Ice woke up to hear rain. She loved rain before, but not now. Rain meant food was harder to find, and the air was cold and frosty. She realized leafbare was coming, along with harsh weather and food was even harder to find. She left her little shelter and went to look for food
She came back to her shelter just after sunhigh and felt triumphant. She had gotten a whole chunk of twoleg meat, and it had still been warm. She curled up in her shelter feeling warmer than usual and realized there was heat coming from the twoleg nest! She felt as if nothing could be better. She was dead wrong. The next day she woke up and heard a twoleg screeching at her and throwing trash at her. She ran away and watched as they filled the hole with something mysterious (cement) and saw it harden. She now had no home and felt lost. Ice went out past the adbandoned twoleg nests to the ones where the twolegs lived.
