his nametag read "Theodore."

"Miss, if you don't leave, we'll be forced to call the police," Theodore warned her. She did not respond in any way close to how she probably should have. Instead, she pulled her foot back and kicked herself a field goal below the man's belt. "Vickie, are you insane?" Dolph demanded. At this point, he stepped to the side.

"Damn," AJ commented. "I'd hate to be that security guard." Cena smiled, "Looks like kitty got claws," he replied. They were so taken by watching Vickie be restrained they didn't notice the waitress had arrived with their salads.

"Excuse me," she said. "Your salads are here." John and AJ turned their attention from the window to recieve their first bits of food. "Thank you," John said. The waitress noticed something missing, "I'm so sorry I forgot to ask earlier. Would you like anything to drink?" she asked.

"I think we'd both like some Champagne," John replied. "AJ?" he asked. "That's fine," AJ agreed. Taking a brief moment from her duties, she stared out the window as a police car rolled up. "They're still there, huh?" she asked. AJ nodded. "The crazy lady kicked one of your people in the balls," she replied. The waitress cringed. "Oooh, was it Ted?" she asked.

John nodded. "Yeah, she got him good too." The waitress sent him a smile. "I'll be right back with your champagne. John eyed her nametag. "Thak you, Heather," he said with a smile. "You are most welcome," she replied.

As the waitress left, they turned back to the scene outside. "Well, this show keeps getting better," John said as two police approached the restrained and angry Vickie Guererro. They noticed one officer's tag said "Anderson," and the other's said "Derksen." The shorter one escorted Vickie to the hood of their car. "Ms. Guererro, you are under arrest for assault. Do you understand that?" Officer Anderson asked.

"Dolph, get me out of this," she pleaded, to no avail. "Honey, you kicked a security guy in the balls," came his reply. Officer Derksen stepped in front of him "Sir, if you do not wish to be arrested as well, you need to leave," he ordered. Dolph headed back in the direction of the arena. "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE LEAVING ME!" Vickie shouted. Dolph turned as they put her in the back seat of the patrol car. "I'm just going to get my car so I can meet you at the police station." he replied,

As John and AJ got their meals, the police car containing one Vickie Guererro pulled away from the restaraunt. "That was too funny," Cena said as he dug into his lasagna. "We should do this more often." As he spoke, AJ clicked their wine glasses together. "I'll second that," she replied with a smile.

They finished their meals, but there was one small bit of business to take care of. Lacking the normal WWE autograph pages they would sign at a signing, they elected for napkins. As John paid the check, AJ signed, "To Thomas, with love, your friend, AJ Lee."

She handed the pen to John, who signed the second napkin, "To Jo, with love, your friend, John Cena." They handed them to the ecstatic receptionist, who could barely mouth the words to thank them.

"Wow, I'm stuffed," John said. "So am I," AJ replied. "I want to thank you for a lovely evening." John pecked her cheek. "It was my pleasure," he said with a smile. "I say we stop by this restaraunt whenever we visit this city," he added. "You, sir, have a deal on that one," AJ replied happily. In her eyes, it was the perfect end to the perfect evening.
